We drove a long way and with great expectation to arrive at Loula's. First, let me state that my wife and I are pleasant and amiable people. We are good tippers. Our expectation is simply that we receive good food and decent service. The food was good. No problems there. The service was abysmal. We were seated and asked for coffee and water. The plastic water glasses had chips in them around the rim. We had to repeatedly ask for refills, which we took in stride. We finished our meal and waited for our plates to be taken away. A busy waitress working other tables finally took our plates away. After about fifteen minutes, our Server/Day Manager Annie who ignored us throughout this approached us after we complained about a lack of service. The next dish on the menu came from her as fake politeness in the form of a number of sarcastic remarks. Although we both wanted pie for dessert, we simply requested the bill. We gave her a zero tip and walked out while she made insulting remarks to us as we departed. I don't know about the rest of Yelp reviewers, but I am sick and tired of the belief that however we as customers are treated, we should offer up a generous tip and thanks for bad behavior. Whitefish doesn't have that many breakfast options and after 5 days we had pretty much been to all of them. I can say that Loulas is a very solid spot, with the best drip coffee of all the places, and Wi-Fi! I had the lemon French toast with raspberry syrup. Our waitress said they didn't have huckleberry syrup but the raspberry was so good that I'm grateful that's what they gave me. The hash browns were also on point, crispy delicious edges! I did regret getting a full order of the French toast though, just because I prefer savory so that much sweet stuff was hard to get through. I'd recommend splitting it or just getting the half order and a side of something else. This was also the place with the slowest service, despite us being one of only 2 other tables, but we had hikes to plan thanks to the wifi! read more

Loula's is like a diner. I had the turkey, Swiss, and bacon on toasted sourdough. My husband had a hamburger. Just basic diner type food.

Such a cozy little restaurant. The service is good and hot chocolate is a need to order. I had the breakfast burrito which was amazing and my family was very satisfied with their meals which included the Denver omelet and the breakfast sandwich. Love this place! One of my faves. Dinner menu prices are a little high, but that's no different than most places. So I try to stick to Breakfast or Lunch to be thrifty. I prefer that over cheap. Went here for lunch. It is in a great old building, the original Mesonic Temple. Has a ramp entrance on the side street. I did not enjoy my lunch selection... Turkey with cream cheese and huckleberry sauce. I chose. The multigrain bread and it was dry. My friend has the veggie burrito, which was huge. He liked it a lot. The service as good. Having heard about their pies, we stopped by Loula's for dinner. I thought that I would go for the chicken pot pie but learned they were sold out. The waitress, quite friendly and attentive, suggested the chèvre stuffed chicken breast, and I thought, "why not?" Wow- for lack of a chicken pie I discovered greatness! The chicken breast was accompanied by black-eyed peas and Hopping John with chunks of sausage mixed in. The chicken itself was covered with spices sprinkled over a rich balsamic vinegar reduction, and when I cut it open, hot melted chèvre and cranberries oozed out like lava, blending with the peas, the hopping John and the balsamic sauce. It was amazing! We tried two slices of their dessert pies, the mixed berry and huckleberry-peach, and they were also very good. Their reputation for pie was well earned. Service was excellent, the wine was adequate, the ambience was O.K., after all, you're in the basement of the old Masonic temple and voices bounced off the walls and ceiling, but the food just blew us away. read more

Excellent food. Four of us were visiting in Whitefish Montana to explore Glacier National Park. We had a fun full day and we're hungry but not in the mood to cook. :-) we looked on Yelp and found this restaurant has great reviews so we took a chance. Turns out it was a great choice. We each had a very different kind of food in fact my husband had breakfast. The food was exceptional and the wait staff and kitchen staff we're excellent. I had been wanting to try this place for awhile, so I went on a day trip with my friend to visit her family in Whitefish and she suggested we go here, I was thrilled! And it didn't disappoint! She said they've never let her down either. I got an avocado tomato omelet which came with house fried potatoes with herbs--wow!
