Came into this place because I saw some beautiful chocolate in the window. I was not expecting some of the best chocolate I've ever had. Not only is the chocolate here a hidden gem- but Sonia, one of the employees is also a gem here! She will encourage you to sample her favorites and will sell you on some luxury chocolate. Let Sonia know what you do and don't like and she will point you in the right direction. She truly makes you feel like a kid in a candy store. read more

This chocolate is amazing. Look I'm a See's girlie, but this is an elevated experience. We got a large multi pack as a gift, and they were all incredible and fresh. Hard pass. First their chocolate is sickly sweet, and odd tasting. Turns out, they use additives and artificial flavors which I only discovered after purchasing. Yeah that's my bad but still Gross. Got their "praline" box but it turns out almost half of them are truffles even though it doesn't mention that in the product description. It's very deceiving. There is a difference between a truffle and a praline. The absolute worst part is, one tiny piece of slab chocolate, I'm talking a 1.75" x 2.5" piece is.... wait for it.... 570 calories. Yes, somehow a 28g piece of chocolate has 41g of sugar in it. That means their FrischSchoggi Tin has ..... 8,550 calories. Yikes. To top it off, after doing some digging, they're doing a bit a greenwashing on their website. They say "organically sourced beans" but what they mean is ONE of their chocolates, the Single Origin Brazil slab comes from Cooperativa Cabruca in Brazil. Literally unless you're buying this one specific item, every single other thing they sell is NOT made with organic chocolate. How misleading, or rather how deceiving. I've had the pleasure of visiting many other chocolatiers and must say there is much MUCH better chocolate in this town alone - made from better sourced cocoa, with better flavors made from real ingredients, and a hell of lot less sugar. Go find them and support them, and pass on these pompous pretenders - your mouth, your wallet, your body will thank you. read more

Always walk past this store when I go to Westfield UTC as it is by the parking garage. Today there was an employee with samples outside and it was on. The sample was of the hazelnut chocolate bark and it was delicious. All the chocolate is imported from Switzerland. It is a little pricey, but the quality is really good. The worker then told me you can ask for samples of anything. I then tasted about 5 different barks inside and they all were delicious. We ended up purchasing some assorted chocolates. Again its pricey but high quality. Think of it as an upgraded See's candies. read more

This a beautiful store with wonderful chocolates. I was greeted at the door by an employee who offered me a piece of milk chocolate hazelnut. It was so good. The caramelized sugar crunch on the hazelnuts was a perfect companion to the creaminess of the milk chocolate. The store itself is beautiful with many prepackaged options as well as being able to pick your own from the cases. The truffles had so many colors and flavors to choose from. The sheets of chocolates were so big and also beautiful with their array of flavors and colors too. If you are looking for a gift, this would be perfect. I am a chocolate lover, and I will always be a customer for really good chocolate. I first saw the store in Irvine and I thought it'd be awesome to have one in San Diego not knowing that they already did have a few branches, but I'm so glad this one opened up and then university city area in the UTC mall but I'm also not glad because this is such a temptation. First off, the customer service is always top-notch and they give you free samples of large pieces of chocolate you can buy either truffles or you can buy the blocks of chocolate, which are yes pricey but worth all the ingredients and the process of Switzerland chocolate that you can get in San Diego is pretty amazing I got the Dubai chocolate, and it was also really rich crunchy and you could taste the salt that they added, but also the sweet sweetness of the milk chocolate. read more

I'm so happy this location opened. Läderach was my favorite chocolate shop in Valleyfair Mall, Santa Clara (Norcal) and so I had to pick some up when this location opened. Got the Espresso Macchiato and Orange-Almond and both were delicious. This shop is perfect for chocolate gifts and casual, quality enjoyment (pricy but worth it). I went to this store at the mall while I was visiting my mother on Friday and came in looking for a gift. When I looked around for help no one was around or available and when I was finally able to get someone to help I believe his name is Kevin. He seemed very dismissive towards me and didn't really seem like he wanted to help me. I no longer wanted his help and tried looking for someone else to help me. Stumbled upon here after lunch. They were giving samples at the door. So naturally, I went in to see what else they had, cuz well, I do love chocolate! I think they would have let me sample every single FrischSchoggi & praline, but I had to stop from getting swiss chocolate overload! FrischSchoggi means fresh chocolate, and yes, I looked that up. Lol! They are the chocolate barks that you can choose how big of a piece you want. So good! Go do some chocolate tasting! The staff was friendly and willing to answer any questions! I'm super ecstatic that Laderach is in town. I've had their quality chocolates a while ago and visited their retail store not too long ago. They serve up one of the most divine chocolates. I especially love the hazelnut and Dubai chocolate pieces. They also have many chocolate gift boxes to choose from and it's an amazing treat. This shop is located in the Westfield UTC mall. I really like their chocolates. The chocolates are fresh, smooth, and they have unique flavors. The clerk told me they get a shipment in everyday. In the boutique, they have boxes ready for purchase or you can purchase by the pound. It is around $40 per pound. You can also ask to try any of their chocolates behind the counter that they sell by the pound. The clerk gave us a sample of their strawberry chocolate. It tasted so smooth and like a strawberry milk shake. The chocolate had freeze dried strawberries. We were sold by the little sample she gave us To try. We got a big piece of the strawberry and some of the dark lattice and milk lattice. My husband likes dark and I'm a milk chocolate gal. We purchased a little over a pound of chocolate. This was a fun experience for us. We got to taste a lot of different flavors and the staff were very nice. It was very fun. read more

I tell my husband I want to go to La Jolla... mainly to get chocolate. Well, now there are 2 places in UTC for me to get chocolate. I love that Laderach opened. What is great is that they offer samples of everything! We love to try what they have and do buy plenty to bring home. Love the chocolate with the nuts and their Dubai chocolate is one of the best I've tried. So fresh. Friendly service when we come. Only one worker I disliked as she was cleaning up 5 min before closing and sprayed windex on the glass while customers were still inside the store. I get you want to leave but really, I'll dirty your counter again for getting windex mist in my eye. Other than that lady that wants to leave, 5 stars! That lady gets 0 stars. read more
