We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday so I was looking forward to try out. It was a cozy, friendly and warm restaurant with fewer than 40 seats. I was surprised that I didn't notice this place before. There were two menus, one was a la cart, the others was fix price for three courses. To get your best buck would be the latter. The server told us about the special for today. It was full house but the server was efficient and attentive. While we were waiting, there were complimentary bread and butter on the table. I loved my French onion soup. The flavor was cheesy but not too much. The filet mignon was tender and the brandy sauce was flavorful. For dessert, I ordered creme brûlée. Some of the crusts color were darker than others and I preferred mine darker too. The bread pudding tasted amazing too! I noticed that only two chefs worked in the kitchen. Tldr: Must eat ALL the things!!! Ordered takeout to celebrate our anniversary during lockdown. I've been meaning to try this place, but hadn't gotten around to it until now. We ordered: Dungeness crab cakes, chicken picatta, smoked salmon salad and creme brulee. Everything was SO FREAKIN GOOD!!! The presentation was on point (even with takeout)! The flavors were so multifaceted; delicate and bold all at the same time. Unbeknownst to me the mains also came with some perfectly seasoned and grilled veggies and scalloped potatoes (which were delicious) to make it a full meal. They even included complimentary dinner rolls (which I was not expecting, but suuuper excited to get). One other thing you should know about me is I am a creme brulee junkie and this is the best creme brulee I've EVER had. I can't wait to try everything else! I had dinner here last week. While the restaurant is rather understated in appearances. OMG the food is amazingly delicious. I met the gracious owner and she was so accommodating. She's like someone you really can root for during the times of uncertainty and the Pandemic. She's a treasure . One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a very long time, and I'm fairly picky. We tried it for Seattle Restaurant week. The food was incredible, from the warm bread, the appetizer, the French onion soup to the main course and last but not least the wonderful desert. I had the filet and my fiance had the rib eye. They were both very good. Theycame with a lovely mix of veggies and delicious scalloped potatoes. For desert we had the creme brulee and tiramisu. The creme brulee was one of the best ones I ever had. As if that wasn't good enough, we also had a wonderful waiter, who was as good as it gets. We never had to ask for anything. He just anticipated what we might need. I just wish they would do lunch and not just dinner, so I could visit with my girlfriends during the day as well. read more

The food was okay--I appreciated the salmon not being overcooked and actually thought the dessert was the best course from the prix fixe menu. The potatoes and roasted vegetables were quite greasy. The service is the reason why I'm giving three stars. The place is understaffed with just two waiters to probably 40-45 people total. Each time we were trying to grab the waiter's attention for ordering, we would be told, "sorry, I'll be right back." This happened several times as the waiter had to serve the food hot to other customers and take away dirty plates. It took half an hour for the waiter to finally come take our order after all the parties have arrived. First and second courses came within a reasonable amount of time, then it was another 30-40 minutes of trying to get the waiter's attention for ordering dessert. It's a cute enough restaurant for me to come back. Maybe we'll have better luck next time with the service! read more

Service:2/5 We noticed our place settings did not include forks after our appetizer was served. It took 5 minutes to flag someone down. Our glasses were only refilled towards the end of the night when we were getting dessert. The serving times seem to be completely random depending on server. The table next to us who had seated first got their food after us 50% of the time. Value:4/5 I came here on valentines day at 9:00pm and the Menu was $58. More expensive than usual because of the occasion but not as inflated as other restaurants were. Fantastic food, excellent service, and a cozy white table cloth atmosphere make for a superb place to impress a date. The bread came hot out of the oven, and food was also on very hot plates to keep your food from cooling too quickly. We had duck breast and halibut, both of them delectable. Many fancy dining places will serve small portions, but Lynn's Bistro will give a fair portion that is just right. Good plating on appetizers and main courses. Pace of the meal was timed to perfection due to attentive service staff. We had an exceptional experience, and I would say this is one of the best places for fine dining on the East side. My husband and I don't remember when was the last time we asked for bread to wipe our plates clean.... It is not our usual practice, but here it was so good that I ate as much as my husband AND wiped my plate clean like my husband---who is almost 2 times my size! Well plated, perfect flavoring, very friendly server and chef (who was visibly hardworking)...we came home and emailed extended family to recommend this place. We will be back again, soon! Excellent french food! Lynn's Bistro is a hidden gem in downtown Kirkland. I would have never thought to come here if it wasn't for a friend's referral. PROS: Ambiance: It is a rather small establishment seating about 40 people at once. The restaurant is furnished with clean white tablecloths, fresh flowers and low lit candles giving it a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. Service: I've been here quite a few times and the service has always been consistency good. We are always greeted right away. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. The food: They offer a 3 course prefixed meal for $35 or $45 which is very affordable for the quality and quantity of food. Everything is also offered a la carte. I always dine in during dinner time so i am not familiar with the brunch/lunch menu. To start us off, fresh baked bread is served with a butter. Not your typically dinner roll but rather similar to a biscuit. I always try to not fill up on bread and butter but it's so fresh that i can't help myself. I usually order the french onion soup as a starter. It always comes out super hot-straight from the oven (which i love). With just the right amount of cheese slightly charred on the outside giving it a little crunch as you dig into it. The broth is very tasty, not too strong but not too bland. For my main course i usually order the crab cakes. This is not your typical crab cake with bread crumbs or any other fillings. Every bite is filled with chunks of fresh dungeness crab meat topped off with a lobster sauce. This is probably the BEST, richest, freshest and filling crab cake I've ever had. I highly recommend trying the crab cakes! My husband usually orders the rib eye steak with Roquefort Cabernet sauce. The steak is always prepared exactly how he asks for (medium-rare). I always try to sneak a bite of my husbands food. The sauce is very rich which balances well with the marbling of the tenderized meat. Each entree is served with a side of mixed veggies and scalloped potatoes. The potatoes are very delicious, thinly sliced and not over powering with the cheese. For desert I usually order the creme brulee and my husband orders the chocolate mousse cake. I am a huge fan of creme brulee. There's a tiny hint of orange to the custard which gives it a kick to each bite. As for a chocolate mousse cake, i thought it was a little rich but we ordered a side of vanilla ice cream to balance it off. CONS: I can't think of anything negative to say but street parking can be hard to find. TIPS: Wait time can be long since it's a smaller restaurant. Make reservations ahead of time! read more

The element about Lynn's that sticks with me is that the place has a "grandmotherly" feel to it. If you want to have the ambiance catering to taking your 61 year old aunt Rhoda out for a very nice meal, Lynn's is for you. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Food is excellent. It was a few weeks ago I was here. I just remember being very pleased with everything. But their legendary French Onion Soup did not blow me away. Very nice wine list with fair prices. Service was excellent. Might have been because we were the only ones there after 9:30. No rushing at all. The place is open a hair bit later than some others in the immediate area, which is why I think I chose it. I would give them 3 stars, but I threw a fourth in there for the nice service. read more

Restaurant Week continues and tonight I had another RW dinner. First, this is the cutest, intimate, Parisian style restaurant (it seats 32) I've been to in the PNW. The waitstaff play many roles from seating you, waiter, bus boy, etc. Our server was attentive and great at multi-tasking. We never had to wait and his timing in service was perfect. For my starter, I had Chicken Liver Pate. Amazeballs! The portion was generous, served with a sharp mustard on the side, cornichons (I love those!), and crispy, buttered crostini's. It sat upon a crips salad that included pickled red onions, yum! My friend had the escargots, her reaction was 'amazing, rich in garlic and butter, and full of flavor'. Sounds like you can't go wrong with either starter. For my main course I chose the Market Fish of the day which was sword fish. It was cooked perfectly and in a nice creamy sauce. The au gratin was cheesy and had a polenta type consistency. Could have had a huge bowl of this all by itself! The vegetables were al dente, which is exactly how vegetables should be cooked! Dessert was creme brulee, my all time favorite dessert, and this one helped solidify Lynn's Bistro as one of my top 5 restaurants in Kirkland. You must try this restaurant! I've walked by the unassuming storefront of this place multiple times. It was only through yelp that I discovered this hidden gem in DT Kirkland. It's a moderately sized establishment that can fit a good 40 people or so. Came here with a party of 10 for a friend's birthday dinner. Pretty nice french dining ambiance. Slightly low light with candle lit tables. Fairly intimate. First of all, the service here is excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable servers with good recommendations. Throughout the night they accommodated our every whim and fancy: filling our water, adding an extra person to the end of the table, serving a cake we brought in with candles, sending back steaks, and giving us a discount to the fixed price menu because we were too full to order dessert. They were a little busy with only 2 waiters, but they worked hard and earned it. On to the food. First thing they deliver is a basketful of complimentary fresh bread loaves with fancy swirls of butter. Just from the fresh whiff of the bread you can tell they are going to be good. The bread has a nice crunchy crust, but soft fluffy insides. The butter is pretty light on flavor, if you want you can add some extra salt. But the butter makes the texture of the bun all the more soft and smooth. Excellent buns. Also goes well with the soup. Don't be afraid to ask for more. They are good. The french onion soup wasn't bad, but not particularly outstanding to me. Soup was quite light on flavor, and there was a huge dose of melted cheese, a little too much for me. The curry tiger prawns are somewhat sweet and tangy. Pretty good, but a touch expensive at $24 for 7. You can order one crab cake + prawn as an appetizer a la carte. Or get the crab cakes entree which has 2. They don't look like much, but they are seriously packed with real crab meat. No filler! The lobster sauce with it makes the rich, creamy crab cakes pack a wallop of delightful flavor. These are probably best crabcakes I've had in Seattle, easily a 5 stars by themselves. They probably have a fair bit of butter or stuff, because they are quite heavy even though there are just 2 of them. We also got the rib eye. We ordered them medium-rare but they were medium-well-done when we got them! They serve all the food on oven heated plates that are super hot. It keeps the food hot for longer, which is probably necessary when trying to serve all the dishes the same time for a group of 10 people. Likely the hot plates continued cooking the steaks for a while. Anyways when we mentioned it to the waiters, they took back the steaks and sent back new ones that were a good medium-rare. The steak was a solid juicy rib eye. The cheesy Roquefort cabernet sauce they put on top of the steak was slightly overpowering though, might be better to get the sauce on the side so you can taste more of the meat. Overall excellent service, solid food and a great place to have an intimate date. Would come back just to have the crabcakes too. read more

I can't recommend this place enough! Hubby and I typically enjoy asian food for casual outings but prefer something a bit different for special celebrations, and we've been coming to Lynn's for our last few anniversaries. We are so glad to have discovered this place and we are consistently impressed by Lynn's culinary excellence. Lynn has really opened a whole new world of culinary wonders for people like us who have never been to France. My favorites are the escargot appetizer, heart of romaine salad with crab, and their entree size crab cakes with the amazing lobster sauce. Their rib eye steak from the $38 menu (used to be $35) is also such a steal and is always cooked to absolute perfection. Hubby mentioned that he has never seen me steal this much red meat from his plate voluntarily. (It says a lot for someone whose diet is consistently 90% vegetables and white meat.) Oh, and I am typically a Keto dieter, but I always manage to finish their desserts in a matter of minutes...the French crepe, and bread pudding, the mousse...I just needed to keep telling myself that my diet goals can always wait until the day after dining at Lynn's. The desserts are just right amount of sweetness, not overly sweet for our Asian taste buds. The only thing we would like to suggest to Lynn is to hire more service staff. While everyone is nice and friendly, they certainly seemed too overworked to be attentive to guests' needs. Overall, this place is truly a gem. I finally had my birthday lunch at Lynn's Bistro in Kirkland. Classy. I had the Boef Burgeoine and my wife had the quiche (real men don't eat quiche). Portions were generous so we took home leftovers. Fresh baked rolls and butter and all were delicious. We'll be back. Pricey, but good white-napkin service. Terrible parking--we were in a 30-minute slot out front--the only one. The adjoining lot is signed for towing so we didn't dare. But wait. The first time we tried to eat there was on a rainy and cold Tuesday afternoon about two weeks ago. We called ahead to get reservations but got an answering machine. They were closed on Monday, so we took a chance. Big mistake. Even though it was Tuesday, they had closed the whole place (both sides) to cater another event. There was nothing on their website to tell potential customers of this off-schedule event. They did call us Tuesday afternoon after we got home to tell us they would be closed. We wasted a trip and they ruined our anniversary dinner. I called ahead this time and they answered quickly and double-confirmed they were REALLY open. Four Stars until the "incident." read more

This place is simple, and elegant. Nothing fancy, just subtle pastel walls with fake plants, and a dim candlelit ambiance. If you want a nice, calm atmosphere for dinner, this bistro is perfect. Everyone speaks in low voices and most are 40+ lol. Perfect date place! The bread was good. Like really good. As was the Chicken Liver Pate. I think the Pate was easily my favorite thing, and the portion was surprisingly generous. The dish came with two triangles of pate, and my friend and I couldn't even finish one of the triangles. Definitely good stuff though. I ordered the swordfish and I didn't really like it. You know when you go to a restaurant and you order something that sounds interesting, then after you've given up your menu you realize that you've had something similar before and didn't like it? That's exactly what happened. I tried the Duck Breast, and that was not bad but not something I would order. I'm rating this 4 stars because the service was great and the Chicken Liver Pate was excellent. While I'm sure I know people who would enjoy this place I'm not sure I would go back. The menu is geared towards prix fix and is comprised of 3 course for $35 or $45. There are a la carte items but for the biggest bang you'd go for the set menu. We had the shrimp ravioli, which was arguably the best dish, french onion soup, ribeye, crab cakes and desserts. Everything was rich, although heavy at times, but generally yummy. We ordered this Ala cart from the SRW menu. Crab cakes (5/5 stars) Steak : 5/5 amazing, huge portion, cooked perfectly, appropriately seasoned. Deserts were perfect ending. Alot of food for the price, not sure how they make it work but it was completely packed the entire time. Beer is $6 and wine is $7-11 per glass. Bonus is that there were a number of items not on the SRW menu, which was a pleasant surprise but made it harder to choose like crab cake appetizer, salmon, lentil soup. read more

Lynn's is always a great place for a romantic and excellent dinner. My wife and I had dinner a Lynn's on Nov. 18th to celebrate my birthday. Everything we ate was wonderful, and the service was equal to the food. I have one issue though. The dining room was lit up like we were going to experience a Friday night football game. A minor quibble, but it took away from the ambiance. I would suggest to Lynn a dimmer setting. Having said that perhaps it was simply a case of a staffer forgetting to turn down the brightness setting. It certainly will no restrict me from dining at Lynn's Bistro again, and again. read more
