First I will say the food was wonderful, but the waitress we had was unacceptable. I paid $12 for dinner and had over half left in a box to take home. She bumped me and knocked the box on the floor spilling half of it. She picked up what was left in the box, put another to go box around it and gave it back to me. No apology or offer to replace the food. So not only did I lose half of the left overs I paid for, but when I got them home they were all scrambled up and uneatable! This place was great! My husband and I were heading home from the coast and wanted something inexpensive and quick, but not fast food. The restaurant was clean and our server was very attentive. We both had combo plates and made substitutions with no problem. We both really like the egg flower soup and thought that the BBQ pork tasted like in was made in house (like char sui, not like typical pre-packaged BBQ pork). All in all it was a great experience.I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some quick, inexpensive, Americanized Chinese food. read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant. My wife and I went here and had a pretty terrible experience. I ordered sweet and sour pork and pork chow mein. I was served strips of fried batter that had a thimble full of pork inside. My wife ordered chicken with vegetables and was served a plate on which all the food was the same off-white hue. The food tasted like dirty dish water. The service was terrible. My wife was served a cup of water that had a dead fly in it. We had to wait approximately 10 minutes to get a fresh cup of water in a nearly empty restaurant. This is a dirty restaurant that does not treat its customers well. Please choose one of the other options if you are in Newberg. I recommend Happy Family if you're looking for this kind of food in the area. read more

I have been going to Lucky Fortune for over 20 years. It is my favorite Chinese restaurant. Everything I have tried is delicious. Don't listen to the nay sayers. If you like sweet and yummy, this is your place. Reasonable prices. Best Hot and Sour soup, Best Egg Flower soup, Po Po platter is a fun appetizer. For dinner, my family usually goes for the D Family style meal with your choice of entrees. Comes with the Po Po Platter. I could go on and describe everything but it's all good. This is by far the best Chinese food we have eaten anywhere near here, the food here is excellent. The staff are polite and attentive. Their Hot and Sour soup is the best I have had anywhere. The lunch specials are all good, the portions substantial and the the price is right. Their Pepper Salted Shrimp is amazing, the batter is very light and the seasoning is very tasty. The Vegetable Beef has a good variety of vegetables, the beef is tender and the sauce is rich and flavorful. The General Tso's is equally good. My grand daughter loves the Pot Stickers and Fried rice. We have been coming here for 15 years and they are consistently good; you will not go wrong by frequenting Lucky Fortune. read more

I grew up going to this restaurant because they had a great selection with large portions at reasonable prices, and real meat. Over the years their product quality has gone downhill so much I sadly have to refrain from eating here entirely. The "meat" is nasty, fake, rubbery, chewy fat/gristle that doesn't even qualify as meat. The low-mien is greasy and flavorless, the chow-mien is flavorless and starchy, their deep fried items are so bad I can't even describe them. It's so sad that this place has gotten so bad, but my stomach thanks me for not eating here anymore that's for sure. Bring back the quality guys! I know you're capable of it; stop cutting corners because your customers are leaving you. read more

We have been eating here for years. I'm not a big fan of Chinese food, but our family has found some favorites here that keep us coming back. The waitresses are always very nice, and incredibly hard workers. We've been in before when only one is there, taking care of the whole place. I wish they would do a major makeover/scrub down inside though. Between the bar noises and smell, and the outdated old restaurant insides....it could use a TON of TLC. If it were for the place itself we'd run for the hills, lucky for them they can cook our favorite dishes well enough to keep us returning. read more

Ate here the night before our 50th anniversary and was very pleased with the food and the service. The Chinese beer was ice cold and went well with the food. when me and my friend went to lucky fortune we expected better. i called in for takeout and ordered two combination 3 dinners, long wait and didn't call me when the food was ready so i had to go inside and ask for our food even though it was just sitting in the kitchen waiting to be eaten. when i asked the lady for the food and payed she was rude to me. we took the food to the park to eat it and we were very excited until we opened the bag. i started to grab the food out of the bag and place it on the ground. we took the wrapping off and feasted our eyes on the wrong order, they forgot our broccoli and replaced it with some green slimy substance. our fried rice was missing. we decided to move on and just eat our messed up order. the orange chicken (which wasn't in our combination that we ordered) had barley any sauce on it, then i went into the bag and looked for forks and napkins. there was no trace of any type of eating utensils. so i had to call my friend to come bring us forks so we could eat our food. we started with the shrimp, no complaints on the shrimp. the slimy green stuff was gross and inedible. i do not recommend going to lucky fortune, they messed up our orders, being rude to costumers, no forks with order, takes very long to make, and overpriced. would rate it a zero if i could. read more

I've ordered one of their combo meals a million times - ordered it last week and the portions weren't correct. Although, the price remained the same? So, I went in the next time I had a chance and talked to Wilson the OWNER - his response to me was I haven't had a complaint in 15 years and if you don't like it then go down the street. He stated this to me in front of 4 or 5 regulars in the bar. I tried to explain to him it wasn't the taste, it was just incorrect portions and he wanted nothing to do with hearing my legit complaint. I know one of the bartenders and went in the next day to say hi - I was told I'm not welcome in there anymore and I can go down the street. The owner DOES NOT care if you enjoy the food or hate it either way. That place needs to be shutdown for the worst customer service I've ever had. I've been there, and been in the bar, quite a few times and I was still treated that way. So, new or old customers - WILSON does not care and clearly doesn't need anyone's return business in his eyes. I would suggest going anywhere but there - with that attitude towards the people who fill your pocket - he doesn't deserve anyone's money. read more
