My wife & I were visiting the Capitol for the day and we stumbled upon Anonimo Pizza. The place has an industrial decor with work displays from local artist. Luca & Co., are dishing out slices of heaven - the crust is thin, crusty and crunching which somehow stays intact and doesn't crumble. We had the Margherita Piazza and the cob salad which were both sweet and savory - what a balancing act. They have a nice selection of beers & wine. We had a blend which paired well with our food. I've reviewed this place within it's first few weeks of opening. I've ordered five pizzas from Anonimo Pizza on five separate occasions, and I've ordered the same exact pizza twice. Twice the pizza has been awesome. Once it was okay. Once it was pretty good, but I just didn't prefer the burrata cheese, and this time it was downright awful. Terrible! What set the two awesome pizzas apart from this one: a good balance in the amount of ingredients. Every ingredient can be good, but salty prosciutto needs to be balanced against salty olives and various types of high sodium cheeses. So, sometimes less is more. While burrata cheese easily balances prosciutto, gorgonzola requires a lighter hands. Any ingredient can balance any other as long as the pizza maker understands the various flavors. The pizzas I liked best had just enough of the various flavors, not the most amount of overall ingredients, such as cheese, for instance. The ones I've like least have had a lot of ingredients, such as a lot of cheese, but have lacked any balance. They just had more of everything. I literally took almost all of the chesses off of this last pizza, placed the meats back on, and then ate them. I won't just simply ask for less ingredients because there is no consistency in Anonimo's pizza making process. it might be best to teach the cooks to weigh the ingredients to ensure quality control. read more

Called to put in an order. They answered then hung up immediately. I called right back and said I wanted to put in an order for pickup. They said "hold on", put the phone down, and proceeded to talk to someone in the background about the game they were watching. After 5 minutes of this I decided to hang up. With this kind of attitude I wouldn't want to dare and see what they'd do to your pizza. read more

It like this pizza. Its a very thin crust, not soggy at all, and good toppings. Its not very close to my house, but I've been in the area a few times and have stopped to eat just because im in the area. I recommend trying it out, especially if you love a good thin crust pizza. I actually saw in some of the picstures, that they have a square deep dish pizza that I wouldn't mind trying some time. read more

I make a lot of my own pizza in the Italian style in our backyard pizza oven so our family is very picky about quality. However, after reading an article about this restaurant in Sacramento Bee we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We ordered the 17 inch New York style pepperoni pizza and it was amazing. I highly recommend. We also ordered the Caesar salad and it was very good. The dressing was homemade and tasted like authentic Caesar salad dressing. There were no complaints here, only rave reviews. We will be back! read more

The pizza is different from the typical pizza more out of the box, they've put al lot of thought into they're pizzas trying not to be the the usual fast food chain. The service is fantastic the servers treat you like old friends the cooks are friendly and polite. Some of the best pizza I have tried warm or cold. Just the right amount of sauce. All there ingredients are of good quality. The beer selection is good as well. They do need some extra personal options up there like single slices, subs, small calzones or something but with pizza that good they'll stay in business read more

We love it that we have a really good pizza place within 2 min walk of where we live. There crust is on point, thin like we like it - sort of New York style. We had the spicy meatball - yeah, it's spicy but in a good way. Also, the truffle mushroom. Also really good. Two very different pizzas. Overall, I think their menu has a good selection of different pizzas. We went on a Monday night and they were slammed! So the service we a bit on the slower side, but given we are all suffering from service "issues" at many other places due to Covid; it's understandable. We went to this place upon recommendation by a friend. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was everything a pizza is supposed to be. It's the perfect cross between New York style and Italian style. With a fine cornmeal crust that lifts the dough just enough to get air underneath it and make sure it doesn't flip over when you pick up a piece. Great airy and bubbly crust with some chew but not too much! We will have to try to limit ourselves to only one visit per week - ITS THAT GOOD!!! read more

Honestly, I would love to give Anonimo a better rating, as I had high hopes due to the ratings but it was kind of disappointing. The pizza was okay, but not really flavorful at all. We tried the potato pesto, truffle, and spicy meatball pizza. The first was good, but it seemed like all the pizza were lacking flavor. Nothing really stood out, flavor wise. The spicy meatball had not real spice to it. The pesto was barely discernible, and the truffle pizza barely had any truffle flavor coming from the truffle oil. The pizza tasted unseasoned if that makes sense? The tomato sauce nor the cheese really had any distinct flavor to them either. I would honestly give this place 3.5 stars, as it was still enjoyable for what it was but this place is also kind of pricey. I will be hopefully going back sometime to give them another shot though! Service was actually very nice and attentive. Would give this place a 3.5 just for the service, but I'll sadly have to round down. read more

Ordered an 18" 4 cheese pizza to go. Go to pickup and they hand me a 12". I'm like this doesn't look right and tell the lady at the register. She agrees they messed up and say they'd get a new one the right size in 10 minutes. In my head I thought that was pretty quick to make a fresh pizza but went along with it. I get handed the new 18", open it up just to double check it's what I ordered to find out the 4 cheese pizza is sauce less and there's hardly any color to it like it's undercooked since they rushed out the new pizza for me. She tells me all the 4 cheese pizzas are sauce less. How is someone supposed to know this when it doesn't specify on the menu that it is sauce less? Idk how a pizza restaurant can justify $34 for what is essentially cheese bread. It also didn't have garlic like is advertised on the menu and they gave me New York style pepperoni instead of Italian pepperoni I requested extra. There was more crust than cheese for a 4-cheese pizza. They must be telling their cook that they need to cut costs or something to use this little toppings. The lady at the register seemed to hardly care either, she gave me two little things of marinara sauce and basically shrugged it off. Didn't apologize for the wrong size pizza to begin with or offer me a drink on them while I waited for the new pizza to be made. Makes me think this is a regular thing that happens here. What a scam of a place. Just felt like they had an extreme lack of interest in taking care of its well overly paying customer. Usually don't go out of my way to make reviews but this place needs to be exposed for its fraudulence. Definitely does not deserve its 4.5/5 star rating and won't be going back that's for sure. We wanted to give this place a chance and see if we could add it to our list of favorite takeout spots. Unfortunately, after paying 65$ for two pizzas, we were left disappointed and regretful we hadn't just ordered one speed or massulos. Our Experience:Lady at the counter was very kind and polite but the pizza was lackluster and poorly executed. Crust was stiff and brittle on one pizza--more cracker than crust. Other pizza was better, but again, the crust was just not that good. I'm cool to pay more for quality pizza but what we received was not quality pizza. After our experience we're sticking with one speed, massulos, and pizza supreme being. read more

OK, I'm only inclined to write a review when I eat something that is just phenomenal, and Anonimo definitely falls into that category. They're just getting everything right - at least from my perspective, having grown up eating NY pizzas. The standard pizzas are delicious, sauce is fantastic, they use the right amount of cheese, the pepperoni is nice (both types), and the crust... oh the crust is just wonderful! The funkier pizzas also hit the spot: interesting combinations of flavors that are balanced and unique but not overloaded on the pizzas. And they've had a really awesome IPA on tap the last two times I've been in - what else could I ask for!? I'm glad they aren't any closer to my house or I'd be gorging myself all the time - I'm also glad they're here in Sac because they definitely offer a pizza you can't get anywhere else around here. read more

Margheritta pizza was a disappointment. Crust was decent--light and crunchy, but lacked flavor. Sauce was terrible and shouldn't have been served. It will be familiar as soon as you smell it, and not in a good way. It smells and tastes like that metallic school-lunch tomato sauce, or bad frozen pizza (think Ellio's). House salad was also poorly done; balsamic dressing was a bland, clearly store-bought, product. The pizzas are $20-30 a piece; they shouldn't be serving the cheapest imaginable ingredients. The menu says something about the name meaning anonymous because the mission is not about a single chef, but rather focusing on the craft of making great pizza. I have a different theory--no one wanted to put their name on this product. Aside: the one staff person we encountered was very nice. read more

A few of my climbing friends and I happened upon this place after doing a quick search for pizza close by the gym we work out at. I thought it was funny how they were so forward with saying they have the best pizza in Sacramento, but after having a couple of their specialty pizzas and a beer from them, I can agree it is the best in Sac. I love a family owned one of a kind restaurant. And this has great potential. The pizza was ok- did not get the order right when asked twice. We also ordered the wedge and same thing-just ok and could be better. I do think they could improve a bit to make this a really cool experience. I would also suggest adding some lighter beer options. Real,legit New York style pizza... after coming from New York City and test tasting some bomb pizza, Anonimo Pizza is the closest thing to true new York style pizza in all of Sacramento! I highly recommend this place to anybody that enjoys good quality pizza! read more
