At 6:50, we placed an order on Seamless. At 8:50,we tried calling them but no one was picking up the phone. At 9:30, we got through. They took our address and phone number and said they'd call us right back. At 9:45, we called them back and they said it was already out (we had decided on canceling but since it was out already, we figured why not.....haha we're idiots). It's 10:30 now and we still haven't received our food. C'mon, dudes. At least try. They offered no apologies about this, either. So, for the first time in my life, I'm posting a review about something/anything. That's how ridiculous I feel this is. We just called to cancel and get a refund. The excuse was "I thought you got your order already". Also, we got a sorry but that's it. They didn't even try to make it up. We will never eat here again and will strongly suggest against this establishment to anyone who will listen. What a waste for a place with pretty decent food. read more

Horrible service. Not only did they not give us the proper amount of water glasses, our Lo Mein dishes were super salty. I couldn't eat it so I had to recall it. In the end, we ended up with a horrible experience. When we were leaving the restaurant, the guy who was serving us ran outside to catch up to us and informed us that our couple of dimes wasn't enough for tips. It was mandatory for us to leave a 20% tip if we like the service and 15% if we DON'T like the the service. The "seaweed salad" is much more delicious than anything with that name should be. It was seriously delicious and I felt good for being healthy. Yet, I continued eating. I went for the sliced crispy ginger chicken which was also tasty and light. I finished the evening with some sticky rice for dessert. I love my shanghai style food and this place sucks. It is for non asians who don't know better. Shanghai style rice cakes really small and thinly sliced and were sweet and lacked depth. It is damn near impossible for a Shanghai restaurant to get this simple dish wrong. Also, the scallion pancakes were really greasy. Won't be returning. M Shanghai is the biggest rip off I have ever seen. The food may be catchy for some duped hipsters but with their tricky pricing you can come off wondering if the Chinese take out down the block would have been a better quality for the buck. What a waste of money and let us not even go into the crazy staff. There was barely any filling in the crab rangoon but ended up being just fine. The shrimp with broccoli was bland but also tasted very OFF. It went right in the trash. It was fishy and did not taste fresh. Whatever happened here, I hope they figure it out.

Decor would be described as "run down" or an "after thought". It's like any other place of this sort, a bit of a cookie cutter in that sense.
