I had a terrible experience with Luxury Home Remodeling (LHR) and their representative, Shalom. I am writing this to warn others, as the project was defined by poor communication, significant delays, and subpar workmanship. From the outset, communication was a major issue. We were never advised of necessary preparation steps, such as applying self-leveling compound to the subfloor, which I had to discover on my own. Furthermore, the company failed to order our flooring materials in a timely manner. Despite providing our selection weeks in advance, the order was delayed significantly. This lack of coordination caused major disruptions to our schedule and forced us to incur unnecessary expenses, such as boarding our cat and taking extra time off work. It also forced us to live out of a hotel for several weeks longer than expected. The quality of the work itself was unacceptable. We encountered numerous issues including: Improper subfloor preparation, resulting in noticeable high and low spots. Incorrect installation of molding and expansion gaps. Use of damaged flooring planks. A constant need for us to provide oversight to ensure the job was done correctly, as the contractors appeared unable to complete the work without constant supervision. Luxury eventually offered a credit for the unfinished work when the subcontractor finally (finally, after 6 months!) admitted that he didn't have the expertise to finish the floors correctly. Beyond the installation issues, the job site was left in a deplorable state. We dealt with excessive concrete dust covering most surfaces of our home and trash and materials being left out in the elements. Whenever we raised legitimate concerns, we were met with excuses rather than accountability. The entire process was a source of constant, high-level stress. We tried to fire Luxury from the project, but Shalom refused unless we signed an excessive NDA. Not only did he try to prevent a bad online review, but he didn't want to allow us to even talk to our friends, family or insurance company about it. Here is his exact language: "Customer agrees that, as part of this termination and settlement, they shall not publish, post, or communicate--directly or indirectly--any negative, disparaging, critical, misleading, or harmful statements, reviews, or comments about Luxury Home Remodeling Inc. on any online platform / website, social media site, review website, forum, or other public or private medium." We had to contact the Contractor State Licensing Board to resolve things. The project was supposed to take less than a month, but dragged on for 6. I strongly recommend looking for a different contractor, as I deeply regret choosing this company for our home repairs. read more

We wholeheartedly recommend Luxury Home Remodel: they are communicative, thorough, and well-paced. As our renovation was unplanned (toilet overflow and water damage!), time was of the essence and we were in what could be a very vulnerable position. Mark and Shalom led us through the process clearly and kindly, and we determined what we would purchase, what LHR would purchase, and the expected costs of materials and labor for each part of the remodel. There were no surprises. The best part of working with LHR is their communication. We received morning and evening video digests of their work, and any questions they had for us could be immediately answered in our whatsapp group. Anyone working in our home was on the chat, so we were all informed and therefore all on schedule. Decisions we might have had to make (where to hang a bar, tile pattern) could be quickly communicated, and saved a lot of time. It was so smart and helpful. At the end of the job we received a list of all materials used, and the chat will be kept open in the event we need to follow up. They are committed to client comfort and satisfaction. Each person who came to our home had a positive personality. They would set up to minimize mess and disturbance, and then clean up each day. Due to a leak we had to have water mitigation and practically our whole entire home renovated down to the studs and I cant even express how thankful we are to the Luxury Home Remodeling team all of their staff communicated things in layman terms and everything was done quickly and timely so that we could move back all our belongings and put this past us. I know for a fact my family would say that they deserve even more than 5 stars for their dedication and hard work to get us back into our home. Not one day did we walk into the home and see anyone slacking they were all working diligently and it made me feel so appreciative that they actually cared to finish the project on time. That being said they really did a great job in making sure no corners were cut on the work itself everything was done to code and it looks fantastic and a plus was that it was way better than what we had before. Their architect went over certain things in regards to bringing things up to code and I don't know if other companies do that but I surely did like that I was in the know about what needed to be done. In the end the work was finished ahead of schedule thanks to their hardworking team. Mark has been my turn to guy for renovations. I buy and flip houses close to every 5 months. I have used him now twice. The first time I told him what essentially what I wanted to do which was essentially to modernize and make the house more turn key and wow he delivered everything with very minimal effort on my part. I literally sat back and never needed to utter one word that's how well the project was handled from a to z. He was ahead of schedule I liked that he over delivered on the date-I've worked with other contractors before that required much more miro managing on my end and not only that but behind schedule. None of that nonsense with Mark it was such a wham bam thank you mam scenario that I hired him for the next flip and AGAIN he turned it out. Nothing but praise for Mark and his company and our relationship together he's already improved my profit margins and if your an investor like me your going to want someone looking out for your pockets and save you the time money and hassle and just get on with the show. Luxury home remodeling company was AMAZING to work with! They recently finished to renovate my kitchen and now it's just a dream! First of all, when we just made the appointment they were very nice and answered all my questions and Concerns. They were able to squeeze me in short time because of some water damage that appears in my kitchen. It started out like that but anyway I wanted to remodel the entire thing and had been meaning to but this just gave me the excuse. Mark arrived on time and had a lot of patience to all my questions ! This is probably the best contractor company I've ever used & have continued to use for now a second project. I was able to flip a house that they redid the kitchen in and move into the house of my dreams. The lot and the view is amazing the inside like all Bay Area homes were of course dated. Anyway I did have them redo the kitchen and update other things through out the home. Kitchen gutted and redone, flooring, paint, redo the deck, roofing redid. I did a lot and the best part they always stay in my budget and it's a one stop shop you work with a project manager( I worked with David) and from the moment you talk with him you just know you are in good hands they have tons of project photos they have done to reference to you and gather inspiration from and their team gets everything done so quickly. We have used LHR before for our current home and because of the excellent experience hired them again for 3 rental units that needed a lot of TLC & renovations. As with any home project, there are always situations that arise but they can easily resolve any issue that appears to be complicated and to you (as the customer) but they make it appear small in the way they tackle it. I wanted him to take a look at my kitchen and see what we could do to make it look more modern because right now its just blah and I want a little more updated. After having he appear for a price quote, we understood there was far more work that needed to be done. We ended up doing a full remodel and expanding our shower a bit. I got this home knowing it's a fixer upper and I just really wanted to get it updated just as soon as I could and in budget for a flip. My family started a pool renovation + add bbq and decking. We are very excited to have it done just in time for the spring and summer.
