First time stopping by. Was in the area and did a quick yelp search to find a lunch spot and landed well at the Lunch Box. Service was nice, guy was friendly and didn't rush us so that's a bonus. Ambiance was a little interesting. It's pretty open in there, sterile, clean. I don't recall much decor but maybe I missed it if it was there. Not usually what I'm paying attention to when trying new spots for the first time Food, well here's where it's a little tricky. It's not that the food was bad. It wasn't but there were issues that I wouldn't return because of. 1. The cost. The price = value just wasn't there. In addition to the already pricy sandwich, burger etc comes with chips but for $3 you can make em fries. I ordered three sandwiches all with fries, no drinks and that was $69 bucks (And to charge $3 bucks for French fries I would need to receive more than 15/20 fries to make that justify) 2. The fried chicken sando is my usual go to and I went for it here. The chicken was actually seasoned nicely as was the breading but the amount of breading compared to the chicken was WILD. Sandwiches ordered: Kimchi grilled cheese $17 plus $3 fries Tuna melt $18 plus $3 fries Fried chicken sando $16 plus $3 fries I won't be back. I could see spending those prices if the food was like PERFECT and worth it but unfortunately these fell wayyyyyy short and cost wayyyyyy too much. read more

We bombarded this place, 20 click clacky Lycra cyclists and they delivered. The sandwiches are bomb and the service is good, they work in earnest. This was an emotional experience...the quality was supreme, the pickle was a palate cleanser, the chicken was juicy and fresh, the flavors balanced each other fabulously and the ambience was unpretentious for the fine quality. I remember trying Lunch Box as a pop up over at Old Possum Brewery, so I was very excited to hear they opened up their own store front right down the street from me! Located right off of Sebastopol's Main Street. Blink and you'd almost miss it. It's a small spot tucked right next to Cooperfields books in the old East West Cafe spot. Inside the restaurant they have a large open space. Very clean with minimalistic design and cute art on the walls and happy plants throughout. Order at the counter first, they'll give you a number and the take a seat at any of their many tables or belly up to the bar stools and get a little show as you watch them cooking. They offer locals beers as well as a variety of non alcoholic beverages as well. Their food menus is mostly meat forward, from burgers to sandwiches, but they also offer meat alternatives such as the impossible burger. Service was very friendly and helpful and pretty darn fast for the food. I ordered the veggie burger and dirty fries, with the bacon on the side for my partner and he got the grilled mortadella hoagie. Let my start by saying the burger was right on the money, ingredients were all fresh, it was a fairly big portion which nearly filled me right up. What really stole my heart was their dirty fries! The chèvre ranch tossed all over hot fries, YUMMMMMM! Then considering all the extra toppings on top really made those fries some of the best I've had! I was told the grilled mortadella was really well done as well! Prices are a little steep, but worth it for me for the quality and supporting a new joint! :) Highly recommended! read more

Great spot located in downtown Sebastopol. Came here for an early dinner and they have a happy hour for certain sandwiches between 4-6PM for dine in only orders. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was a flavor bomb and one of the better fried chicken sandos from a taste perspective I've had in awhile. The crust on the chicken was a little thick for my liking and the chicken was a tad on the saltier side but overall I was really impressed. You can also sub the chips for fries for an extra $2 and get a side of the garlic aioli for free (you won't regret it)! My husband got the smash burger which he also really enjoyed. My friend and I ordered the loaded fries to split. They were decent, but overly salty and the sauce was a little too tangy for my preference. I ordered the prosciutto melt because it sounded amazing. Unfortunately it was so so salty to the point where I only took a few bites before I had to put it down. I couldn't even finish it. My friend also had an overly salted dish that she barely was able to eat. Was really disappointed since I'd heard such good things about this place. WOW! So good! I got the rachel sandwich that comes with turkey and coleslaw which was huge and tasted so fresh. The bread was definitely the best part as they toasted it to perfection.
