Enjoyed a great lunch here a couple weeks ago after a visit to Knotts berry farm. We usually goto ayce Korean bbq places, so coming here was a nice change of pace. Food quality and service are much better. We did the bbq beef combo and added a corn pancake. All of it was super delicious. The combo alone would have already been more than enough food for two. We really enjoyed the quality of the meats, that they cook it for you and all the great sides. Really loved the soup and the egg that comes with it. It's a large space in a pretty cool Korean mall. My family and I decided to come here last minute while we were at a play place on the first floor. We easily put our name on the waitlist and received a text that our table was almost ready, so we made our way upstairs. Once we arrived, we were seated pretty quickly. Since it was our first time, we didn't know anything about how the restaurant operates. It would've been nice to get a quick rundown. You choose one option/price and receive everything in that category. We chose the top combo option. The meats were all cut well, and the gentleman cooked for us and gave us whatever we requested. He checked in often about how well done we wanted our meat, which we appreciated. Through asking questions, we learned that if you want a second serving of a specific meat, you have to pay separately (à la carte). My daughter only likes thin meats, but we opted not to get a second serving of brisket because of the price. Additionally, rice is also an extra menu item; however, it was absolutely delicious. Overall, the combo option gives you a great selection of meats and sides. My son, who is a very picky eater, tried at least one of every meat -- which was a first for him! No tip is required or requested, as they are considered a no-tip restaurant. The customer service was phenomenal. I can absolutely see myself going back for a family or date night. My only recommendation is that they ask guests if it's their first time visiting and provide a brief explanation of how everything works. read more

I use to come here frequently when I lived in the area. I came again recently and got the usual (beef combo for 2). The meat quality is great as usual but I'm not sure it's enough for 2 people. I believe it comes with 3-4 different cuts. Banchans are great although I wish the individual radish and rice paper dishes came with more. The rice paper was also a little dried out. The combo comes with a tofu soup and steamed egg. Our server was a little awkward and quiet. We went at around 1:30 pm on a weekend this time and it was pretty empty and quiet. read more

We had our family of 15 come here for Father's Day lunch on a Saturday. They quickly seated us and we had a great meal. Food quality was excellent. Briana was our waitress and her service was excellent serving all 15 of us. We really enjoyed this lunch and look forward to coming back here. We went here to eat on 12/30/2025 and were pleasantly surprised by the service and quality of the food. Even though the restaurant was packed Joon and the rest of his team provided excellent service and make us feel cared for. The meat quality was excellent and the banchan were some of the best you could find in OC. First time here~~Came here because I saw reviews about it, and very much wanted to try. Came here at 11:15, already have about 5 tables in the restaurant eating! Wow~Amazing. I did notice the price of combos went up, at least from the video that I saw the host said 2pple combo was $76, but I saw $82. I got the 4pple combo (large beef) = $122--comes with 4 types of beef. I thought I would have more sides dishes, but I think I got: salad/onion/radish slice....Anyway, meat quality were above standard. I also ordered their spicy beef tartare cold noodle, that was great!!! I am usually not a noodle person, but love it! One thing though, the video that bought me to the restaurant said they do not charge tip, but they do charge 10% service fee on bills. So if you are here for lunch, that is equivalent to tip. I wonder if they change the percentage of service fee for dinner?? I would love to know if anyone noticed that. read more

First time in, definitely an experience! My family and I enjoyed the Premium Package. The sides complimented the food very well. We were thrown by the water! Come to find out when we were cashing out we spoke with a manager and she was explaining how this raisin tree water was good for you and liver. We are so glad that we found this new Korean BBQ place for our family. The food is delicious and the price is very reasonable compared to Baekjeong. We love the fact that they cook it for you and they DO NOT accept tips. Service is great and the ventilation is good. You don't come out smelling like BBQ from 3 feet away. We ordered the Beef combo for 3-4 people and it is PLENTY of food. Meat quality is fresh and good. The kimchi is surprisingly delicious and fresh. Their steamed egg is cooked on the side in a bow and served separately. I think that's awesome because steam eggs are hard to eat and can get contaminated if they are from the tray next to the grill. M Korean Barbecue is located on the 3rd floor at the Source. When my friends and I arrived around 5:30pm on a Monday evening, there wasn't a wait. But by the time we left around 7:15pm it got pretty busy. So they have a no tipping rule here, but they charge a 10% "fee" to cover their operations. Interestinggggg. I actually really liked our waitress Karla who was spectacular the whole night, but we didn't have the option to tip her. The three of us shared a Small Beef Combo ($82), Grilled Beef Tongue ($35), Yogurt Soon Hari ($13), Chamisul Fresh ($13), and a Terra ($8). The Beef Combo includes Thin Sliced Prime Brisket, Prime Beef Boneless Short Rib, Beef Finger Rib and Marinated Beef Oyster Steak. Rice paper and radish paper were already on the table when we arrived. All of their combos include pine mushroom, soybean paste soup with beef brisket, old fashioned green onion salad, romaine salad and steamed egg. The cooking pace was a smidge fast since we came in when they weren't busy yet. Very attentive and on top of things. The food was pretty good. I prefer Baekjong for a similar experience, but not bad. We all enjoyed the prime beef boneless short ribs the most with its' marbling cut. We said if we came back we would probably just stick with that cut. It was about $60/person after we split the bill. Dining experiences really come down to the people, and my visit to M KBBQ in Buena Park was made exceptional because of our host, Marke. He truly made all the difference. Marke was an excellent cook, attentive without being overbearing, and made the meal even better with genuinely pleasant conversation throughout the night. This is my second time ever coming here in the first time was years ago so pretty much like the first time now. I had no idea where to start but the waiter Caesar took over made sure we were good. My friends and I were given a great experience. The food was fantastic on the first week to the last, The environment was lively yet quite enough that I can still have a good conversation with my friends. This is one of my favorite spots for Korean barbecue in Orange County but this time I thought that the meat was a little bit dry and overcooked. Even though they cook it in front of you at the grill, if it gets really busy, then it's possible that they may take a little longer to come back to take it off. I would definitely return here but would pay more attention to the meat when it's a busy night. The ambience is a little bit loud, but not unusual for Korean BBQ restaurant. they also made an error on the bill (charged for items I didn't order) that I didn't realize until after paying and we're quick to correct the error. read more

O V E R A L L Out of the 6 Korean BBQ places that we have been to, THIS IS THE WOSRT --- premium meat didn't taste premium. The quality we got could have been something we got at an AYCE spot. I would have felt better if the price point of this "Premium" was maybe priced at $70-$80 and our total bill was $120 instead of a whopping $272 (even tho there's no tipping). Skip it and go to Mo Ran Gak or King Chang for à la carte KBBQ. O R D E R - Banchan (2/5): It feels very heavy handed on the fish sauce for almost everything but especially the kimchi. I don't think I've ever had anything like this in the many kbbq/korean restaurants I had been to in the past year. The kimchi tofu soup was so salty and someone said it tasted more like tomato soup. I wish there was another refreshing side to cut the fat but there's only so much lettuce you can eat. - Premium combo (1/5) $195: First of all, there is nothing premium about this when the only decent cut is the either the "Prime beef rib eye" or "Prime beef boneless short rib". The brisket was not impressive - kind of tougher side. The seasoned beef finger feels like it was seasoned super heavily with pepper - some girl was sneezing like crazy near by. [Premium combo consists of: Thin sliced prime brisket, Prime beef rib eye, Prime beef boneless short rib, Prime beef fresh short rib (unseasoned), Seasoned beef finger rib] - Pork belly (3/5) $33: Not bad it made it up for a bit - Seafood Kimchi Pancake: Didn't get to try it because it got sent to another table. By the time we reminded the waiter, we were already at the end of our bbq. S E R V I C E Nothing against the service because they kept asking if we need anything. Though our green onion salad/side was forgotten once and our Seafood Kimchi Pancake got sent elsewhere... eh this isn't really factoring into my review. O T H E R Ventilation could be better... It was party of 3. 2 girls and a guy. We ordered the beef set which was supposed to be for 3-4 people but it wasn't enough even after ordering the noodles on the side. Meat quality was acceptable but there were little to much of fat and I had to cut some out when eating. The marinated beef at the end was too sweet for me. We ate in the separated room but the server didn't come often enough so we had to flip the meat sometimes. He even left the zucchini only on the grill and didn't comeback so we had to stop and were literally just staring at them for like 10min in the middle of the meal. Wouldn't go back. read more

At one point, M Korean BBQ was one of our favorite spots for Korean BBQ. It's located at the Source OC in Buena Park, it's not all you can eat, but they tout some pretty high-quality meat here. I tend to like the Beef Combo; however, for our group of four, we got a large pork combo, which comes with thick pork belly, pork jowl, and very thick pork collar steak, and marinated thin pork collar. We also spent an extra $50 to get a marinated short rib, which I think is exceptionally good. The quality of the meat is definitely high. When you get beef, the marbling of their prime cuts is obvious. Favorite bite of the night was with their marinated short rib, which isn't part of any of their combos. Unlike most galbi preparations, this had a pleasantly savory, garlicky taste that was unique. There are a few reasons that this has come down from a five-star experience for me: 1) Ordering is through an iPad, which is a little spotty. Sometimes the delay from iPad to table was noticeable. Also, the menu on the iPad was incomplete, so we had to flag down a server to order alcoholic drinks or items that were not on the menu. The iPad can be a helpful tool; however, that wasn't our experience today. 2) This said, service was friendly; however, it's evident there's less staff to help with drinks, orders, service, etc. 3) Banchan was lacking. We had a small portion of stew, a steamed egg, a small portion of corn cheese, salads, and regular cabbage kimchi. I do value a good banchan and I'm willing to pay for a complete banchan; however, I wish that it would have been more all-inclusive. 4) Server was friendly; however, we had difficulty with communicating through language barrier, which made it hard to get our needs taken care of. He did, however, do a great job of cooking our meats. 5) The portion size for the "small" combo sets is good for two people, but I don't think that the portion size for the large portion is sufficient for three to four people. Take this into consideration when ordering. Overall, I think that M Korean Grill is a really good option for Korean BBQ as they have high quality meats; however, there are some things that they can be doing better at this time. read more

After a day at Knott's Berry Farm, decided to finally check out The Source OC, and we settled on Korean barbecue at M Korean BBQ for dinner. Parking is free in the parking garage. Since we went before 6PM, our party of four was seated immediately despite it being a Saturday evening. The interior is sleek with darker colors. The table did get a bit cramped at times with all of the various plates and dishes. We opted for the large beef combo (serves 3-4 people), which came with 4 cuts of beef, side dishes, steamed egg, soybean stew, and two salads. You have to ask for the sesame oil to accompany the salt, and steamed rice is NOT included (but can be added for $2/person). I felt like it was a bit stingy charging extra for white rice, but at least the rice was tasty. You do get complimentary rice paper and daikon sheets with your meal even if you don't order rice. The meats were all tasty, and some oyster mushrooms were grilled up as well. The combo was ~$120 as of November 2024, and I was full enough at the end of the meal, though I have definitely experienced more generous portions at other a-la-carte Korean barbecue establishments. At least the quality of meats was decent. Service was attentive and most of the meats were cooked for you on the table grill. They had no problem letting us split the final bill over two credit cards. As advertised on the QR code menu, a 10% fee is added to every check, but M Korean BBQ is also uniquely a NO TIPPING establishment, so when that is factored in the value for price is also more favorable. The workers don't seem to know how to properly cook meat, which was very disappointing.

This was one of the most disappointing Korean BBQ experiences I have had. The service was inattentive throughout the meal. The staff frequently left the meat unattended, resulting in it being either overcooked and burnt or undercooked. It did not feel like there was much care or attention given to the table. Several of the side dishes appeared to have gone bad, with a noticeably slimy texture and a strong bitter, sour taste. When I informed an employee, the dish was taken away without an apology or a replacement being offered. The meat quality itself was acceptable but not exceptional. It was cooked with herbs such as thyme or rosemary, which is uncommon for Korean BBQ. As a result, most of the meats carried a strong herbal flavor that did not feel authentic or well balanced. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, especially considering we spent over $160 for two people on what was meant to be a date night. The level of service and overall quality did not reflect the price point. This felt far from a premium dining experience and did not justify the cost. read more

This place seemed promising based on the reviews, but our experience was admittedly lackluster. We came with our friends and ordered a small beef and small pork combo. I quickly noticed that our server's mediocre attentiveness as our prime brisket was painfully overcooked. The boneless short rib and finger rib were quite good as the fat content saved them from overcooking. Among the pork cuts, they were all overdone and needed accompaniments to make them palatable. Atmosphere was fine, ventilation could've been better. Overall, solid meat quality ruined by poor service. Not worth what we paid. read more

Came here to celebrate a Friend of ours, Sue's Bday dinner. Friday night 07.26.24 1st timer here, had a 7 pm reservation. We were seated inside a glass window room where it sits 8 comfortably w 2 tables 8 chairs combined. We had a party of 9 so an extra chair was added on. They are Combined restaurant w a pub side that has Korean street food. That pub side was packed! And vibing w hip hop and great loud music playing, more like the cooler side. The restaurant was big with lots of booth style seatings & rooms available too. Simple Modern Korean bbq spot. The food was good. And decent portion. Banchan was great especially the kimchi per my Korean hubby said was really good. But nothing really stood out for mee. Sigh* Idk if M Korean bbq would be my 1st choice to return for Korean bbq. I'd go if it's a friends preference wanted to come here and this for instance, it was the bday girl hubby choice to come here. M Korean bbq didn't stand out much and make mee wanting to come back for more. So that says a lot about the restaurant. I liked it but not love it therefore a 4 star it is for mee. There are definitely a lot of Korean bbq food options around Buena Park i can think of to go than here that would be more satisfying to my taste buds. Overall it was a good experience. We ordered meat combo small, end up we couldn't even finished! The portion definitely has more than Beakjeong. Meat quality are very fresh you can tell by the color when they bring out. The small portion can feed more than two people. Don't forget here include both steam egg and bean paste soup! Service we had Sharon who was very attentive with her cooking and patiently waiting for us finished our course of meat. She curtsy asking if we needed anything we were nicely served.
