This place seems to be inconsistent with the food quality. I've eaten here twice, and I've had friends in town who have eaten here. Sometimes, the food is fantastic. Other times, it's questionable. My questionable meal was breakfast. I ordered eggs and hash browns. The eggs were over cooked and the hash browns were undercooked. My husband and son ordered eggs with breakfast meats, and they said the meats were mealy. We left feeling disgusted. We had a friend who was in town and wanted to try this place for lunch. We decided to give it another go, and our lunch was amazing. I ordered the salmon with veggies and rice. My husband ordered fish and chips, and he thought the fish was some of the best he ever had. Both of our fish dishes were cooked perfectly and were so flavorful. So, I don't know what to make of this place. I'm willing to eat here again. We walked around Pike Market and I read they served really good crab breakfast entrees. When we got in, the server let us know we could sit on any of the three floors overlooking the water. The scenery really makes the place feel cozy and the beautiful view doesn't hurt. I got a mimosa for a drink. I think drinks are very overpriced but it was a normal mimosa nonetheless. When it came to the breakfast, they did not skimp out on the crab for the omelette. It was so delicious and flavorful. If you get the crab omelette, I recommend adding bacon. Three floors of water view seating and fresh seafood - its not very hard to convince me . We came in for weekend brunch and as expected there was a slight wait but finally after 20 -30 minutes we were able to order and get seated . On the first and third floors, you order first with the cashier/barista and then find a view seat and your food will follow you shortly. The second floor is a bar/sit down area where you wait for the seat first and then order. The view from our table was fun - the ferries crossing Puget Sound , the small island and the hustle bustle of the people walking by at the water front , it kept us occupied till our food arrived .The interiors however are run down and it doesn't look like much .We had - Fish and Chips Dungeness Crab roll Sandwich Veggie sandwich Wild Salmon Fillet sandwich So the food was average at best. Good portion sizes , nice saucy sandwiches but however nothing seemed to make an impression . Lots and lots of fries which I am never going to complain about . I visited Lowell's Restaurant with a friend for lunch. It's located in Pike Place Market and there is some waterfront seating. My friend and I did not feel like waiting awhile for the waterfront seating so we were sat on the second floor without it. The restaurant has a good system to get customer's seated and ready to order. The restaurant's menu has a selection of sandwiches, entrees salads, and appetizers with many including fish. I got the famous fish and chips. The fries were decent. I'm not a big fan of coleslaw so I did not review it. The breading of the fish was meh. One of my pieces of fish had a big bad section in it too. It's great that it's a historic restaurant but honestly I wasn't impressed. I don't recommend visiting this restaurant. read more

I was optimistic about this restaurant because of the long line and location in Pike Place Market. If you want to eat on the first floor or the third floor, you have to stand in line and order at the counter. This is the entire menu. Apparently, if you go to the second floor, it's more of a full-service restaurant. We didn't know about that until we had already ordered. After you order you take your number and sit where you want. The first floor was pretty packed so we went up to the third-floor. At first we sat at a small table across from the window. One group got up shortly after, and we moved to their table. The best thing about our meal was the beans that came with the tacos. I don't normally like beans, but these were really good. The clam chowder was OK but nothing special. The salmon was over cooked and had way too much bread for the amount of fish. The tacos were OK but had to be eaten with a fork since they fell apart. I had a couple hours to kill before headed to the airport. I was at the market and decide on this restaurant, really due to lack of availability. Most of the other places were closed on Monday. Happy chance though, what I ordered was delicious, light and filling. Serano pepper infused Bloody Mary and fish and chips (without the slaw). I love spicy Bloody Mary's but rarely are they actually spicy. This one was nice, had a kick of heat and well mixed. The fish, I was surprised it was NOT beer battered. Beer batter is my favorite but this was a delicious alternative. Very light. I took a picture to show how thin the breading was. Service was wonderful as well. He was very attentive. I had the lemonade, which is actually earl gray infused bourbon with honey and ginger ale - very tasty! I was walking around the busy market and hunger struck! I stepped into Lowell's and so glad I did. It's not upscale at all but the view of the water was nice and the service was excellent! The seafood grill platter was delicious! Nothing fancy but packed with delicious flavor. The crab cake was melt in your mouth yummy. The shrimp was simple but flavorful. The star was the salmon. I just was wrong as you step inside the place is quite big maybe 30 to 50 table with two family floors and and a floor just for adults. You pass the hand written chalk board and read what you order and you think that might be good but just below the boards as you move closer to the counter they are cooking the meals. Now we are talking , you can see what's. They cooking you compare the hearty portions of hash browns and pancakes to omelets to you appetite, are you hungry or are you really hungry. I got the fat met market trio of meats that's bacon, ham, sausage and eggs and bread. Drip coffee and water is help yourself on the family levels , it is as joyful and o hear the clatter of pans and and cooking stuff noise as they make the food. Not knowing what to expect, I went with the safe order of Corned Beef, Eggs and Hash breakfast. It's exactly what you would expect with that type of order, and everything tasted great. One of my coworkers had the clam chowder bread bowl, which I had a taste of, and it was really nice. Creamy and savory, with the clams tasting super fresh. My other coworker didn't know what to order, and asked us to help decide; we went a little adventurous with her order and got the Dungeness Crab omelette. My was that the right move. The crab meat was super fresh and was rolled into the omelette with fresh tomatoes. We were kind of worried as crab isn't normally something you would think about for breakfast. Ok we really loved this place and came EVERY time we are in Seattle! But we went this morning and ordered the same thing " BUT " we just found out our 5 year old son has celiac disease and we are trying to be careful so he won't get a bad bad tummy ache for half a day!!!!!!
