After Lung Moon bakery on Mulberry Street closed down was so bummed out. Where to go for tasty treats and sweets close by. One of my cousins recommended M & W Bakery. So I have been purchasing cooked steamed buns that are found in their freezer/fridge. Also read reviews from Yelper's about their egg tarts, so this time around got two packs of the steamed roast pork buns as wells as three egg tarts and other buns too. Heck those egg tarts must be really good. One family member gobbled up two of them once they got home. He was eyeing the third one. Remember sharing is caring. LOL. Will get more the next time I am in Chinatown.

Roast bbq pork bun (after freezing for a few days and microwaving--kept very well)

Very solid roast pork bun ($1.35). Good flavor, faintly sweet, and not super artificially red. I froze them for a few days and then microwaved for around 45s (shifted plate halfway through for more even heating). It puffs up a lot, which is fun to watch! Only thing is I got one bun with not much filling. :( It still had a nice texture and still hit the spot. I'll be returning for more buns, and I also want to try their other items!

Stopped by here on the way to another bakery looking for mooncakes. Pleasantly surprised by the pricing of the mooncakes especially compared to the ones that are sold in the tin cans in grocery store. However, upon buying the mooncakes, I noticed that it was hard which is fine because you have to set out mooncakes for 2 days in room temperature to soften, after baking. I took it home and left it out for 2 days in a container and it still did not soften up! The mooncakes was really dry and crumbly and the red bean filling was not fragrant. The egg yolk was also really dry. After discovering this, I left it out for few more days to see if it would soften up even more but it did not. The mooncakes here were a big disappointment. I did not try their other baked food so I will have to come back and try it.

I'm not sure why this place doesn't get more love. It's been here for as long as I can remember. We use to go shopping in Chinatown during the weekend and I always make sure to find some time to stop here. It's an inexpensive sugary treat that delights the senses. My dad use to take me here to buy the coconut mochi balls and raisin bread. Now it's my turn to buy my son, niece and nephews treats from here and we love the steam buns with chinese sausage, raisin bread, pineapple buns. Discovering this treasure trove of a bakery was a blessing 30 years ago, now it continues to bring joy and happiness to my family generations later Thank you

One of the hidden bakeries in Chinatown - unassuming storefront, but a gem. The best paper cup sponge cakes I have had - very fluffy and light, beautiful rich taste but not too heavy - even great the next day. Best of all is the pricing - Monday afternoon around 13:30, 3 for $2.50 or else 1 for $1. Some of the other larger chain bakeries around were $2+ for 1. I am a big fan of lotus seed paste buns and they boxes to go of smaller or larger ones with plenty of filling - just make sure to re-steam for the best results. Don't pass this over, one of the best and great pricing too! And it doesn't seem to be a chain. What more could you ask for?

$1 for most buns, including pork sung. I also saw mooncakes. Do they still sell taro buns?

I was a fan of the warm pineapple bun here, and would come back for some taro buns and egg tarts if hankering.

The orange has a base made of chocolate Rice Krispies. All of them have more fruity filling than the mousse. They are very fragile. I recommend eating there if you can. Finding can be a challenge because it's busy and there aren't many seats. I got mine to go just to be taken to the park across the street . The mushroom kind are totally ruined. It has strawberriy jelly and it was a mess. The orange one was almost ruined too. The mango has some diced mangoes. I devoured three of them instantly. Definitely come back to try more.

Yummmy!!! What a cute and unique dessert boutique! So many choices but what makes this place stand…read moreout are its adorable and colorful mousse delicacies. The inside was packed with folks! There was no place to sit down because of how busy it was but the staff kept the line moving quick enough. The place still seemed reasonably stocked with their desserts and treats, despite the late afternoon time that I arrived. I ordered 4 different treats to go and they're packed in small box individually. Unfortunately, they didn't quite stay intact during my trek back to my hotel and were tumbled around in the boxes. Nonetheless, the taste and flavors held up well and even after a few days in the fridge. The yuzu daisy has this vivid pastel yellow-pink base and adorable gelatinous yellow gem atop a white flower. The yuzu gives a subtle infusion of tart that is balanced out by the light delicate skin texture of the rest. Sitting atop a thin round rice crispy. I loved the red mushroom one which is a creamy pink mousse inside the cap. The stalk is a thin porcelain-white chocolate light base also filled with a rich cream. Adjacent are two cute little tree nuts. The orange and mango have such vivid colors and are aesthetically pleasing too. Just like the previous ones, their delicate chocolate exterior houses a rich tarty mousse-y filling. I think the mushroom has a better balance and variety of flavors. Although I don't eat mousse treats often, I look forward to trying some of the other ones in the future, like the blueberry, banana and cloud.

This used to be my favorite Italian bakery. I haven't been to this bakery in years like ten years…read moresince I was a teenager. Today I decided to make a special trip to go here to grab a few goodies. I forgot how small the place was and how low the ceilings were. That wasn't an issue though. The place was nice and cakes were stacked neatly. What was surprising to me is that they don't have any cookies laid in the front display. It's all placed in the back almost hidden. I was deeply disappointed with their cookie selection. It was deeply surprising that they don't sell the butter cookies that had jam in the middle and dipped with chocolate on one side with sprinkles. I did ask the clerk and even showed him a pic of what I was looking for and he said they never sold them. They only had the linzer cookies and they didn't look so good. They also did not have the lobster tail. They did have the sfogliatelle which they also called a lobster tail. I thought they were not the same? Some bakeries sell both and they are definitely not the same. I did end up buying one of their sfogliatelle with cream and some rugelachs. The sfogliatelle was good but the rugelachs tasted slightly underbaked. It did taste fresh though unlike many I've had in other bakeries. However, for $28 per pound, I wouldn't get it again. For those not having lobster tail and not having the Italian cookies, I will have to give Veniero's a low rating. I never thought an Italian bakery would not carry staples. Very disappointed. I need to find another Italian bakery now.

The Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookie was not too sweet as the walnuts were the perfect balance! I think this is for people who are not too big on chocolate chips in their cookie. The Coconut Caramel cookie reminded me of a Samoa! You can taste all the coconut in the cookie and it was delicious! The Sticky Bun was so soft as well! 10/10!
