Luce has good selection of different American Faire, including catch of the day, sandwiches, burgers, and pappardelle with short rib sauce (yum). The food portions were large. Service was excellent. They have a full bar with a nice selection of Craft Beers and decent wines. It must be a neighborhood restaurant. It did get very crowded and loud. Two things to consider: Parking can be difficult and bring a jacket (doors and windows are opened). Definitely would recommend and return! read more

Monthly hangout headed back to the bay park area and this was one we hadn't hit yet. Very busy because the place next door was closed for Reno, but the hostess was able to seat 5 of us promptly. Not sure if it's just this night, but it was really loud. Great local draft selection and prompt service had our drinks to us quickly. Started out with the Brussels and a Pisano pizza to share as apps. Both were great and disappeared quickly. Ordered the chicken picatta sandwich...thick focaccia bread and thin breaded chicken pieces. The bread dried out my mouth and the chicken was a bit too "crispy" as it was overdone. I ended up slathering on the aoli to cover. It was served with fries that were undercooked and came across greasy and lacked the crisp I'm looking for in a good fry. Finished with the carrot cake, which was average, and lacked any fruit to help maintain moisture and spots of sweetness, but the frosting was on point! Ambiance is back yard rustic, staff was friendly and attentive, and prices were slightly above expectation. My wife and I visited her Dad in the Bay Park and wanted to take him to lunch and our original plan was to visit the Bay Park Fish Co, but they apparently only had 1 server and the bartender to attend full house of customers and said it would be a 30-35 min wait. We decided to walk down the sidewalk to see if we might like Luce as an alternate and one word to describe the visit + experience - LOVE!! And here, . . . . . . .I thought it was just a bar, . . . . . .but this is an amazing restaurant with a bar!! Based on the recommendation of the staff that came to talk our orders, I had the gnocchi special and I would say, as a global traveler to 69 countries, including Italy, this is perhaps the best gnocchi dish I have ever had!! The gnocchi was so wonderfully al dente and the sauce soooo delicious with the sausage and rapini and brandy wine sauce. And it was so beautifully plated!! Gosh, I want it again now!! Came here with a couple friends and let me tell you, service was excellent, from when we walked in until we walked out. Plenty of beers on tap , mixed drinks, and wine too. The food menu is eclectic, definitely something for everyone. We had the BLAT, Chicken Picata sandwich, white pizza, and the Crispy Lasagna, which my husband said "probably the best lasagna I've ever had!". Been here twice now in the last month and can't believe it's taken me this long to find this gem in my area. Drinks are soooo good, even the mocktails, especially the Moscow mules!!! Luce's is a friendly, neighborhood vibe type of place where even non-neighbors are welcome. We shared the unusual carrot salad and a white pizza. The carrot salad tasted Mediterranean farm to table, with some very fresh, spiced ingredients,quinoa and a layer of hummus on the bottom. The white pizza was thin crusted and cooked perfectly. Yum! Large variety of well priced wines, beers (including a cider) and cocktails. The wine pours were generous. Very good service. Was disappointed that there was no soup available. I ordered the Luce burger (so excited as it had been 2 months since I've treated myself to red meat...) and I have to say it was very average, if that. I found it to be very dry with too much bun and the meat was very bland. I really wanted to like it, but reviews are supposed to be honest..... The fries looked much better than they tasted too, which was disappointing. They were also rather dry and needed a lot of garlic aioli and ketchup to make them taste good. Given all these stellar reviews, maybe I went on an "off" day for the chef. But for the price I paid for this burger, I would not recommend. I tasted all types of flavor from sweet to savory with a slight kick. Loved the crunchy radish on top. It added freshness to the dish. Side potatoes tasted good as well. My recommendation would be to sit outdoors unless the weather is not cooperating. There is a fun vibe to this place with a bar and a real casual kind of feel to it. You can go and laugh and unwind. The menu is full of things that will make your mouth water. On this visit, I got the tuna crab melt and my friend got the burger. Both came out looking amazing and tasting even better. Honestly, my mouth is watering right now just thinking of that tuna melt. It was a melt alright - like Melt in Yo Mouth. Service is really casual and meant to be part of a more relaxed environment. If you're in a hurry, this probably isn't the place for you. If you want to catch up with friends and unwind, then it's perfect. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. I usually head behind to Chicago Street and park on the street without too much difficulty. Just know that you might have to walk a little bit. Bring your FitBit and you'll be all set! read more

I've gone to Luce several times and had so many amazing meals and service, however, this time was really disappointing. I typically get the Pan Seared Salmon, I've had it countless times and ordered it again. Once I got to the middle it was raw, definitely too much for my liking. I brought this to my server's attention (unsure of her name but she was blonde with naturally curly hair) and she replied, that's how they cook it. Now, like I mentioned, I've ordered this Salmon 4-6 times and it's never been raw. I told her this isn't something I would consider eating and again, she just told me that's how they do it.
