Went here for the first time after finding it randomly on Instagram a few days ago. This is a cute spot located in South Fremont near Wells Fargo. We ordered three things on the menu: the classic XLB, Pan friend dumplings and wonton soup. The XLB: really great flavor and temperature. The skin was also pretty thin, which I really like. It's served with thinly sliced ginger, black vinegar, and chili oil. 9/10 Pan fried dumpling: nice crunch upon first bite and a yummy pork meatball inside. Pretty solid overall. 8/10 Wonton soup: I don't know what was in the wontons tbh, but the flavor was out of this world! The soup, however, was a bit peppery for me, but overall not bad. 8/10 I definitely will come back to try other items on the menu! read more

I really like this place and it's been one of my go to spots. I love their pan fried dumplings. They are crunchy on the outside and inside is really juicy and tasty. Small place after Wells Fargo Bank by Warm Springs area. Great menu collection if you love dumplings and the price is not bad. They can customize some dishes if you have food allergies. Great for family or groups but come by before the dinner rush. Menu is QR code but service is good. Place is clean and pretty homey. I called in a to go order other night while traveling for work and ordered the pork buns and scallion pancakes to go. Both dishes were very good However, while waiting for my order, I noticed something that raised serious health and food-safety concerns. Through the window that looks into the kitchen, I saw one of the staff members handling to-go containers with his bare hands. He was putting his hands inside the containers, then setting them on the counter before reaching directly into a salad bin with his bare hands to plate food -- no gloves, no tongs, no utensils. As someone who appreciates good food, I was disappointed to see such unsanitary practices. The food tasted great, but witnessing that made me question the hygiene standards in the kitchen, and I'm hesitant about ordering again. read more

I think we just found our new favorite soupy dumpling place! The soup inside each dumpling was amazing, we couldn't believe how juicy it was. Each dumpling was so perfectly and carefully wrapped and what we love most is how thin the wrapper was, unlike other places that make it super thick. What amazed us most is how peeling the dumpling away from each other didn't rip the shell to spill all the lovely soup inside . Hands down, best dumplings in the area! It's a very small restaurant, but the food and service were very quick. We will definitely be back when we crave soupy dumplings again! This is one of those places where they almost don't need service staff. Use your mobile phone to get the menu, order, pay, and then eventually your food will come out. The dumplings were good, albeit seemingly cooked from frozen. Nothing spectacular, but hit the spot on a long and tiring road trip. Very crowded little joint. Oh man.. this has taken an interesting turn. This was my new go to spot outside of Din Ding, BUT that is no longer the case. The staff preselected 18% tip for 2 people.. and we never got anything beyond the typical service. The water pitcher we were given was empty and never refilled either. The food came out in a timely manner and they did take the empty plates away... This is the typical service we should have though??? Edit: upon closer review they charged me for premium hot tea when I only received water... Lost a customer for life here. Anyway, changing my review to 1 star and I'll stick with Din Ding from now on. Really sucks because we have always enjoyed the food here. The 3% extra tip won't ruin me; however, the customer should always have the option to decide the tip. The menu did not disclose automatic 18% gratuity either. read more

Went on a weekday night and got seated immediately despite being crowded and close to closing time. There's a QR code at each table to order. We got two different types of dumplings, one XLB and boiled. The pork XLB was so delicious! Each dumpling had ample soup and was plenty juicy! The boiled shrimp, egg, and chive one is just ok. Came here with the in-laws for a quick lunch. Pretty much a hole in the wall dumpling joint, located in a small plaza/center. Looks like they opened recently as they still had their grand opening sign up, but surprisingly the service and food all came out fast and efficient. I wouldn't say service was spectacular, just pretty basic for an Asian place overall. Menu focuses on shareable Chinese dishes (aka dumplings, potstickers, etc) and some popular noodle soups. Overall I would say pricing is better than some more famous modern places in the area - but still double what I usually put out for one of my fave hole in the wall dumpling places (which is actually my preferred, Taiwanese style). The dumplings are def. a must here, where the skin is beautifully thin and light - but the flavors do lean a bit more salty/rich - which I found tends to be the trend with Chinese style dumplings vs. Taiwanese (usually lighter/fresher flavors). Let's dig in: (1) Pork XLB - great thin skin, rich broth, and the meat quality was good overall...just a bit rich/salty for my personal taste, but still good. (2) Crab & Pork XLB - same great thin skin and rich flavor just with a bit more of seafood bite to it. The crab was really tasty here & added a dynamic touch to the porkiness. (3) Beef Noodle Soup - this was fair, there was a good amount of meat, (although not super tender) and the noodz had a great chew overall. The broth was flavorful, but just wished it came out more hot and not lukewarm. (4) Potstickers - great crispy skin but didn't really like the filling, not sure if it's fusion or a region via Chinese cuisine - but personally don't like it when there is Corn in dumplings or potstickers. (5) Beef Dumplings - this also had corn in it which was again just not my forte in dumplings (mind you...I LOVEEEE CORN in EVERYWAY, just NOT in dumplings). The meat and flavor was tasty though, while the skin was a bit thicker but standard per dumplings. (6) Pan fried pork dumplings - these were BOMB && def. the main reason why I'd come back here!! The exterior was so crispy/crunchy, while the inside had a juicy delish pork meatball with a tasty broth. One of the best pork xiao long bao (xlb) in Fremont. I will be back and inviting more friends. It is comparable to the caliber of Din Ding's (better or worse would be dependent on palate and mood). The delicate skin held abundant soup that was flavorful and sweet and the meat was satisfying. They had an interesting spicy chicken xlb, which had Western Chinese spices and flavors. It is interesting, but I am partial to the classic pork XLB. For starters, the iceburg eggplant is a deep friend starch-coated dish, that is sweet and savory. The table liked it. The rainbow salad is light with good texture from the mung bean thick noodle and the peanut sauce pulls things together. We liked this salad, but it might be less interesting for people who prefer bold flavors. The dishes we tried were not oversalted. They are understaffed during busy times, but they try to be efficient. The restaurant is small so, it was full when we went, but they were able to seat people who were queued up in a reasonable time. I just ate here, and I'm typing this in the parking lot. They handed us the bill, and then the payment machine with a tap to pay prompt that did not display the total. After tapping, we noticed it never gave a tip prompt which we thought was strange. However, as we were walking out and checking the receipt and credit card transaction, we realized that the server already selected an 18% tip and we paid $63.44 without consent. The food and service was not bad, but the service was nothing out of the ordinary besides taking our orders, and dropping off the food. But giving themselves a tip without giving us the option to choose is absolutely unacceptable. Edit: Took a closer look at the receipt later and also noticed they charged us for hot tea that we never ordered nor received. Hope the extra $12.40 you stole from us was worth it. Came here with my friend because the soup dumplings were vetted by my friend herself who came here for a week straight after trying it for the first time. I tried the Crab Roe and Pork XLB! The dumpling skin had good structural integrity--did not spill at all, and had perfect texture! Size of the dumplings runs slightly bigger; the flavor was tasty and authentic! They also offer a variety of Chinese dishes! We also got Sautéed Green Bean and Braised Beef Shank Noodle Soup (non-spicy)! Just as great tasting but dumplings steal the show for this place. Would describe the ambiance of this small restaurant to be clean and trendy, staff were nice and welcoming too, was on stand-by to ask if food was okay and if we needed anything. Heard this place was better than Din Ding Dumpling so I had to try it out. We ordered the M dumpling Special Combo which comes with all the main items that we wanted such as the original XLB, pan fried pork dumplings, and cucumber salad. We also ordered the garlic stir fried green beans, scallion pancakes, crab roe & pork soup dumplings, and salted egg custard buns. The scallion pancakes were surprisingly very good; I liked how crispy they were. The green beans had a nice kick which was a pleasant surprise. Everything was delicious except none of us really liked the crab roe & pork soup dumplings because it tasted a bit fishy. I also didn't really care for the salted egg custard buns because I expected the filling to be more runny. Overall, I really liked this spot and I'd agree that it's better than Din Ding. Something to note, the space inside is quite small and parking is limited. read more

I really enjoyed this dumpling spot! It took me a minute to realize that they took over the dry cleaning spot since they did a pretty good job with the remodel. Their furniture was new and clean and they even have holiday decorations which I thought was cute. The food came out fresh and hot. Bonus points for the food not coming out too oily. Portion sizes were pretty decent as we still had leftovers for a party of three. We ordered: - cucumber salad - wonton soup - pan fried pork bun - shrimp fried rice - three cup chicken Hands down my favorite dish was the pan fried pork buns. The breading wasn't that doughy or thick and it was lightly crispy. There was a good amount of flavorful pork filling. The cucumber salad was refreshing. I liked how they didn't add too much vinegar to make it overpowering. I wasn't used to the bigger chunks, but it didn't bother me. The three cup chicken was also pretty flavorful. I liked how it wasn't too salty and that they give you a good amount of chicken. Their wonton soup was pretty decent. The wonton filling was surprisingly flavorful. So So SO GOOD! I've been here twice now and both times have been wowed by the taste and quality of all the food. Also made sure to order a variety of new items each time. They've PERFRCTED the soup dumpling. I tried the Pork, pork & crab roe, and spicy chicken. Best soup dumplings i've ever had; so juicy and succulent with flavorful meat fillings and perfect QQ skin. Every dumpling passed the leak test, and they even told us how to rewarm them for takeout without drying out the skin. Other dishes I also highly recommend: red oil ravioli (mild spice, fragrant & savory), spicy braised beef shank noodles (chewy noodles, flavorful soup), pan fried pork buns (fluffy, crispy, juicy, amazing). Everything else I've tried is attached in the pics below, & there seriously hasn't been anything that I didn't like. The restaurant itself is really tiny, so during the weekend and peak times you'll have to wait. Small parking lot as well. Workers are all nice and really helpful. The XLB was a very nice, thin skin, and authentic. It almost rivals Ding Tai Fung. The pan seared bao was good too though the bottom part is a bit too doughy to my liking. So glad we finally have a decent XLB and noodle soup restaurant in our area! We would always have to drive out to Union City if we wanted this type of food, and Joe it's just down the street. The servers are so incredibly sweet and the food is delicious. The noodles + pork we ordered was decent, but I wish they had the option of handmade knife cut noodles since I like a chewier noodle than what was given. The cucumbers were pretty standard and light. I would've preferred if they added more chili oil and flavoring. The XLB was my favorite. The pork is softer and fattier making a juicer XLB. A lot of people may not be a fan of this since it's not the normal standard, but I loved it! Overall, it was a great experience and I'm excited to go back and try other items. read more

Good soup dumplings, good service, slightly small spot but didn't have to wait for a table on a Saturday around 1pm. Had the chicken clay pot dish which had good flavor, but my only complaint is the bones are so cooked that they easily splinter which makes it tougher to eat. The rainbow salad had a lot of interesting textures, and the peanut sauce was good with a tiny hint of wasabi (or hot mustard) flavor. I loved the pork XLB, good skin and tasty soup. Green onion pancake was good, hard to mess up though. The mountain eggplant was lightly deep fried but wasn't too flavorful. Would skip next time. My friends ordered the lotus root with honey, but I didn't try it. I don't think they would order it again though. It's a sweeter dish, like dessert. We ordered crab roe and pork soup dumplings (XLB). They were so good; I recommend trying them. I have tried crab roe and pork XLB at many places, but the dumplings at M are so juicy and tasty. The pan-fried pork soup and the meat inside were pretty good, too. We also ordered string beans and Red Oil Ravioli with peanut and chili sauce. To go includes a great presentation with dumplings easily removed whole to enjoy all the soup. If you peer through a window behind the register, workers are masterfully filling and twisting fresh dumplings. The soup dumplings are the best. Hot, juicy and just the right thickness of dough. I was in the mood for some refreshing cucumber and found this place called m dumping and thought I give it a try since the images of that looked appetizing. As I enter, the serve told me to scan the menu and then it was quite ready to pick what I wanted and it directly goes to the kitchen which was easy and nice touch . I orders the shrimp dumpling cucumber and also the meat platter which I enjoyed all three dishes so much. Next time, I will be ordering their Xiao long bao to try. I was too full to order more this time. I also like that the place offers many seating for solo diners too which was a nice touch of options. The shui mai shrimp dumpling was good and big and juicy with small shrimp on the top. It was also steamed to perfection. Overall, the restroom was also quite clean which I appreciated made me feel like my food was cooked in a well kept environment. There was table of young twenty year olds having a wonderful time ordering a variety of different dishes. That is the wait to order dumplings. On the other hand I was on my own and picked what ever I saw on other people's plates. I started with the cucumber salad. It was delicious, not too tart and not too sweet. My next dish was the ground pork soup dumplings. So delicious and so much fun eating them. And my final dish was a plate of sweet barbecue short ribs. Bite size. Really hit the spot. Wow, what a place! Food was delicious - the pork and crab roe XLB was warm and juicy, and the crab roe essence was much more infused than, for example, Din Tai Fung's version of the same. I really enjoyed it. Rainbow salad was outstanding. A good variety of veggies mixed with long, soft, chewy noodles and a sesame sauce. The service...I'm in awe... never experienced anything like this. When my rainbow salad first arrived, it came unmixed (like you see in most other pictures and on the menu). I was still texting on my phone wrapping something up, and the server came up to me after a few minutes and told me he was concerned the noodles will dry up if we don't mix them with the sesame sauce soon. So he proceeded to carefully pour in the sauce and mix it all up for me!! Can you imagine? No one normally cares that much nowadays, but he did. And he wasn't even the owner! I decided to take my time and eat slowly, so I asked if I could please have a lid to keep the XLB warm longer while I munch on the salad. He brought me a lid and said that if it still gets cold, to let him know and he can heat it up again for me. Amazing!! And then while I was eating, he noticed my napkin had been used up..so he swung by and gave me 2 new napkins and took the old one. I gotta say the food was outstanding and will definitely be coming back... but I don't even have words to describe my overall experience... truly extraordinary...
