Wanted to eat here on a trip to ocean city. Went back two nights in a row as early as 7:30 and was told that they weren't taking any more tables to eat, and we had to call ahead. This despite the fact that we called ahead both times and were told both times that there was no call ahead wait list, and it was simply first come first serve. Don't come here if you want to actually get a table to eat. I would only recommend this to a friend who is somehow not looking to eat dinner and likes places with rude host staff. read more

This place is at the perfect location and the food is pretty good too. We had just returned from an activity and decided to have lunch there. Our waitress was attentive but only offered to fill our waters once. The food was good. We had chicken fingers, steamed shrimp, Mr Ducks chicken sandwich, fish tacos, and a burger with crab. This was a big disappointment of a trip. My 4 year old son kept asking "Where are the pirates?" You would not have known you were on a pirate ship except the two actors used the word "Argh" and "Teasure chest". The advertisement made it sound like people were in pirate garb and there was face painting which did not happen. Even the guy who drives the motor boat for them to shoot water at didn't even wear anything to resemble a pirate. We would have rather done the OC Rocket ride. read more

We stopped at this restaurant prior to going on an Assateague Adventure boat trip. We had drinks and appetizers. We ordered Bloody Mary's, pretzel with beer cheese and crab bites with a side of dip. The appetizers were delicious. Our server was great. We relayed that we had reservations for the boat trip and had stopped by because we had some time before launch. She put the order right in and it was delivered very quickly. We had more than enough time to return to the boat. We live in Delaware and will definitely come back here again. read more

It advertises Wild ponies in their natural habitat Explore Assateague Island Marine animal touch tank Bird watching Dredging for clams Learn about the eco system See the fishing boats go by Navigate OC's commercial fishing harbor Hands-on crab and crab pot demonstration First of all they stop on a sand strip which is not a beach. There were a few birds and no ponies. The ponies were on the other side of the island on a real beach. The only thing you could dredge was a shell or two with Mets they provided. The kids did have fun and that was its only saving grace. they need to change their advertising for this or stop where there really are the horses. I don't recommend this boat ride at all. read more

O.C. Rocket is definitely the best bargain compared to their competitor. I got soaked so the kids thought it was funny. You may get wet which is part of the experience. The boat is kept immaculate. Access getting on and off is fairly easy. I recommend the 10:00 time as you are back at 11:00 and have the rest of the day to do whatever you want. read more

Ducks is the place to be on a summer day in OC. The crowd is lively and views bayside are beyond extraordinary. M.R. has been around forever and well known for the tee shirts and souvenirs that beach goers go sporting around town. The happy hour lives up to the name and peel shrimp are hefty and flavorful. Authentic "Old Bay" Maryland style bar food is what M.R. excels at. The crabby balls (fried) were just the right mix, and represent what a real MD crab cake is supposed to be. A bit of cocktail sauce on a crab ball a can of cold beverage and you're in heaven. The service waitress side tends to be a tad busy on weekend nights but the service side bringing out the food hustles grub out of the kitchen quickly. Minor speed bump was burger ordered medium rare arrived pink in the middle and charred outside. Needless to say it was returned however the waitress only comp'd a beer to make things right. It was happy hour though and true to form the atmosphere at Ducks was too cool to let small stuff get in the way. Surprised that draft is not an option just cans. Bring a coozee to keep your beverage cool or try the duck bowl (looks like a decoy) drink. Sure to please and enjoy when down the shore. Pro red cap crowd in the house makes Ducks a great place for the whole family. Recommended. Enjoy. read more

Arrived with my family for dinner and was told an hour wait. Waited over an hour only to be seated at two separate tables squeezed against a very loud bar in the back. When we requested to be moved, we were rudely told we should leave because the kitchen would be closed by the time they would seat us. Left us searching for dinner at 7:30pm read more

It's a beautiful but not a friendly atmosphere at all. Waitresses ignore you specially if you're not white American!! Two of the menu items we asked were not available. They have strict menu and when you ask about even minor changes to the dish, they say our chief is not that much friendly to do that! Food also was low quality and not fresh. Excellent ride on the OC Rocket! Everything was so much fun. The captain was awesome and had a great sense of humor. He stopped more than once for us to see some possible dolphins. Some did appear briefly. Can't control the dolphins unfortunately. Oh and you will get wet. I would definitely recommend this. All in all, a great experience! read more

We are coming here for 3 years now and are more than happy with everything. We rent 2 Jetskis for 3 ppl (2 adults and one child).

We arrived early, they boarded already by the time we were walking on the boardwalk, as we were about to approach, they took off and left us. Then management tried to tell us we showed up late, but that's false. Called them out on their B.S. Still had 15 min to 5pm. No idea who they left. Company sucks. read more

Stopped by here for some lunch and we were told that it was self seating and we would have to wait for someone to leave. In the meantime, I decided to get a margarita from the bar. I came to OCMD knowing that I would be an anomaly because I don't really eat seafood. Luckily for me, M.R. Ducks has both seafood and traditional "from the land" food, with the spectacular views that you usually only get at seafood "on the bay" type restaurants. Both my boyfriend and I ordered a burger, which was cooked perfectly. We split the cheese fries and soft pretzel for an appetizer. The cheese fries were really good and loaded with a good amount of cheese, jalapenos and bacon. We were extremely pleased with everything we ordered from start to finish. They do have a bar here, which seems to be really popular, especially among locals. You could tell that the bartender knew a lot of people and that they were 'regulars.' We didn't order from the bar or get any drinks, so I can't really say anything about that. However, those who were there seemed to be enjoying themselves. In addition to a bar, there is also a shop where they sell merchandise. The merchandise is mostly t-shirts branded with M.R. Duck logos, but they are really interesting and cute shirts! They also have a fair share of knick-knacks and other brands. It's worth checking out before you leave. (There is also another shop location on the boardwalk.) One thing I found to be particularly odd about this place is that you have to seat yourself when you walk in. We didn't know this, so we had to go inside the store to ask the cashier where we go to be seated. They have a lot of tables, some near the bar and others off to the side. When we sat down, it took about 5 minutes before the waitress finally saw us. Once she greeted us, the service was excellent. I think they could do better by having a hostess seat you instead of you seating yourself, but maybe I'm just the odd one out here. read more

You can't miss with most dock bars and this one is prefect! Grab a chug a duck while you are there. Hallowed our duck decoy that has Natural Lite beer with a Amaretto shots in it! If you are not up for that. Then you can grab some food and enjoy the sunset. read more

My wife and I have visited M.R. ducks four times over the last two years and we are overall satisfied with our experiences there, but not for the food or drinks. The seating on the water and watching the sunset right from the deck is the main reason we come to this restaurant. The food, overall is decent but with a very limited selection. The hot wings are pretty decent, but not terribly spicy. The garlic parmesan wings are flat out disappointing because they barely do anything else besides smother crushed garlic on top of them. Burgers are filling and tasty but the fries are pretty boring and typical of any mediocre restaurant. The crab cake is quite tasty and probably the best thing on the menu, but again, there aren't any fries or sides that make you dying to return for a second time. The bar, overall is mediocre as well. Mixed drinks aren't too heavy and they have a fair selection. However, their beer selection is extremely limited with no beers on draft. However the serving staff is incredibly nice and caring. They are prompt with drinks and always appeared attentive to our table. We'll continue to visit M.R. Ducks because is low key, rarely too crowded, and have a decent selection of food and drink to choose from. read more

I'm almost afraid to review this place. It's so good I don't want the world to find out. that said: It's everything you'd want from a local bar/restaurant. We wandered around for a while looking for a place to eat near the Boardwalk, passed by all the overpriced, tourist joints, and wandered down Talbot Street toward the dock. We saw MR Duck's and thought, "perfect." We ordered the Mako Bites app and wished the order came with a thousand of 'em. They were fresh, lightly grilled and with a light soy-y sauce. the coleslaw was tart and fresher than a newly-minted high school graduate on Senior Week vacation in OC. I had the mahi taco - fresh, flavorful, and filling. My girlfriend had grilled mako salad and it was heavenly. The service was friendly and professional. read more

Like others have said, it's a well kept secret at the end of an otherwise-dismal back-bay street. It was hopping on a Sunday night when my girlfriend and I discovered this place. There was live entertainment, and the place was packed. At first, we wondered where the hostess was, then realized it was a "seat yourself" type of place. We managed to find a two-person table near the band, with a superb view of the bay. Our waitress dropped off menus right away, and was back quickly to take our drink order. We both got their signature cocktails (the names of which I forget at this moment) and they were both delicious. For food, I had a great chicken sandwich with homemade crab dip on top, and Cole slaw is the best homemade I've had yet on the island; my girlfriend also agrees and she loves the stuff. Great atmosphere and great drinks too. Literally right on the bay, boats pull up as you're dining. Live music some nights, when there is entertainment though there is no happy hour or drink specials (only small downside). Service was fast and attentive, too. read more

Back in high school, the cool kids wore M R Ducks t-shirts. Fast forward to last weekend (Saturday 5th), my wife and I finally went for the first time. Although it was really crowded and a band was playing, we were able to find a seat. The only "indoor" seating was around the bar, so we sat out in the early evening (but still blazing hot) sun. The food was good, and the drinks were better. Also despite it being very crowded, we received great service! Before we left, we bought a t-shirt. Does this makes me one of the cool kids now? The best thing about M.R. Ducks is the seating on the water and the view. I went for lunch and drinks over the weekend with some friends and really enjoyed the location of the restaurant. I had the pineapple rum crush which was AMAZING! My complaint about the restaurant was that my lunch was not good. I ordered the garden salad which came with browning lettuce, dried out cucumber slices, and salad dressing in a bag. I completely understand that salads are not their specialty with all of the seafood options, but a fresh salad should not be hard to master especially being so close to farming communities. The parking is a premium around their building. I was denied parking as a paying customer when there was 2 handicap spots and 6 regular parking spots. The rude parking attendant gave me 2 lies and 3 excuses why we couldn't park in the lot, after challenging her on the reasons she "Allowed" me to park but only for 45 minutes. After entering the business she continued to badger me about "their" parking. I was about to be a paying customer however I choose to spend my money on a business who realizes the customer comes first and left.
