This would have been a 5 for me except it took a long time to get our food. All three of us had the pitas. I had the Cali Pita and my friends had the Classic Pita. All three of us loved them. I'm not sure why it took us so long to get our food but it might have been because the BNP just let out. The staff couldn't have been kinder and more apologetic. Luna Grill Palm Desert has been one of my family's go-to spots for great food. We're thankful to now have this location closer to our home! My husband and I came for lunch this past Tuesday, and the place was packed! The food and service were both as good as what we've come to expect from the other location. The decor is nice and layout inviting. There wasn't someone keeping up with bussing tables as fast as people were coming in and out, but it was the height of lunch so no biggie. I enjoyed the Keto Luna Vida Bowl with chicken, and my husband got his usual salmon plate with rice and hummus. Everything was fresh and delicious. I can't give 5 stars because the restaurant is cashless. I rarely use cash personally, but it rubs me the wrong way when people who do are excluded from a business. And then they had a tip jar accepting cash tips right on top of the "we're cashless" sign. I don't begrudge the hard workers a well-deserved tip, but I find it a slight annoyance to stare at cash when the business says they won't take it for their goods and services. The cashless policy won't keep me from coming back, but I wish they'd reconsider and accept legal tender from anyone who wishes to use it in order to experience their good food. read more

Okay, first the good! Food was good. Amount of time to get food was okay, but we had stuff to talk about, so again, it was okay/good. Drink selection was good, too! Now the other part... first, like many restaurants, they want you to TIP them BEFORE their performance. Meaning, they want you to tip them without having provided any service yet. We find this offensive, but to their point, we can always say $0 and then tip in cash at the end.... but I would highly recommend NOT tipping until you see their service. (Their service was okay - they brought out the food - just like at McDonalds - so it was fine....) Next, the advertise a shrimp skewer thing for $4.99, which we had, which tasted just fine. But their picture depicts two skewers, with $4.99 on the ad... but in a white (difficult to read) print down below, it says "per skewer". Again, with an ad that shows 2 skewers, and then a large white print saying $4.99, you are misled. And the people near us also felt the same! Lastly, and this is management not being taught correctly, so the employees just do as they're told.... they actually (after 8pm, if a 9pm closing) start putting up chairs on tables so that clients do NOT sit there.... as if saying, "We're closing soon so take it to go." All this at 8:15pm. The problem with this is that as we're attempting to enjoy our meal, the employees are putting chairs up next to us, not caring that is ruins our meal and we don't want to look at what's under chairs or their feet (which are dirty). Remember, this is a sit-down restaurant that closes at 9pm... they should be doing this after they close their doors. :( Anywho, we'll attempt another try soon.... like we said, the food is fine. But if management hasn't learned yet how to run a sit-down restaurant, we won't be back. Everybody is nice, by the way, so nobody was rude to us in any respect.... unless you count the persons that put up the chairs... on either side of us!!! :( :(.
