I used Luff's to replace a very old furnace in Dec. 2021, based on the recommendation of a friend who had also used them. While talking it out with Danny, he was very patient going through all the options with me and suggested that I should also replace the AC unit at the same time. I went back and forth repeatedly when deciding what to do and ask so many questions and asked for lots of explanations on the why and how because I like to know how things work and the reasoning. Danny was patient, professional and thorough and never rushed to make the sale or get off the phone. The crew that came out to do the work were very professional. They removed a large, old furnace and carried down the stairs and out of the home, installed the new furnace, thermostat, new AC and they left the area pretty clean. About a year later, I noticed some condensation issues from the furnace and I called Danny and sent him pics and he sent the HVAC crew back out to replace an incompatible vent pipe. I seriously was expecting to be ghosted when calling about any issues a year later and was so happy that he stood by the work and fixed the issue. While they were in the area, I told my friend that recommended the company to me that they were here and he mentioned he was having an issue with his thermostat and Danny sent the crew to him after they were done with me. That's amazing customer service! I had three other (higher) estimates before going with Luff's, but I'm really glad I went with my friend's recommendation and would recommend Luff's to anybody else looking for a reliable, reasonably priced HVAC company that stands behind their work. I wish I had done this review a couple years ago and could have provided detailed info on the units I went with and provided pics, but all of that info was a couple of phones ago. read more

I thought Danny and his company did a great job but shortly after we ran the air we noticed water leaking. We reached out about the problem and he had a tech come out and assure us there were no leaks. The leak was no longer visible because it was leaking into the wall behind our kitchen cabinets. It took over a month to find out about the leak. Once WE looked up into the attic, which his service guy should have done, we realized the drain pipe had not been ran all the way out of the attic. Sadly Danny would not take responsibility. So far we have over $6000 of water damage and mold. We are still in the process of fixing. He claimed to be completely clear of any responsibility, yet still offered $1000. Why offer if you're not responsible? The offer was offensive and disappointing. Take responsibility. Most likely you'll have a good experience, but best of luck if you don't, because Danny doesn't admit to making mistakes. He even blamed us for the problem. I'm so glad I came across Luff's ad on Nextdoor. His prices are the real deal, and the service provided by Danny and his team blew away all my expectations. Long story short, bought a house in Fullerton 2 years ago, and the original AC, which was undersized given the house size, gave out. Danny had availability to do the install a week later, but I wanted to get some other quotes just to be sure. Worst decision of my life, all I did was get expensive quotes and delay the install during one of the hottest weeks of the year. Here's everything we got done: Downstairs Lennox EL16XC 16 SEER 3.0 ton Lennox ML180 Furnace Upstairs Lennox EL16XC 16 SEER 4.0 ton Lennox ML180 Furnace Attic work (asbestos abatement, reduct, etc.) Electric panel rewire I was getting quotes for lower end brands in the 18-22k range for a comparable install. Danny and I went over at least 4 different configurations (he will quote you on any equipment you'd like), and made recommendations based on many factors. Danny's price was more than 5k lower than the lowest quote (less than 13k), and I decided to go with Danny. Best decision of my life! His crew arrived on time and ready to work. They were all very friendly, communicative, and professional, and I took many pictures because I was astounded by the quality of their work (will post here). If the attic wasn't so hot, they could have finished everything in one day. At the end it took 1.5 days, but the install was clean and everything worked perfectly. They even installed my ecobee thermostat for me! I'm sure Danny has no problems finding clients, and I'm sure more reviews like this will follow as time goes on. I called and spoke to Danny. He was very responsive and provided a quote within hours. He already knew my home having done the same model in my development. The quote was within my budget and decided to move forward. Called Danny and within a week we had a brand new A/C and furnace. The installers showed up on time. They were meticulous. They covered the floor, setup their area outside and installed the A/C and furnace within 4.5 hours. They checked the system and cleaned up before they left. The only reason I knew they were here was the house was very comfortable. New unit works flawless and is a lot quieter than the old unit. We've been thinking about AC replacement for over a year. Before speaking with Danny, we had received seven different quotes from other installers. This meant taking time out of the day to meet with each of them, letting them poke around our house, and then having to listen to their sales pitch. What I noticed was that prices, products, and service vary widely from one installer to the next. Some seemed professional while others didn't seem to care. Originally we just wanted to replace our 30 yr old AC unit, but it turned out our 30 yr old furnace would probably not work properly with the new AC, so our project scope doubled. After talking to more installers it turns out our duct work in the attic is disintegrating so our project cost have almost tripled from our starting budget. The sticker shock caused everything to come to a grinding halt. As fate would have it, we told a friend of ours about the frustration we were having and she immediately recommended Danny at Luff's Heating & Air. Danny had done her condo and she was very satisfied. She showed us the invoice and the price for the Lennox furnace and AC with installation was very affordable. Granted our house is twice the size of her condo and she didn't need duct work done so I wasn't sure what kind of estimate I would get. I wasn't thrilled about having to set up an appointment and having another guy come out for the 8th time but reluctantly I called. What happened next was a revelation....When I first spoke to Danny I asked if I could make an appointment for him to come by and give me an estimate. Danny said he didn't believe in wasting anyone's time scheduling what he called a "sales pitch". He had been in the business long enough and was able to give me an estimate over the phone. I was blown away! I gave him some basic information and within a couple of minutes he texted me the estimate. I was blown away yet again! The estimate was for all name brand Lennox equipment - heating, air, and coil. Duct work was also included. All this for only a little bit more than what I had been quoted for the AC unit alone. The price was that good. Normally I would say this seems too good to be true but we had the recommendation of a trusted friend so we chose Danny. The installation happened quick, like 2 or 3 days later. The crew was very polite, cleaned up after themselves and everything was done in 1 day. Everything works as advertised. I'm actually getting cool air in rooms that never had it before. I'm so glad I learned of Luff's Heating & Air. Danny made the process easy and affordable. Oh, one other tidbit. Shopped around for a replacement for an 18 year old HVAC that had met it end. In the middle of the SF Valley heat wave, I called on Friday asking for a quote to replace. While their business approach is non traditional, they are professional and the best pricing around. Danny Luff will not come to your house to make a sales call about a new system but, he will quote you over the phone based on your needs. We have a main house with a separate Casita (Guest House) so we need two HVAC units. Danny quoted us on one 4 ton Lennox compressor to replace our 3.5 ton main house unit plus a 2 ton unit for our Casita. Most of our equipment was 20 years old however, our 2 ton compressor was only 4 years old so we did not replace that. We did however need to replace both furnaces and both evaporator coils. Danny's pricing was for all new Lennox equipment to include one new 4 ton compressor (outside), two new evaporator coils (inside) and two new furnaces (inside). The job was completed yesterday and we are super happy with the work they did. On top of that, everyone we dealt with were friendly and anxious to make us happy. You can't go wrong here! read more

I can't say enough great things about this company!! Their prices were the lowest of any competitors and I called alot of places. Danny came out confirmed the estimate and even made it lower than the quote. Where do they do that at!! He answered alll questions happily, I had a old thermostat and he replaced it and installed it at no additional cost!
