Tried it for the first time today. Had the enchilada and hard taco combo. When they say hard taco they mean HARD taco, the taco shell was about as easy to chew as a poker chip! The rest of the meal was fine, $9.01 for my combo, why does it have to be $9.01? Wouldn't it be easier if it came out to be $9.00? This is probably one of the most unpleasant Mexican food experiences I have had lately and perhaps ever. All of our orders contained dried meat, soggy chips, and flavorless food all around. The taco combo didn't come as ordered, which on top of the dudsville this food was, even using salsa to cover up the fact that it had no flavor was a bust too. despite friendly service/greeting, the food is a BIG disappointmt! was contemplating their mole and they even offered a little sample for me to try...definitely decided against it. Thus, decided to go w/ the "safe" menu item of a chicken burrito...well, the less than stellar mole should've been a warning to not eat here. So the chicken burrito - the ONLY good was its large in size but then again, I didn't even want to eat more after I was half-way through even though I was starving...I lost my appetite after a couple of bites of the boring, unflavored, boiled "salty" chicken and bland, steamed veggies and failed-to-impress Spanish rice in the burrito. I know I'm a picky eater, but really?! This is a burrito from a "mexican" restaurant and one where it was raved (framed newspaper article on wall) about at some point in its operating history!? I have nothing against the nice people working there but they could learn to make a better burrito, regardless of whether a burrito (is or) isn't Mexican. I have to start by saying I have been a pretty loyal and happy customer. Keats greeted with a smile and the employees recognize me and my co-workers. The food is really good, the nachos are awesome. Today I was very disappointed in the service and treatment. Every time in go in I use the Belly app on their iPad. Today's visit marked my half off a meal. The machine was down and I asked if it could be honored and I was told no because how would they "know it had already been honored?" And I could use it again. I do get their pint but it's not like they wouldn't recognize me. I even told them they could wildfire it on a card to prove it had been honored. I was very unhappy with the service today and have to say good-bye to Los Tacos. read more

This morning I was headed to Starbucks to grab one of their (probably day old) pastries. What I really wanted was a delicious, hearty, breakfast burrito. I spotted Los Taco's Pasadena, directly across the street, so I bee-lined it across crazy busy Fair Oaks. The first thing that caught my eye were the reasonable prices. Most plates were under $10. My breakfast burrito was $5.25, which is not bad, considering the area of Pasadena I was in. Right near Huntington Hospital - with all of the hospital staff nearby they could easily charge $7.00 or more. Fair play to 'em. I wanted a plain breakfast burrito, i.e., bacon, eggs, cheese, potato. They did not have bacon. I repeat, they did not have bacon, only ham! How can you have a breakfast burrito without bacon? Sacrilege! She kinda stumped me for a sec. "Are you out of bacon?" "No, I don't use bacon, only ham." eh?! Does not compute. So I had the HAM, egg and cheese burrito, with a little bit of beans inside. It was a'ight. A little messy, the tortilla did not completely maintain all of the ingredients inside. I do not like being a sloppy eater, so it made for a less than enjoyably eating experience. The salsa bar was clean and had a variety of salsas to choose from; mild, hot etc. I chose the red hot and the hot Pico de Gallo. If they consider those two hot, then man, my spice monitor must be on another level. They were closer to a less than mild and watery. The only thing that really saved this place is the fact I was short .50cents, because I did not take my wallet, only a few dollar bills. The cashier was kind enough to allow me to bring it by later in the day, since I work across the street. Los Tacos needs to work on wrapping the burrito better and most importantly giving customers the option of bacon. If you have ham, why not bacon? Oh and step up the spice level on those salsas, I might as well have put red water on my burrito this morning. read more

Being that I am Mexican I am usually pretty critical of trying Mexican food at restaurants. That said, Los Tacos has some pretty tadty food. My fave are definitely the 'Birria' tacos. my boyfriend was craving traditional mexican food, but didn't want to deal with the atmosphere and price of el cholo nearby, so we chose los tacos which had a much more casual vibe. he's been there before and liked it. it was my first time. i had a difficult time selecting something from the menu. the cashier was friendly and even allowed me to sample their chicken mole. i've never done that at a restaurant before! i ended up with the chicken mole burrito. it was good and very filling. the burrito was massive, so i had it cut in half. my boyfriend enjoyed his meal, but i kept wishing i got a plate dish since i always get burritos, so i didn't fully enjoyed my meal. the food is good but not mind-blowing. i find the burritos at la estrella much more phenomenal and enjoyable. next time, i'll try something different, and hopefully save room for their desserts! read more

If you want bland, salty, greasy, smelly food, accompanied with dirty utensils and glasses come here. That's how I felt and I will not return here ever again. The burrito was stuffed with a mixture of something ( fair to say edible), but one could not tell where is meat and where are the beans. Ordered an al pastor burrito. Came quickly but it had too much sauce inside! Burrito leaked through the tortilla and blew out the bottom. Made an executive decision to eat it with a knife and fork. The 'rocket fuel' salsa was no joke! Overall the horchata was good, salsa was good, but my burrito was too moist and truthfully a little salty. My girlfriend and I LOVE the food here but the customer service is poor, for us at least. Once made apparent that we are gay the women working in the front treat is VERY poorly. They become impatient and at times have barely given us the time of day to greet or thank us. Today we went in and the cashier Karla flat out ignored us for about 5 mins until she decided to stop gossiping with the other woman about the previous customer and take our order. The food is decent enough but I can't justify spending that much at a takeout Mexican place, when you can get a taco all over LA for about $2-3. Just put aside any thoughts to health and get some tasty nachos. Substantial portions at a great price. $8 for full order of nachos with meat, $5.50 for half-order with meat. My favorite takeout Mexican joint in Pasadena. I'm not even sure exactly what it's called, I think it's the "Super Wet Chicken Burrito" or something, but it's amazing-chicken, beans, rice, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream crammed into a nice warm tortilla topped with tasty red sauce. It's not super spicy, which I appreciate. It's huge, so I usually don't finish it, but it also tastes good heated up for lunch the next day. Delicious food and nice staff. Don't be led astray by the unflattering yelp reviews about this restaurant. My partner and I planned a day at the Huntington Gardens and were looking for some Mexican food in the area. Los Tacos did not disappoint! We ordered a ham, egg, cheese, and refried bean breakfast burrito and the machaca con huevos plate. They were both incredible! As an added bonus they have a freaking delicious salsa bar with fresh, flavorful salsas. The prices are on point and the serving size is large. Be prepared for leftovers ;) Don't miss out! read more

You know when it is obvious people just don't give a *&%$ about what they are doing? I came in, since I had an appointment next door, and ordered a couple of tacos, the lady asks if I want onions/cilantro on them, to which I say, yes please. Turns out, if you use debit, it has to be 10.00 or more. First clue. So, I order a carnitas plate instead. Well, it is similar to turkey jerky. That dry. My co workers who are Hispanic laughed, and said, that's what you get in Pasadena. Literally it is dry as jerky. They joked that my dog may not eat it. Also, no onion, no cilantro, no lime, no cheese on the beans. I ate a potato taco while I waited. It was flavorless and bland. Mashed potatoes in a shell with some lettuce, and some kind of ranchero sauce. I hope this helps someone else avoid this place. They have signs up like they were rated "best of" I think somewhere. I remember when Los Tacos had no booths, and was all neon signs and the size of a large closet. It's your Pasadena, hole-in-the-wall Mexican go-to, and it's so hard to beat. Well I under estimated Fidel & his teams ability to live up to my expectations. Let me tell you they out did them!! I am a caterer & have been a wedding planner for over 20 years. Fidel & his team catered my son's wedding. Not a back yard wedding, not a casual wedding but at Union Station in LA. Their presentation, service & quality of the food was amazing. I cannot thank Fidel enough for his attentiveness of our guests, the entire reception was overwhelmed with great Mexican food. His food was good from appetizers, to dinner buffet to the bar. His serving staff was amazing. They handled the champagne toast and it went off without a hitch. Thank you Fidel & staff!! Truly from the bottom of my heart...thank you, thank you, thank you! Dry carnitas, old radishes served as garnish, and tortillas that weren't even warmed. At some point in time I think this place gave up. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I got the tacos cause it's called los tacos. They have a salsa bar without fresh salsa. Plus no chips. Not any at the salsa bar and none on the plate. Great service of staff and amazing food. I ordered the sope asada. And Nacho asada fries. Food was stacked high of meat. Not like other places that give you little. My wife got torta asada, chili rellono. She loved it. We also got morning food :) breakfast burrito egg with chorizo. Oh and had to get my Sprite and the sauce they have on the side which is a plus+++ for being the first time here I know I will return. I may get tacos next time and try more breakfast. read more
