The Rowland one has a buffet bar for appetizers, drinks, and desserts and they offer more than what's offered here. Nonetheless, I still had a good experience at this Chubby Cattle location. First time in this place, and what I can say is "wow!" I will definitely come back here with my family. Best experience so far in a Japanese-KBBQ experience. We ordered over 56 items here and what I can say is that it was so delicious and I was still craving for some more. There was a 70 minute time limit for ordering food. Once it ends, you are unable to order any more food dishes. The staff and service here were very nice and professional and welcoming to their customers walking in. The ambience here was quite spacious inside, I thought it would be small, but it was like a medium-size space with plenty of seating for your family and friends. Perfect first experience at Chubby Cattle ! The host Simon was very communicative and accommodating even when there was a waitlist glitch on Yelp's end. Kelvin as our server was very attentive and helpful in walking us through the menu. We loveddd the wagyu otoro and the different sides. The runners were also extremely on point; every time we set down an empty dish, it was picked up right away. Was here yesterday and I was disappointed. I typically come to only this location because I know the quality of the meats is usually really good. Yesterday was a different story aside of having to wait two hours to be seated, they allow people to make reservations online and just walk in while some of us have been waiting a long time. We started by being 25th in place and waited for an hour in our car , then we came inside because I had to use the restroom and waited in the seating area The host asked for my name to "check me in" , I didn't know why if I was already on the waitlist and somehow I jumped a few spots ahead ? That made no sense As for the food, it's not what it use to be. We always get the diamond package because of the limited items. They were out of ribeye which sucked because that's what wanted. And the meats weren't as buttery as before. Definitely had more of a chew this time with the limited meats. I'm not sure if you guys changed where you get your meat from but the quality of it, isn't what it use to be. My husband ordered the lobster roll and we never received it, a few rounds pass and I had to ask the waitress what happened to it. Shortly after she brought a plate of what I assume were onion rings? That I never ordered? The wagyu nigiri didn't come wrapped this time like it was before in a circle , it was just rolled up like a taco and it was very bloody. I had to toss it on the grill. This place is way out of our way but we've been making the trip whenever we are in the bbq mood since they never disappoint, we know what we are getting every single time. The place is just like any other bbq place, but one thing to highlight is their air vents, which such the smoke so well (other places you come out of and you smell like bbq for 3 days :) not here). I took my wife and mom to this location. It was bad! First off the restaurant had several power outages causing the grill and vent to not work properly causing the steam to go in our faces. We walked into a really hot stuffy restaurant that just feels dirty when you go into this location. The food was not up to par with quality, the premium cuts of wagyu didn't taste as buttery delicious as expected and the standard wagyu didn't taste like wagyu at all. This has got to be one of the worse experiences I've had at the chubby cattle brand. The only thing that was decent was the service. The waitresses were very apologetic for all the issues but unfortunately this was not enough to save the experience. Save yourself some money and don't go here. The Rowland heights location is much much better. read more

We came here for a birthday party and the sense I got was the 2020s version of a 90s fine dining steakhouse. You know - the thrill of going to Black Angus for the first time, but then subtlety picking up its more about the cookie cutter show and decor and less about the meal. The wagyu was fatty without much of the melt in your mouth taste. The service was a bit slow and not at the attentive level for that price point, but then again we were in the upstairs area away from the main stage. This was our first time at Chubby Cattle and our server was so kind to explain the process. We splurged on the Diamond tier ($85/pp) since this option included special meats and dishes x 2. 110 minutes to dine for parties over 6 ppl. You can order from the ipad every 3 minutes. We tried everything from the menu including the ones with caviar. But the star of the show are the limited Wagyu meats served in this wooden chest with dry ice. The quality of the meats is top tier. This location has older facilities compared to the Rowland heights location. This means that this branch has lots of smoke in the restaurant, which means you'll smell like BBQ when you leave. This isn't a problem at the Rowland branch. Overall, the food is good quality. Pretty standardized throughout all chubby cattles. Service was great in the sense that our server was very attentive and kind. However, since they're busy, sometimes they're slow getting stuff out. It took a while for them to get us the drinks we ordered. In general, go to the Rowland Heights branch if you want a more special experience. But if you just want BBQ that's higher quality than those run of the mill chains, this is a good alternative. read more

I've been wanting to go to Chubby Cattle for a while and now I finally had the opportunity to go. Plus, for $55 per person it's a decent price for the quality of food that you get. We came in around 12:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away. Our meal comes with the first drink free so I got the sweet tea. I don't remember everything that we ordered, but I do remember ordering the Full Blood Wagyu Ribeye Steak, Full Blood Thick Cut Wagyu Short Rib, Wagyu Brisket, Prime Angus Finger Meat, Thin Sliced Beef Tongue, and Pork Belly. From the other dishes we also ordered the Salmon Carpaccio, Creamy Spicy Tom Yum Soup, Truffle Fries, Fried Tofu, Steamed Eggs, and King Oyster Mushrooms. We also got sides of Radish Paper and Wasabi to pair with the meats. There was so much food but luckily each plate came with only a little bit of meat so we were able to try a lot of variety. Every single thing we got was great, and the wasabi added a nice kick to it. The only one I would probably skip next time would be the truffle fries and the tom yum soup. The truffle fries were just extra carbs and more of a gimmick because of the truffle oil, and the tom yum soup was way too spicy for me and overpowered the other flavored in the soup. Service was great. They brought everything out pretty quickly and they constantly checked up on us. In the end they also offered Melona popsicles for dessert. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be back again. It is pricier than other kbbq spots but you definitely get what you pay for. read more
