Always walk past this store when I go to Westfield UTC as it is by the parking garage. Today there was an employee with samples outside and it was on. The sample was of the hazelnut chocolate bark and it was delicious. All the chocolate is imported from Switzerland. It is a little pricey, but the quality is really good. The worker then told me you can ask for samples of anything. I then tasted about 5 different barks inside and they all were delicious. We ended up purchasing some assorted chocolates. Again its pricey but high quality. Think of it as an upgraded See's candies.

This a beautiful store with wonderful chocolates. I was greeted at the door by an employee who offered me a piece of milk chocolate hazelnut. It was so good. The caramelized sugar crunch on the hazelnuts was a perfect companion to the creaminess of the milk chocolate. The store itself is beautiful with many prepackaged options as well as being able to pick your own from the cases. The truffles had so many colors and flavors to choose from. The sheets of chocolates were so big and also beautiful with their array of flavors and colors too. If you are looking for a gift, this would be perfect. If you love chocolate like I do you won't be disappointed

I am a chocolate lover, and I will always be a customer for really good chocolate. I first saw the store in Irvine and I thought it'd be awesome to have one in San Diego not knowing that they already did have a few branches, but I'm so glad this one opened up and then university city area in the UTC mall but I'm also not glad because this is such a temptation. First off, the customer service is always top-notch and they give you free samples of large pieces of chocolate you can buy either truffles or you can buy the blocks of chocolate, which are yes pricey but worth all the ingredients and the process of Switzerland chocolate that you can get in San Diego is pretty amazing I got the Dubai chocolate, and it was also really rich crunchy and you could taste the salt that they added, but also the sweet sweetness of the milk chocolate.

I'm so happy this location opened. Läderach was my favorite chocolate shop in Valleyfair Mall, Santa Clara (Norcal) and so I had to pick some up when this location opened. Got the Espresso Macchiato and Orange-Almond and both were delicious. This shop is perfect for chocolate gifts and casual, quality enjoyment (pricy but worth it). FYI: They sell by the ounce but also have pre-packaged bags and additional chocolate boxes. Pictured here is a 1/4-lb (minus some sizable chunks I ate before taking the pic LOL). Overall rating: Service: 10/10 Options: 10/10 Shop Vibes: 10/10 Price to Overall Dining (POD): 10/10

Stumbled upon here after lunch. They were giving samples at the door. So naturally, I went in to see what else they had, cuz well, I do love chocolate! I think they would have let me sample every single FrischSchoggi & praline, but I had to stop from getting swiss chocolate overload! FrischSchoggi means fresh chocolate, and yes, I looked that up. Lol! They are the chocolate barks that you can choose how big of a piece you want. So good! Go do some chocolate tasting! The staff was friendly and willing to answer any questions! They sell by the ounce, so yes, it can get pricey! But as an indulgence every once in awhile, I think I can do that!

I'm super ecstatic that Laderach is in town. I've had their quality chocolates a while ago and visited their retail store not too long ago. They serve up one of the most divine chocolates. I especially love the hazelnut and Dubai chocolate pieces. They also have many chocolate gift boxes to choose from and it's an amazing treat. The Chocolatiers are really kind and pleasant which makes the ambiance even more luxurious. I've been coming back since for a nice treat!!

If you love chocolate, UTC keeps offering one delicious chocolate brand after another. First, it was Venchi from Italy, and now Laderanch from Switzerland. Laderanch offers a variety of chocolates. From milk, dark, white, etc. They all tasted so rich and wonderful. The staff is very friendly and gives as many samples as you want.

The decor and setting is cute and quirky, including cow sculptures hanging upside down from the ceiling. There were only a couple other visitors when we arrived, as it was near opening time. Our dishes took a whopping 35 minutes to be ready, and service was not very friendly nor helpful. Luckily, the music playing through the speakers added a nice vibe to the place, songs like Our House by Madness and Can't Fight This Feeling. We ordered the brunch pizza (with eggs cooked overeasy) and the breakfast flatbread which looked almost identical when served, as well as an iced mocha. The quality of the pizza was pretty average, and the eggs were slightly overcooked. The drink was really good, made fresh, with a smooth taste and a nice sweetness to it, the plastic cup coated in chocolate sauce. It tasted more like chocolate milk with a hint of coffee, which I personally enjoyed. They typically serve gelato here, but it would not be ready till almost two hours after opening time. So no milkshakes or cold desserts were available in the morning this past Sunday (no worries, Ghirardelli is just a block away). I appreciate the variety of menu items offered here. But they really should communicate online that their gelato's not ready till two hours into the day. If there's one thing that irks me about an establishment, it's failure to communicate appropriately. Even though our recent visit was somewhat disappointing, I still gave 3 stars, assuming this was an off day for them.

It was just sitting there, standing tall behind the glass - thick, tall, and beautifully layered. This, along with the layers of cake, contrasted well with the cream layers, which I found out incorporates whole eggs (traditional in authentic tiramisu recipes). There is a lot to love about this $11.50 cake slice, and in my opinion, is better than Extraordinary Dessert's Tort-imasu.
