So..... We live in Oregon and we where on our way home a really needed to stop for a drink. We pulled in the parking lot and holy hell this place looks like a bar from a rob zombie movie "so kinda scary" but hell you never know right ! It wasn't date rapeish but seriously needs a remodel ! But as for what we can tell it was a local fav, glasses silverware and bathrooms were clean the garlic fries not to bad and drinks could be stronger but overall could have been worse ! This has been my go to spot for breakfast. The service is always great on the cafe side. Sometimes the bar takes a while but I'm usually just hanging out so it doesn't bother me much. The Eggs Benny are fantastic and the country potatoes are my favorite. Like I said my go to in the morning. read more

Lulu's hosted a baby shower last weekend for about 35 people. From start to finish Marci was incredible to work with. The facilities were nice and clean and set up very professionally. They catered the event and the food was delicious. The rate was very affordable as well. When shopping for a location for a large gathering I would suggest looking into Lulu's. read more

An old-fashioned diner next to America's Best Value Inn. Not a pretty site, but once you step inside, it feels homey. Locals seem to love this place as the waitress welcomed some customers by name. Big windows and an airy,comfortable feel to the place. I ordered the San Francisco scramble, and it hit that diner food craving! Nicely scrambled eggs with country sausage and spinach served with a side of hash browns which had that nice crunchiness but a little too oily. Wheat toast was good. I had the senior breakfast special. 2 eggs over easy, 2 sausage links with country spuds and a slice of toast for 6.99. It was fantastic. I sat in the bar because I wanted a screwdriver. James introduced himself and all service was friendly and prompt. I appreciate senior meals. They are hard to find in Redding. The screwdriver was stiff. I like that too. The food is nothing to special unless you go to the Easter buffet brunch. The Bar is classic. The owner is great, and the bartender James is the reason why we come into this establishment... The waitress Ann is sweet and easy on the eyes. James is great convo at the bar and try his fruit punch...26 different alcohols mixed into this drink... and tastes just like its name. Very easy to get caught up and waste half the day away with friends, james, the people watching, and the juke box.... If you do this you will leave with an empty wallet. read more

I first went in with my wife and I asked about the Chalk Board Special and the waitress said that was a lunch special and she could serve it! I was in the bar and it was good eating there. a few months later I took my friend from out of town over to check it out while our wives waited in the car, My friend from Fortuna said he wanted to see the menu first. I brought him in and This Waitress I never met came, I asked what are the specials, She replied new York Steak $24.99 and strip steak $21.99 I said what about the chalk board m she said For Lunch Only! She did not show my friend the regular Menu and my friend said "Lets Go, Too Expensive. Later it was my wife's birthday, We had our two sons. The same waitress who drove us away last time dumping the pricey items on me and m friend. She was clearing the table next to me and I mentioned I did not have silverware! I asked why don't we have cloth napkins we have paper napkins. As she cleared the cloth napkins from the table next to me she said they had cloth napkins because they had a reservation? She then bumped my elbow and splashed water on me carelessly as she was hurrying and did not say anything. Fact is My wife and I ate there with the other waitress and we had cloth napkins and Now paper for a party of 4 on my wife's birthday. I Love the food, place but the one waitress thinks she's all that and a bag of chips and Substandard Service, it;s maybe because of my dark skin. I don't know why I gave this place another chance....the same waitress is always working day or night by herself and why she thinks she can handle it is beyond me. Takes forever to get your food ordered and then to get your food. Isn't the soup supposed to be served right away not with the dinner and not with a layer of scum on top of the clam chowder. The cook messed up my Rueben so my daughters sandwich sat there and was soggy when it was finally delivered. Onion Rings were burned. I had to call the waitress over to let her know I was not happy she is too busy to come check if everything is OK....no its not OK. Get some help.....PLEASE. A $9 Ruben should have a lot of corned beef. Any bar sandwich would have been as good. I was the first time in my life that I didn't tip....I won't be back!!!! read more

AS strange as this sounds... I went there half drunk half hung over with my buddy after a long night of drinking. It was a relatively calm afternoon in Redding...(meaning like 104 at like 11 am) and I was very hungry. So we saunter inside and it seems like a normal place. A diner like place. But then you notice the place is packed. Lots of locals eh? Ok.. so taking a look at the menu I notice they have... CREAMED BEEF AND POTATOES!!! I have not had that in.... I don't remember. And while you are thinking, "why would anyone want to eat that?" Well, it brings me back to the times where... lets not get into that. But the creamed beef and potatoes was awesome. I got the hashbrowns instead of the cottage potatoes. The biscuits were surprising and fluffy. The ham and cheese omelet which my friend got had huge chunks of ham and was cooked very well. Fluffy and melty and very savory. I want to come back just for the creamed beef. They also have a full bar attached so you can have a Madras. (Grey Goose with equal parts cran and oj. try it and you will like it. Its for the people who don't like champagne but want something to stave off the hangover... and breakfast for 2 was only $22 and I got coffee!! read more

After taking a week off for the holiday the Stalker Club of Redding (S.C.O.R.) made a visit to a well established bar in town called Lulu's. The bar is tucked away inside Lulu's Restaurant which we have heard is a great place to eat looking at the reviews. The club found the bar to have great ambiance and is just a great comfortable bar. Pricing for beer is OK for the day and also has both tap and bottle beer. The great part of the bar was our bartender Kari. She was great in service and just made us all laugh. As you read the clubs reviews you will find the Staler Club of Redding (S.C.O.R) looks not only at the bar and the ambiance but puts a lot into the service the bartender brings to the establishment. Kari is one of the best bartender we have found in a long time. Our search in the last months has come up short in finding the perfect bartender or better known as the pick of the litter. Kari fits into that class as a bartender. If you need a place to go to unwind in the daytime we highly recommend Lulu's. We give this bar a 5 out of a six pack. read more

Finally got a chance to stop into this establishment today with the MiL and SiL. Full disclosure requires me to note that I'm related by marriage to some of the waitstaff! It's pretty much what an old style greasy spoon should be -- huge portions of food for not much money. Interior was clean and kitchzy, just the way I like em! Had a nicely portioned burger with a side of coleslaw -- and they were exactly what an American diner SHOULD be. Gross. I decided to give this place a chance because Gold St Cafe was closed but what a mistake. This place defines dive. The food wasn't bad I guess but who can tell when your senses are being overwhelmed by the trashiness of the place? I ordered a basic breakfast, nothing special. Recently went here for breakfast, had a simple breakfast sandwich and some fries, and my boyfriend noticed he was chewing of something hard, come to find out it was a piece of glass! One of our favorite Saturday or Sunday breakfasts. We eat in the bar. The Bartender and wait staff are friendly and attentive. Service is usually quick unless it gets really busy but we are not in a hurry. It's a nice place to relax, have a delicious Bloody Mary and visit friends that have also come in for breakfast, good company and an Irish Coffee or a double-tall Mary. This Restaurant and Bar has the best Food and is always served Hot. The serving size is always generous and the staff is always friendly! I go there two to three times a week for dinner, drinks or friendly gatherings. I always feel like Family there, I'm having my Rehearsal Dinner there since I love it so much! The first thing i noticed when entering the establishment, was that there isnt really anybody, nor anything that gives you direction on where to go. We stood and waited as a table was bussed and cleaned in front of me. The waitress was kind and took our order with haste. We drank coffee and we were having a good time until it seemed as if we were being avoided. Nobody was refilling our drinks, nor asking if we were ready to order. All in all, slow wait staff, decent food, poor service. It seems once we waited our hour for our food, it was brought out to us, then we were avoided again. Catching stares from locals and staff, being glanced over, and ignored. If you guys want some real breakfast in redding, go to Rita's kitchen, only reason i ate at this dennys spin off is because Ritas is closed on sundays. The food is usually amazing but it took over an two hours to get our food. Then when it did come it was cold and nobody ended up being able to finish their good because it was so disgusting. I had gotten the hockey fried steak, when I got it it was soggy and grey. My brothers pancakes weren't completely cooked. The whip cream had been completely melted before it got to the table. Also, our waitress was terrible. I only saw her three times throughout the meal. When she got our orders, once to fill our drinks, and last to give us our food. Absolutely terrible experience.
