I met one of my friends here for brunch over the weekend. We sat outside since I had my pup. We started off with cocktails while we reviewed the menu. An Old Fashioned for my friend and a French 75 for me. My drink was bubbly and refreshing. My friend had never tried Escargots before and even our server recommended it. So we ordered Escargots for an appetizer which were absolutely delicious. Lots of melted cheese and flavor in the dish. My friend enjoyed it more than he thought he would. There was also complimentary bread provided which we used to dip in the sauce. As my main dish, I got the Short Rib Benedict and my friend enjoyed his Lyon Hall Burger. My Benedict had plenty of short rib and it was so tender - so good! Great food and drinks all around. Service was good as well. Cool French restaurant with a large corner space with lots of outdoor and indoor dining.

While we don't go as often as we used to, we did go about a month ago and things are just the same. Good service, good food, and good vibes. It's kind of the neighborhood after work go to for us - a martini and some salad or seafood. Everything is fresh and seasoned well. Not overly salty or too bland. It'll stay in rotation for us when we don't feel like a quick simple sit down meal.

Pretty solid place with good French options. I wish the French dip had more beef though, it wasn't much meat in there and a lot of bread. The bread however was soft and good quality. The grilled octopus was also pretty good.

I was so excited to go to this restaurant for my best-friend's birthday brunch. We had reservations for 9 and they were able to accommodate us on the top floor. The ambiance was beautiful and the food was AMAZING! I would go back in a heart beat. EVERYTHING was delicious. Beignets Shrimp Cocktail Short Rib Benedict Quiche French Dip

I went to Lyon Hall for happy hour on a Thursday. We were able to get a high top table without having a reservation. They have good happy hour deals for drinks and snacks. I enjoyed the SJF cocktail, which was kind of like a Moscow mule. We had a soft pretzel with cheese and mustard but it wasn't very good. I would skip the pretzel next time. Plus, I didn't realize that they bring complimentary bread to the table. The bread and butter was really good. We also had the brisket dumplings, and those were tasty. The restaurant has good vibes. It's a cute spot for happy hour, and I would definitely come back.

Came here for my birthday and was so happy I did. If you have a chance to go here, sit outside, it's very beautiful and cozy. My friend and I tried the restaurant week menu and we fell in love with our food. The tuna tartare was delicious and the panna cotta was the perfect cherry on the top. I also got the espresso martini which was decadent. The wait staff was so kind and inviting. Would def come here again!

Hidden gem in Arlington. Near shops and walkable area we stumbled upon. Service was great and all staff friendly and attentive. We shared a beef tartare with nice presentation then I tried the croquette monsieur. The sandwich came with a choice of side and the potato salad was one of the best. On the weekends order the mimosa kit, worth the value to have a few.

Came here last minute with my roommates, as the other restaurant we planned to dine at fell through. I have heard about Lyon Hall, but did not expect it to be as nice and fancy. I for some reason thought it was more of a bar scene, but was nicely surprised. It was restaurant week when we came, so they were offering a $55 3-course meal special. We opted out and just decided to order off the normal menu. I was surprised with how quickly they sat us. The hostess was very nice, however, our server we felt was not as attentive to our table. We went through a majority of our dinner with empty waters. I had a large lunch so I decided not to get an entree, but instead get their tuna tartare and the caesar salad. I was really looking forward to the salad, but unfortunately i did not enjoy it as much as I hope. It was not made with romaine lettuce as I am used to, and it was drenched in dressing to the point where it was a little hard to eat. However, the tuna tartare I could not recommend enough. It was a nice mix of flavors, and was filling.

I came for my birthday brunch and was not disappointed! First of all I love brunching in Arlington, Clarendon, Shirlington, etc, so of course that's the area I chose. The outside of the establishment is not visually appealing, but inside it was very nice! We were seated all the way upstairs at the back of the restaurant, which wasn't a bad thing bc my friends and I can get a lil loud at times! We alllll started with the biggest, one friend got the shrimp cocktail. That shrimp cocktail was SO GOOD! You only got four prawns on ice, but there was something about them that took them over the top. The beginners were perfectly fried! The creme anglaise that accompanied them was chefs kiss perfect! For my meal I got the short rib Benedict. I get short ribs wherever I can find them, they're my favorite! I did ask for my eggs to be fried rather than poached bc I hate runny egg whites, and it was perfection! Everyone enjoyed their food, and we had a great time! Our server was nice and efficient, we had no complaints there! I would def go back again!

Wish I tried this place sooner - best table bread and butter I have EVER TRIED! no exaggeration. Came here on the last day of restaurant week per recommendation from my sister, and tried a number of dishes. Aside from the delicious tableside bread, we tried the grilled octopus and escargot for appetizers. Both were great, very heavy handed with the flavors though. I love the pistachios as part of the escargot. And hefty portion of tender octopus as well - very worth it! The mains were not as impressive, as we ordered the pork schnitzel and filet medallions. Both were decent, but the bed of veggies the schnitzel sat on felt like frozen bagged veggies. And the filets were over salted. We also ordered a side of fried artichoke hearts, which came with a delicious garlic aioli. For dessert, we got the red velvet cake, but it was nothing special. Overall, very impressed by the appetizers, and the ambiance inside is nice as well. Come here for the bread!!

    Medical boot I am wearing

Not a place for someone that is disabled. I went there for brunch this past Saturday which was raining. There was a puddle in front of the door that I had to walk through wearing a rocking boot (medical device to alleviate stress on foot) on my one foot for pain relief and sandals on the other. My foot was soaked in the sandals. The food and service was good. French toast could use more fruit and whipped cream instead of only on one piece of French toast. I had to use the restroom and didn't want to use the stairs to the basement level so I took the back elevator to the kitchen. I nearly fell. The floor was super slick with grease/oil. One staff person (maybe a manager) said it wasn't grease but humidity. The bottom of the boot had no traction under it and was sliding on the floor. When I left the restroom I didn't want to take a chance of falling so I climbed the stairs back to the main level. The same man came towards me and said he laid a rug down for me. As I was mentioning, I didn't want to take a chance of falling. There was also moisture on the floor in front of the restroom too where my foot with the medical boot was sliding around. If you or someone in your party can't climb up or down the stairs, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Thai Curry mussels- fresh and cooked perfectly
    Charmaine C.

Every time I dine here, I get an exceptional experience thanks to the excellent service and delicious food. We made a reservation on a Thursday night and were promptly seated outside when we arrived. They have an extensive drink menu and we decided to try the sangria specials. Both were divine! The second one was bright and fruity - perfect for a summer evening outside. I ordered my favorite dish - Thai curry mussels. The dish never fails to please. The fresh mussels were cooked to perfection and the flavors of the broth were balanced and delicious. My date ordered the plat du jour which was fish and chips. It was perhaps one of the best fish and chips we've had! Our server CHRISTINA was fantastic! She was professional, friendly and attentive. Making sure our glasses weren't empty and we were happy with our meal. The runners were just as friendly. Our runner accidentally dropped one piece of fish before placing the plate on the table. He quickly apologized and promised to be back with another. Several minutes later, he returned with 2 more pieces! Reservations are highly recommended for this restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

We came here for Restaurant Week - very impressed with the selection of items available on their Restaurant Week menu. This allowed so much selection for everyone in our party. And the food was delicious!!! Everything we had we would order again. The French Onion soup was flavorful with an impressive cheese pull. The Beef Boeuf Bourguignon had so much flavor with tender pieces of beef. Super filling so much so that in order to leave room for dessert I took half of it home. I wasn't impressed with the service. When we were seated and orders taken and through appetizers, service was attentive. However, when they cleared appetizers, they took our silverware and all but one dish - our entrees came out, but no silverware. We tried to flag down a server but after a bit, we took some off a close table. No one came to check on how our meals came out. Our water also was empty and was never refilled. It took quite sometime to have dessert come out, so much someone asked us if we needed anything else and we said we were still waiting on dessert. Lastly, I (like others) found it confusing with the service fee (saying it's not a tip and tips were optional), and then on the check you can add "additional tip". I'm still confused if our server is paid an hourly rate that doesn't insult them if they don't receive a tip or if they still need a tip and would feel stiffed if someone didn't leave one. I wish this was clearer to the diner.

We went for restaurant week. $25 for a starter, entree, and dessert. I had the French onion soup and it was so delicious. Not too salty. Plenty of crusty cheese and a very clean and tasty broth. My husband chose the salad and it looked like it could feed a family of four. He said it was really good. I ordered the bolognese and it was such a huge portion. I think I could make 4 meals out of it. Generous amount of meat too. It was so good. The sauce was not too salty and was very rich. My husband had the lox Benedict. He really loved it. For dessert, I had the basque cheesecake. It was also a very generous portion. It was perfect. Light, creamy, not too dense and not too sweet. My husband had the pot de crème and it was very good. Very thick, creamy and chocolaty. $25 for that much was is fantastic deal! The bolognese was worth that alone. The only thing was that the service was not top notch. My husband specifically asked for no salt rim on his margarita. The server brought him his drink and said "they put salt on the rim." ‍ and instead of taking it back, he just set it down and shrugged his shoulders. My friend asked the server what kind of vinaigrette was on the salad and he told her blue cheese. Turned out it was not. My husband also asked for scrambled eggs, not poached and they brought out poached eggs. Not once did he apologize. I don't know if he was new or what but it was a little disappointing. Overall, highly recommend!

That thoughtfulness is one of the many reasons I was excited to try it. When we arrived, I was initially concerned after learning that the "G" on the menu indicated dishes **containing** gluten rather than being gluten-free. Since many menu items were marked with a "G," I worried my options would be very limited, especially for the unlimited brunch experience. Thankfully, our server, Emma, immediately put me at ease. She brought me the food allergy menu, answered my questions with patience, and made sure I understood what was safe for me to enjoy. While my husband and I were deciding whether to stay, the manager, Antonio, came to our table after Emma shared my dietary concerns. His kindness completely changed the experience. He took the time to explain my options, offered to have the kitchen modify several dishes, and reassured me that their goal was for me to feel safe and enjoy my meal. Thanks to Emma and Antonio, what started with uncertainty became one of the most enjoyable brunch experiences I've had. I was able to enjoy a variety of delicious dishes, the mimosas were a great value, and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the space with natural light. What I'll remember most, though, is how genuinely cared for I felt. Before we left, Antonio stopped by one last time to make sure I was happy with my meal and that all of my needs had been met. My husband had put so much love and intention into choosing this restaurant, and thanks to Emma and Antonio, we both left with happy hearts and full bellies. If you have food intolerances or dietary restrictions, I hope this review gives you confidence to visit Ambar. Their team didn't just accommodate my needs. They made me feel welcome, respected, and cared for. That's the kind of hospitality that earns five stars from me.

The AVAL French Cider's Rosé was perfect. It was a crisp, semi-dry cider that paired well with the food we ordered. GOUGÈRES - 11 I initially thought the sauce was paprika butter, but it's actually the most airy cream cheese I've ever tasted. It's essential with the Gruyère cheese puffs, which were light and fluffy with a subtle cheesiness. BŒUF BOURGUIGNON - 23 The burger was incredibly stacked, standing mighty and tall. Sadly, the bottom patty was pretty soggy from all the sauce and grease, so I had to tackle it with a fork and knife. There was a generous amount of short rib, which was tender and flavorful.
