Me and my friends decided to come to this place and give it a try. To start off the place is disgusting and dirty I would not be suprised if they happen to have cockroaches second of all the food we ordered was not good at all. We had asada fries, tacos, and one lengua burrito but everything lacked flavor nothing looked or tasted fresh. I was craving a Tamale while I was in the area do I stopped to get lunch for my coworkers and I. I ordered 2 tamales to go so I could have one for dinner and one for Breakfast. The dinner one was fine. But the next morning when I sliced it open to place in the broiler this is what I got. I'm assuming whoever makes them was doing so sooo fast that they didn't pay attention that they pretty much missed the spot! I've been going to this place for years. Its right around the corner from where I live. Many people have commented this place is the "hole in the wall" & I agree. They have a small lobby and the food should be made/ordered to-go; they have as small counter, unfortunately, you get in the way of other customers if you try to eat on the counter. I ordered the 3 taco special $6 (tacos, beans and rice) and its equivalent to street tacos; the meat was Al Pastor (like Mexican bbq flavor). The best part of the experience is the salsa bar; they have a green salsa that is avocado based and it taste great with cilantro & onions; a little squeeze of lemon and the tacos are good to go. 4 stars because there was a line and they did not keep the order of the customers - I know there are some things out of their control but, it was not 1st come 1st serve. If you are constipated or haven't had a bowel movement in a week, this is the place for you. I had the chicken burrito with rice, beans, cilantro, onions and their hot salsa. Unfortunately the salsa was too hot and it killed the taste and flavors of the burrito. A few hours following the "meal" I experienced bad heartburn followed by stomach cramps and uncontrollable burning farts. Those were the warning signs of my impending visit to the bathroom, KAPOW!!! The food is really good here and I will always come back. The only complaint I have is the staff (on numerous occasions) have failed to pay attention to my order. For example, if you say you want an asada burrito with no onion or cilantro, she adds it anyway. She will even add green salsa when asked for red resulting in having to make another burrito. By simply paying attention they won't have to waste food and can get costumers in & out in a timely manner :) read more

Not the newest/cleanest Mexican place to purchase food but the food is good! Their Lengua is the main reason why I go here. This is one of the very few Mexican joints that serve Lengua. The place is really small and dining in is not really as good option since they only have two short counters where you can eat your food. Calling in ahead of time and picking up your order is the best way to order food, that's how I mostly do it. Most of their staff barely speaks English so ordering can sometimes be a challenge but still doable. They have messed up my order several times because of the language difference ( I don't speak Spanish ). But yet, I always go back for the food is really good. read more

I have been waiting to post this for a few weeks after emailing the corp. directly ... After getting no response I decided this is best. I work in the food industry, currently in a higher end restaurant here in rancho. I know the rules of the kitchen as well as food safety. With that being said.. My visit the other week was absolute trash. I ordered fish tacos.... These tacos where completely soggy... No crunch and the fish inside was cold as hell. Also the people where very rude. I didn't make a fuss about neither of the two because I noticed there were other customers inside at the time. I simply left the un eaten taco on the counter and left.. During my visit that was the least of my worrys when I looked back into their kitchen and saw a big pile of frozen meat defrosting in a bucket inside the mop sink.. Wtf? There are three simple and safe methods to defrosting Refrigerator defrost. Cold water defrost Or even micro wave defrost.. Which is still gross but safe. But they just had there's in a bucket un -covered in the mop sink. Just plain disgusting. read more

I was returning from a doc's appointment and had a sudden urge for some tacos. I was thinking about those crappy but inexplicable urge for Jack N the Box tacos, but remembered that there is a small hole in the wall taco place right by Jack. So having not read a single review about this place which is not normal for me, I ventured in. The place is so poorly lit, I had reservations opening the door. But nevertheless I walked in. No one there to greet me so I had to say hello in a loud voice to get someone's attention. the cook came out and asked me what I wanted. I ordered the 4 taco + drink combo. So she went on her business cooking my order and I sat down at the very dirty counter by the window. I went to the other side and it was just as dirty. So while I was waiting, I was getting cold. The overhead fan was on at the highest setting and since the fan is so low, you really feel it. I asked the woman cook if she could turn it down and she said "No". I said but I'm cold because the fan is so strong. She shrugged her shoulder and said "It's hot back here" and a few seconds later handed me my food. I ate quickly b/c I just wanted to eat and get the hell out of there. I won't comment too much about the food other than to say it was average. Negative stars 4 for the crappy attitude and customer service by the lady cook and only 1 star for the lengua which wasn't that bad. Ok, so for a long time I been wanting to try this place, I finally stop today, my wife and 3 kids, we go in there is no sitting, about 4 stools all taken, so we decide to take it to go, place smells like burn grease, we get in line to order, older main lady has an attitude, she is very rude, like im bothering her at her own house. Now the food quality is low, selection and prices are good but not any better than any albertos, may be even lower, I order milanesa, chile relleno, fish tacos, regular tacos, and wet burrito, the fryer seem to be under tempeture so that makes food be extra greasy, meat is low quality. Do not recomend, stay away, good selection, good prices, low quality, really bad attitude, *RUDE* to the owner- this was Saturday 11-28-15 at 5pm, I did not even get a receipt after paying cash, she was rude with multiple customers. read more

I will have to say that this is the best hole in the wall Mexican food place I've been to. I love their asada, carnitas, pastor, chile relleno, horchata, lengua, rice, beans, everything. I would have to say that their asada is the best I've had. Used to be here quite often when I still lived in the RC, but now I'm back in L.A. it's too much of a hassle just to get some asada tacos. Their taco specials are the best, and i remember they used to be $.79 per taco. Not too sure how much they've raised their prices since. There's no seating, unless you sit outside on the curb, otherwise you can stand up by the counter and eat there... or better yet, you can take it home lol. The plaza is small, right next to a Jack in the Box, a liquor store and other small businesses, so it's easy to miss. If you live around the area, be sure to hit up this joint instead of Taco Bell or Del Taco, you definitely won't be disappointed. read more

I love this place. Authentic Mexican food. Everything is delicious and are generous in portion. Reasonable prices too!! I have had their burritos (they are huge!) soft tacos and especially their Chile rellenos!!! They are bomb!!! . The place is small so be prepared to take your order to go. No public restrooms. Oh they do charge you 50 cents when you use your debit/cc. You can also pack up your own dressings - onion, cilantro, lemon, cucumber and salsas. Highly recommend this place. Note. I've been to way better hole-in-the-wall places (El Tapatio back in SFS). This is just mediocre food. Their asada tacos weren't very flavorful, even with salsa. If you don't get asada tacos right, there's no hope. I miss the awesome Mexican food of East L.A.!!!! read more

Yesterday I tried a Chile Rellano Burrito at this place. The place itself is a ghetto version of Chipotle. Sort of that Subway style set up. It's a little hole in the wall places. Standing bar area for those who can't wait to eat. The ladies behind the counter work diligently. Quite impressive. They also have pretty good tortillas that wrap your burrito. The Chile Rellano Burrito was Delicious. Very tasty. The beans they put were very smooth. Hubs ordered a Carne Asada burrito that he was very pleased with. He also ordered a Barbacoa one that was really salty. Not recommended. One neat thing they asked though is, "What size?" Burrito size? That's what I'm talking about. read more

The quintessential definition of a "Hole-in-the-Wall" restaurant. You can't eat there, nor would you want to, but the food is pretty damn good. I've tried tacos, taco salad, taquitos, nachos, burritos and have yet to be disappointed. But if you're hungry, try a wet burrito... those things are MASSIVE!. I just left this place for my first time. I walked in and the lady could tell I was confused. (I was standing on the wrong side of the line at first) I told her it was my first time and proceeded to order the three pastor tacos combo meal. I paid for my food, was handed my Togo order and walked to my car. I opened it and saw that it was actually carne asada. I then noticed the lid showed something different written on it than what I thought I saw the lady write for mine. I went back inside and walked up to her and politely said "hi, sorry, these were supposed to be al pastor." She looked at me confused at first and tried to tell me that they were. (I hadn't actually opened the box yet) When I opened the box she saw that I was right. She then began speaking Spanish to the lady that took my transaction. They went back and forth for a minute and then she gestured for me to hand her the box. I proceeded to watch what she was doing. She opened the box, started scooping the carne asada out of my tacos, chopped it back up on the chopping board next to her, and scooped up some pastor and put it in my taco shells. She didn't even get all of the carne asada out. I didn't feel like making a scene so I just took it and went back to my car. This isn't how she should have handled that mistake in my opinion, especially knowing I'm a first-timer. I would've appreciated three new tacos - carne asada free. Also, I wonder if she was going to reuse the carne asada? Who knows what I could've done to it! (Would never do that, but people are crazy these days). I will probably give them one more shot - the tacos were pretty good after I picked out the carne asada, and it's RIGHT across the street from my work. But I am pretty disappointed in my first impression. Hopefully they step up their customer service. read more

Ordered: Chicken quesadilla - chicken was dry, bland Came Asada burrito - bland, rice was dry, meat flavorless, I think the beans were canned. Carnitas burrito, the same as above. Chile relleno- disgusting! Mushy greasy coating, rubbery cheese Shrimp tacos- tough shrimp, could have been ping pong balls I'd come back if it was the only place in town and I was starved for a week. Still bomb but I have to take back my "the don't hold back on the meat" comment. I went today and they now have a specific meat scooper for the carne asada burritos.
