I'm so thankful this small shop is still around. They have deals on a slice of pizza and a drink. The sausage and peppers pizza was savory and delicious. I have not a clue how this place has 4.5 stars. I'm rating this a 4 and that's grading it on a curve (read as: should be lower). I don't want to be that guy who tries to write something clever to indicate his level of unhappiness ... but all I'll say is this ... if this is a 4.5 star pizza place, I implore the lovely people of Tucson to get out more. I passed by Los Olivos countless times but never had an occasion to eat here. Recently, I needed a quick lunch and thought a slice of pizza would do the trick. Why not give Los Olivos a try? I decided to get a slice of sausage pizza and a drink. The cost was less than $8.00. That's a bargain in today's inflated economy. The food came out with cloth napkin and silverware (wow!). But the slice of pizza was the star of the show It was a thin crust dough and tasted like it came right off the oven (which I am sure it did). The crust was crispy and has the taste of good bread, really good crispy bread. Combined with the right mix of cheese and sauage topping, I decided right then and there that this place is worth coming back. When i do, I will try their various pasta offering on the menu. Amazing food quality! I did not take photos because the food was to good!!!! Last night we had the Spicy Sausage Linguine Pasta , Hot Wings, Side Salad, and Meatball Sandwich. The spicy sausage pasta was amazing and tasted great. The hot wings were cooked perfectly, not too saucy and not to dry with the Buffalo sauce. The side salad tasted great. They make their salad dressing in house and it was super flavorful! Now the best part was the Meatball sandwich. BEST MEATBALL SANDWICH IN TUCSON! They use Torta Bread, super soft with very flavorful meatballs and mozzarella cheese. The sandwich bread was not soggy which is super important with the meatballs. This is the place to go for meatball sandwiches !! What's great about Los Olivo's is that this is a family owned and operated store so everything comes from the heart and the food is cared for greatly! We will come back for more! :) read more

I stopped here today to order a single slice of pizza. Still no dine in here. Well I walked up to the order window and started looking at some of the menus in the windows. It's definitely not a very nice looking establishment, atleast from the outside. A small dirt parking lot and a bit of a rundown older building. This doesn't matter, because everything has to start from something. So I see on the menu that a slice of cheese pizza is 5 dollars and 50 cents per topping. Seems pretty high for a slice. Oh well, I want to try it. I order pepperoni on mine and with tax, it comes to 6 bucks. This is with no drink or anything, no sitting down, air conditioning or anything. The girl takes my money and says it will be about 3 minutes. Only 1 person was in front of me and noone was behind me. Took about 10 minutes for some reason, then a friendly voice said here you go and thank you for stopping here. The slice was good sized and was pretty good. Nothing great or anything, but doable. It simply wasn't any better than what I can get at a quick trip or costco for less money in less time. Everything on their menus looked overpriced, but who knows, maybe it's just their pizza that was average. Maybe their lasagna is excellent. All I know is I'm not up for paying a high price to sit in my truck, in a dirt parking lot to be disappointed again. read more

Delicious flavorful pizza and wonderful customer service too! Sadly, we haven't been to Los Olivos for a while (darn diets! lol), but I'm so happy we decided to return again tonight. We ordered a Supreme Pizza online and it was ready in about 30 minutes. Super fresh pizza with a generous amount of toppings. The crust has a nice chew and crunch with a pillowy soft interior. The Parmesan cheese also seemed to be freshly grated. You can taste the love and care that goes into the pizza. Something else we really appreciate is how friendly the gal who answers the phone and runs the pickup window is. Unlike some of the other pizza restaurants around town you are not treated like an annoyance when you pick up your order. You are treated like your business is appreciated. I walked into Los Olivos and my first thought was wow this place is tiny. It's like a house, and they converted the porch to an Arizona room with two small tables on the inside. I ordered a Mexican Coke and a water with a cup of ice and studied the menu as I waited for my friend Kim to arrive. The soccer match was on and there was an employee enjoying her lunch break at one of the tables. The happiness of the people who work at a restaurant is almost important as the food that they serve there. I asked the guy which pasta he liked and he quickly responded the shrimp, so that was a done deal for me. My friend arrived and chose the chicken ricotta pizza and a salad. We sat and chatted. I was afraid that I would be hot inside, but the swamp cooler made it pretty comfortable. The dishes arrive. They're gorgeously plated. Very pleasing to the eye. In fact better than most I've seen in a while. You can tell the chef cares about how things are done. We share the pasta first. As an Italian/ Mexican raised girl who knows her way around a sauce, it's probably the best sauce I've had in a very long time, aside from mine of course! Next is the pizza, thinnish crispy crust and delicious chunks of ricotta, the combination worked well. The salad was tossed with a vinaigrette and looked very good although I didn't taste it. Bottom line... it takes me 25 minutes in a Sunday with no traffic (Tucson Traffic) and I would drive in rush hour during a monsoon to pick up dinner from Los Olivos. love. read more

Who would've thought an unassuming, small shack in a stabby-looking neighborhood would have such fantastic food? This place was recommended to me probably over a year ago by a fellow Mexican at a bar and while he raved over the place, I couldn't bring myself to believe that he wasn't exaggerating about the quality of the pizzas here. Well over a full year later I finally made it to Los Olivos and can tell you that that Mexican guy was right. I wish I could tell him but I haven't seen him in several months. He may be dead. Anyhoozle, this place serves pizzas in 10-inch, 14-inch and 18-inch sizes. I ordered the smallest of the batch just to get a taste of their meatiest pie because I can't order food without dead animals in it. And the pizza was SO good! It was under an inch thick and didn't feel like it was overcompensating for its lack of flavor by giving you just a big fat stack of bread. Seriously, bread is stupid. The best part of bread is meat and sauce. A proper pizza should just be a meat sleeve. And Los Olivos knew what they were doing. They have other Italian dishes like lasagna, calzones and other sandwiches that I haven't yet tried. But if they're just as good as the pizza I had, I'm happy to give anything on the menu a shot. I also got wings and thoroughly enjoyed them. They were appropriately sauced (none of that naked wing that you have to dip into sauce, kinda crap!) and delicious. Their little shack with a tiny patio is quaint and kind of hard to see at night if you're not looking for it. Thank you Siri!!! I was at St. Mary's and asked Siri about nearby pizza and Los Olivos showed up as close by. I walked into the tiny little casita and the smell was amazing! A one man operation. Friendly as all get out. I ordered a 14" sausage and roasted red peppers with meatballs. And when it came I was floored. It was beautiful. The edges were puffy and charred. The toppings, way generous. I ate half of that pie before I came up for air. This isn't a neat eating pie. Prepare to have slippage and drippage. But that leaves something to be scooped up with those amazing charred edges. The sauce is understated but definitely homemade. I only needed to add a bit of salt. This pizza gave me memories of the Italian/Greek pies I ate in Connecticut. I'll be back to try the meatball sandwich and the lasagna. read more

Not the type of pizza I'm used to but this place is great. They guys at the counter were so nice!! Price is excellent. We got an 18" pepperoni and it felt hugggge for what we paid. We got it to eat-in and sat outside on their little patio. It was a little oily, but you can just dab it. The cheese was delicious and the sauce not overpowering. Been wanting to try out this place for awhile and finally did! It is a small little unassuming house across the street from the Mercado, with a small side parking lot. We ordered takeout due to Covid times and the ordering process was quick and easy. They finished a bit before the time reported which was a plus! Its a small mom and pop's shop serving full pizza pies as well as slices. Also with common italian pasta dishes. We ordered a pepperoni pizza (it came sliced into squares) and a chicken parmigiana with side of their market salad. Everything was great and at a reasonable price. The tomato sauce on the pizza is mildly spicy which I loved! And the chicken parm was cripsy fried goodness over a bed of pasta with a side of bread.
