Not skimpy on the portions, but sometimes it can take a long time. So I'm updating my review because the first time I went, in 2016, they had just opened and were figuring things out. I've re-visited a multitude of times now and they're doing a much better job. Actually, recently the service level has increased even further with employees checking on you as well on a regular basis. LOCATION & AMBIANCE (Rating 4.25) Well laid out with great outdoor seating especially. I'm not a fan of some of the decor, especially the cheesy quasi chandeliers with utensils hanging from them but overall well done with seating that meets almost any need. SERVICE (Rating 3.75) The service varies based on how busy they are. When they are slammed with phone orders things get derailed in my experience visiting. The counter service is always polite and proficient. Waiting times on food have ranged from 15 to 40 minutes. CHICKEN KABOB & GYROS (Rating 4.25) This chicken is especially good and comes with generous portions. It's not heavily seasoned like some competitors and was moist and not overcooked. I've had this entree twice now and the Gyros both times were a little dry from being overcooked or laying out after being sliced off for too long is my guess. This affected my rating for this entree. The salad is a bit dry for me as well. Numerous bites into the salad there was no dressing to be tasted. The rice is great and the pita bread is awesome. Overall, I'd order this again, but it's not my favorite restaurant for Greek food. Hoping they work out the issues. read more

By far my favorite Luna Grill location! They have amazing staff and a manager Brian who is a complete rockstar. Talk about someone who makes it their priority to extend the best experience imaginable to his guests. It's impossible to not have a good day after talking to this guy! I'm never bored of the food choices here, from plated lunches to salads, I always end up enjoying something delicious. The Mediterranean Chicken Salad and the Chicken Kabob plates are my favorites! So disappointed - We have been going here once a month or so since they opened and have always loved the food. Tonight we went, might be the first time in a couple of months, and were totally bummed out. Menu doesn't have the lamb plate or game hens any longer. We ordered salmon and the ground beef kabob. When I got the food home the salmon turned out to be totally overcooked and tough and the ground beef kabob had about 1/3 of it charred and the whole thing was tough. This place has some great food and some phenomenal service. Me and a buddy came 15 minutes before close and the employees at the counter as well as the kitchen were the pleasant and happy. Most of the time my experience with employees at restaurants soon to close aren't always the happiest. They're usually worn out tired and kinda mad that you arrive so late. I usually feel really bad. These people here were incredibly happy, nice, and pleasant. I apologized for coming in late and they all eagerly told me it was no big deal. I love that kind of service. It will bring me back again. Rude employee at Dana Point Luna Grill. I went tonight to pick up an online order. I went to the counter and was not greeted but said i was picking up a to go order. A you g woman pointed to her left and said if it's online pick it up there. I said thanks and found a bag. The order included drinks but no drinks were in or near the to go bag. I asked where the drinks were. Thé same young woman said you need to get them. She handed 2 cups to my friend and I asked about the third drink. She said you need to get that there pointing towards another location. I said I wouldn't have known. Her reply was yeah we forgot to include them in the online order area with the time go bag. No use of words of courtesy or manners like thank you, please or sorry for the inconvenience. No attempt to be helpful or courteous beyond pointing and gruntin. No repeat business! Sadly, there's just really nothing that special about Luna's food. I'm thankful that it's healthy because it gives groups with a lot of eating restrictions more options. But the food is pretty bland. The kabobs are less bland but still not very special. Even the flat bread, hummus, and veggies have very little taste. I've been several times and every time I've felt like I wasted my money. This is one of our go-to spots for dinner out. They have a great patio in a nice spot. The kids love the gyro meat and the fries and I always get the salmon salad or the chicken bowl. There is sometimes a wait when they're busy, but the staff are always helpful and smiling. I hope the lemonade comes back soon! read more

For a "fast food" eatery, it is in the top 80%. The food is fresh, the service is fast, and if you want healthier Mediterranean Style food, it is adequate. The dishes I tried were properly cooked, but the flavor and choices would not make Luna Grill my first choice for a good Mediterranean meal. I have dined in and had take out. The dining in experience was not as satisfying as taking the food home and consuming it there. Ordered 3 times for pickup from here and 3 times they got the order wrong. Ordered their new salads twice. Wrong protein was in salad. Dressing was not included. Third time skipped the salad bowls and ordered Koobideh Kabob plate and meat had tin foil in it. read more

I ordered my food for takeout via phone call at around 8:50pm. I was told that my food would be ready in about 15 minutes. I arrived at around 9:07pm. All doors were closed. I was outside trying to get the cooks attention for at least 5 minutes. Finally, someone came to the door and said they had voided my order and could no longer sell me the food as I was 15 min late and they close the registers 5 min after closing time. I never write many negative reviews, but this has never happened to me. I would have appreciated if it was communicated that you guys close registers 5 min after closing time and maybe give me a more accurate pick up time as the lady said it would be 15 min at 8:50pm. read more
