Visited Lucia's on Saturday even with a busy house our waitress was doing her best to do her job. I was so under impressed I didn't even bother with pictures. During a recent stay in Canfield, Ohio for a travel softball tournament, five of us parents decided to go out for dinner. I suggested we drive an hour to North Canton to go eat at Lucia's, as I had been there for a work trip in 2015. The food was really good, but my buddy Shannon and I were both disappointed in the portions we got with our entrees. I got the Chilean Sea Bass and he got the salmon. At one point we frequented Lucia's 2-3 times a week. Unfortunately in the past 5-6 months the food has changed and it's just mediocre. Makes me sad because there isn't much in the way of upscale dining in Canton and we used to get a good steak here, quality of the beef is the same. And, with an Italian name "Lucia's" you'd think they could make a decent tasting spaghetti sauce, probably some of the worst I've ever tasted. The fish is consistently overcooked. We stayed away for several months but decided to give it another try hoping for an improvement but sadly on our last visit August 3,2023 we were once again disappointed. Came from out of town and saw this white table top linen restaurant (which means good service/cuisine/atmosphere/etc.). With this included is a heavy price point per meal. If you go to this restaurant, make sure you only get steak. Alfredo pasta is bland, sent pasta back and noodles taste over cooked and cheap for the price. Their appetizers could be made the same or better at an Applebee's so don't waste your money. As for price, you may have better luck at the canes less than a mile down. Also, server was primarily focused on table with older guests and not self aware that we were her other table. She may need to consider improving her customer service for a better tip. 7 yrs later. Lots of changes. I drove 520 MI to dine at Lucia's. Through rain snow sleet and hail I didn't arrive until 9:00 p.m. . The kitchen had just closed. :(. I had picked up my daughter who I had not seen for one year because of covid. We were very sad. The manager was so accommodating and understanding he opened the kitchen and allowed us a fantastic dining experience. I'm forever grateful! This is just one small example of the excellent individualized treatment received at Lucia's. Had my mother's 85th Birthday dinner at Lucia's tonight. They allowed us to come early before they opened to get her in and settled and stay protected. The food was fabulous. We tried Lucia's based on a recommendation. When we first entered, the ambiance was great. Unfortunately the service left us something to be desired. We only got 1 menu and no drink menu. Our waitress arrived quickly and then brought my husband's drink. I only ordered water and didn't get any until at least 15 minutes after being sat when we were asked us for our orders. The waitress looked to me for all of the order, including my husband's. We had to ask for bread and little follow-up to verify the steak was cooked correctly. The steak is also drowning in butter and slightly burnt. Not impressed and will not be retuning. read more

Went there last night for our anniversary. We both had filet mignon, green beans with bacon and onions, and loaded baked potato. Then we had tiramisu and chocolate cake with ice cream and a chocolate mint cookie. Everything was superb and the service was excellent. Decided to go for dinner, have been there before and loved their steaks. This time I decided to try the pasta, I got half order of penne, 12.99 comes with 1 meatballs. Also, salad and their bread. The salad was not very good, lettuce was not fresh. Did not like the house salad dressing. Penne past was not great either, the sauce was not what I expected, sour. Meatball was not good, tasted like a frozen meatball you get at the store. Maybe made with pork. Too much sauce on pasta, needless to say I left half of it. Guess I should stick with steak. My husband had the antipasto salad, 11.99, he was not impressed with it either. So I do not think we will venture back to Lucia's read more

I come to Canton every now and then for work and I try to check out restaurants with good review from yelpers. This place seems to gather excellent reviews. Let's start with ambience.. Quiet, romantic if you are with someone. Table is well set-up and staff seems to be well trained. Service... Host was nice. Though I WONDER WHY OF ALL TABLES, she sat me next to the bathroom. It's either I'm alone or because she knew I wouldn't say anything. My waitress was awesome and very attentive. She must have checked on me more than 4 times. Food.. I started with salad just because it came with my steak. I asked for bleu cheese for dressing and I have to admit, it was good. So far, everything is great at this point. The bread was right temperature and texture, soft inside and crusty outside so no complaints here. Now, everything is going right so I can't wait for my bone in steak to come. Then minutes later, it came. Quicker than I expected but no impact at all on its taste, tender and very tasty, just the way I wanted it, perfect! By this time, my dinner is perfect with my white Riesling. I enjoyed the steak too fast therefore could not finish the rest. My suggestion is pace yourself while eating and enjoy it as much as you can. Time for dessert, even with me being full I could not pass the dessert and ordered ultimate chocolate. No regrets there because just like my steak, it is close to perfection, smooth and just sweet enough to linger in my mouth to savor the cocoa. Tonight is turning out to be a perfect night even if I am eating alone, risk I take when I travel for work. I asked for the check and somehow, I felt this night is too perfect for nothing to go wrong. I want to be optimistic but then I got the check. I was charged $2.99 for the Bleu cheese because it is in house Bleu cheese, home made is how my waitress put it. The dressing that I stated I must admit was very good was not free. Lol. Had it at 5 stars and had to change to 4 because of the Bleu cheese charge. Overall, I would not mind coming back here, the food rocked! read more

First - a caveat. I base my ratings on the price compared to the quality of the food. I will gladly give both a dive bar and a fancy steakhouse five-star reviews if the quality reflects the price. To me, Lucia's earned itself five stars because my food was fantastic and my bill was very reasonable. My girlfriend and I like to patronize the various steakhouses in the NE Ohio area. Sylvester's was our go-to in the Canton area until it was tragically hit by a car and couldn't reopen. Some friends recommended Lucia's as an alternative, so we gave it a try. Overall, we were very impressed. We ordered two glasses of the house Cabernet, the fried mozzarella appetizer, two steaks (a bone-in ribeye and filet), a coffee, and a dessert. After a 20% tip our bill was $160, and I thought our dinner was worth every penny. First, the service was phenomenal. Our waitress was very attentive and took care of us throughout the evening. The service earned the restaurant three stars alone. The food, however, surprised me in a great way. Our fried mozzarella was simple, but tasty. The house wine was very good, and the bread they brought out before our entrees was nice and warm. The salads were very special. They make their own Roquefort blue cheese, which you can get crumbled, in a creamy dressing, or in a red French dressing. I went with the red French dressing... WOW! It was fantastic. I eat my fair share of blue cheese, and the red French dressing with the Roquefort cheese made the salad a special meal of its own. The salad earned it another star. We were at four stars before we even received our entrees. Our steaks were excellent. We both ordered them medium rare, and that is exactly how they were served. A nice crispy outside and a warm red inside, all the way through. They were delicious, and full of flavor. The pasta on the side was very tasty, and their Alfredo sauce has great flavor. Normally a side of pasta with a steak is nothing to write home about, but their pasta tasted like a mini dish of a popular menu item. Our dessert, the chocolate lava cake, was very good, and a nice way to finish off dinner. All in all, I was very impressed with Lucia's. I frequently patronize fancy steakhouses were I end up spending $300-400. However, my $160 meal at Lucia's left me full and extremely satisfied, all while knowing I hadn't broken the bank on dinner. I plan on dining at Lucia's in the near future, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in the Canton area. read more

Large boston strip cooked medium is the best steak in town.. Servers are usually nice & at least mildly attentive even when they're busy.. Now, what i don't like here is how hard they hit you on extra charges in secret when you do any add on (& the servers are told not to tell you or warn you of extra charges & still up sell) for example like mushrooms on ur steak or a "certain type" of pasta instead of linguine any thing u choose will be an instant 5-8 dollar up charge each.. i get it it's a nice restaurant & i have no problem paying the prices i just wish they were more transparent w/their add on up-charges.. not just when they bring the bill like oh surprise! read more

Food was great. Service was bad on a $100 tab for 2. Server had large tables plus our table. We were ignored for 10 minutes after arriving and basically the rest of the night. Server told us that after that big table cashed out that we were the # 1 priority , but I couldn't tell. Food that the server didn't bring out arrived promptly but drinks , the salads and bread took forever Customers that were seated 10 minutes after us had their servers and drink orders. No one from management ever rounded on the diners. I asked for a side of pasta instead of salad , but that would have to rung up as an extra side. Really? Maybe a little more flexibility? Definitely need to look at your server assignments !!! read more

Well the four of us went there for a birthday dinner last night after not eating there for over a year and prior to heading that way we all discussed how we've never had a bad meal there that we appreciated the consistency. Order the fillet and lobster tail my partner had a ribeye and a lobster tail. Both lobster tails were crispy and rubbery. The filet was dry even though it was cooked medium rare to medium. It had the consistency and flavor of a strip steak or sirloin steak It was definitely not fillet. The ribeye that came out was about 1/4 of an inch thick. Needless to say three of the four meals were sent back. The heated butter by candle for the lobster tails was not butter it was olive oil or vegetable oil It was completely clear and the manager even acknowledged she didn't know what it was. I don't know how you could make every aspect of four meals wrong. The lobster tails were sent back and not replaced. The ribeye was replaced with a New York strip which was significantly better but nowhere near what I would expect from a steakhouse. My filet was replaced with a chicken dish that was supposed to have some type of a barbecue bourbon on it and it had no seasoning at all and it was about 3/8 of an inch thick. Sorry to say that this is not the same Lucci as that I had grown up eating in Jackson township. We did have a stellar birthday cake after the staff was accommodating in the manager was apologetic. I feel that they knew where their deficiencies were with the quality of the steak. It should not have ever been cooked or served It should have been pulled from the menu offering that night. It reminded me of the old ponderosa steaks. Again the manager was super helpful and wanting to remedy the problem and they brought out second meals in an expedited basis but I don't understand why getting a decent not even a great piece of meat at an above average restaurant should be so difficult. I felt horrible for the server still tipped her out at 20% even though both meals were pretty much not edible. We laughed jokingly between us and discussed how the stakes were better at the Roadhouse or Texas longhorn. read more

Lucia's Boston cut strip (16 oz preferred) is the best cut here, & holds it own for flavor vs. some of the Hyde Park, Ruth's Chris, & Morton's. The Lucia peppers marinated in oil are a must have as well, especially paired w/ the Italian bread. The hot is just right with a little bite, but nothing that burns your mouth so you can't properly enjoy the entree. The other favorite side is the home fries (extra crispy). I've taken various customers or suppliers to Lucia's, and have not been disappointed. We enjoy sitting in the lounge area, and the background noise is minimal. Enjoy Lucia's when you go, as the staff is wonderful as well. read more

Came here for special anniversary dinner, although we've been coming here for years. Great steaks- even though mine (Boston strip) was over cooked, it had amazing flavor and whatever is in that "Lucia style" butter saved it. Even though I ordered it medium and it came out well, I wasn't up to sending it back. My date enjoyed his ridiculously large porterhouse (no one should eat that much meat in one sitting imho but hey I'm not judging). The baked potatoes were perfect, the salads were good, but I was sad to see we were charged so much for dry blue cheese. The side of broccoli could use a hit of what goes on the steaks- it was merely steamed with zero seasoning. Tiramisu and Moscow mules we're both great. Oops I'm leaving out one of the best things- the calamari was soooo good! Crispy and tender, not a tough or chewy piece to be found! Steak server ( suave gentleman who walks around looking busy while doing minimal tasks) gave me the medium well filet. I ordered medium BUT HE DIDN'T CHECK/ASK. Not the tender juicy filet I remember from here. SALAD WAS GREAT!!! and bread and butter. Went here for our anniversary, haven't been in about 5 years.. I ordered the blackened chicken Alfredo and she ordered chicken parm. The place was nice and the server was okay, she kinda felt like he had an attitude, I'm not sure though. Basically we ate and then the next night we went to another restaurant.. we were talking about Lucia's the night before and she mentioned how her current meal was actually 10x better for a quarter of the price! We both exclaimed at the same time that our food was bland. The chicken Alfredo tasted like it sat in water so long it was just heavy, no taste at all. I still don't understand, hers was bland as well. We wish we would've just got steaks just to see if they got the right. We still tipped 25% but I do regret it now. I don't think we will be back sadly but if you decide you want to get pasta at a steakhouse, just go to Olive Garden I guess.. super disappointed. We ate here recently for my husband's birthday. The restaurant had modern decor, was clean and very busy. Our server promptly introduced herself and brought menus. She was very polite and welcoming but service was slightly distracted and slow throughout our stay. The food was good, but not great. Salads were fresh and tasty. Our steaks arrived hot, juicy but unfortunately quite undercooked! I'm always reluctant to send a steak back at any restaurant as it rarely (pardon the pun) ends up well. Sure enough, my steak came back dry and lukewarm . On a positive note, my father had the Chilean sea bass and said it was delicious. We prefer to patronize small businesses and avoid chain restaurants but we're also very demanding especially with prices being what they are these days. I asked for a substitution to get a baked potato with my dinner instead of the rice and was never told that they would charge me an additional 3.00 for making a substitution which I found to be wrong. Lucia's has been a favorite of our family for years, from 1977, and we were so excited when your new place opened. We have dined there many times since. Unfortunately, each time the quality is a little less than the time before. I got a strip steak which was perfect. Your steaks are always perfect. My problem was with the baked potato. Each time, it's smaller and harder and overcooked. I also love your wedge salad. It's different from most places and it's absolutely fabulous. But to change your side salad that comes with a meal to a wedge, I believe I was charged an extra $7.50. And it was surprising to me that my waitress mentioned three times that the wedge salad should be my meal because it's so big. I was a little embarrassed because it seemed like she was insinuating I was eating too much. I like my salad with my steak and potato. I did take a little bit of everything home. And I am uneasy about the waitress taking my food away from me to pack it up to send home with me. Also my waitress was not friendly, and she was noticeably rushed. We did tell her ahead of time that we're three ladies eating, that we would be there a while, all three of us have been in the food industry, we understood the time/tip concern, and we generously tipped. I don't think she deserved the tip we left. We would be in the middle of speaking to her while she was serving, and we knew not to drag out the conversation knowing she was busy, but she would practically spill the coffee into my cup and turn around and walk away right in the middle of a sentence. She did that throughout the meal. We were there to celebrate my husband, who had passed away, as we wanted a place setting set for him and I put our wedding ring on his placemat. She was informed of this ahead of time by my friend. We didn't want any attention brought to the matter but she wasn't even compassionate at all. I know a lot of this sounds like things that don't matter while you're dining, but to me that atmosphere you get and that you expect in a high end place such as this is very important. In the past, it always felt like such a good experience between the waitress and my family.. just smooth and easy and you left happy. We went to a chain Steakhouse a few weeks before this and I have to say it was better, cheaper, and the waitress was far better at handling her tasks, her customers, and her attitude. I used to get excited looking forward to my next experience at Lucia's, but now it just sort of leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. The owner comments on these reviews as though they really care and understand, but why would you continue with the same problems that I see mentioned here for months and years and not fix it? I've seen the small overcooked potatoes mentioned several times. That is something so easily fixed. I know I could order something else, but that's what I like with my steak. Overall, I don't think I'm going to enjoy the experience of dining here in the future like I did before and that makes me sad. I just feel like the employees could try harder. read more

Wow! What a pleasant surprise. I'm a Clevelander and happened across this hidden gem on an early Fri evening. Sat at the bar. Nice friendly local crowd. Perfect Beefeater Martini and bone-in ribeye. Wow! And the prices, are you friggin' kidding me? Stark Co is significantly less expensive than Summit or Cuyahoga (Cleveland), let alone NYC or Chicago. Portion sizes are reasonable and filling. Lucia's Steakhouse, us and another couple tried this on Wednesday evening. I have been to there lounge for cocktails before and loved the drinks and the vibe, so was really looking forward to trying the food. All four of us were very disappointed. My friend ordered lobster tails that came out way over cooked and tough. I tried there gnocchi pasta with meatball, the gnocchi was okay, but sauce was horrible. My other friend ordered fish that was also overdone. Service was not great, she did not seem to know menu at all! Only positive was that cocktails were great. Live and Learn! read more
