Cute cafe in South Congress! I ordered the golden milk and it was tasty. it had the right about of turmeric and steamed milk. Although, I didn't taste the coffee as much. As far as baked goods, this place sure knows how to make damn good pastries. We ordered the everything Kolache and kouign amann. Both were absolutely delicious. The everything Kolache was everything one could hope for, soft pastry dough with cream cheese and everything seasoning. I've never had anything like it and it was breathtaking. The baristas are so pretentious and rude that it's not worth it-- there are way better places for coffee with nicer staff and cheaper prices. Don't sell out just for the Instagram photo. The barista with the short curly hair has been aggressively rude on two occasions. It's too bad because this place could be really cool but the staff completely ruins the experience. I've never done this before but actually emailed Mañana a few months ago about an incident with the curly haired barista in which she (unprovoked) yelled at my mom for not knowing how to work the touch pad, then demanded a tip, and about threw our drinks at us. Manana is the newest coffee shop on South Congress. It's boho-chic vibe is great for insta pics and interior design therapy. It's honestly beautiful. The coffee is good and the baristas are friendly. It's more of a destination coffee shop to sit at with a friend and catch up. The set up isn't conducive to working remotely, but that's what I like about it. It's the perfect spot to sit with a couple of pals and talk. Inside or outside, you can't go wrong - it's all lovely. read more

I moved here from LA & I've been to countless coffee shops, even have friends who own coffee shops and never have I had the bad experience that I had here, I've even been back to some coffee shops where the coffee wasn't the best but the atmosphere was great. I love the location of this coffee shop. Props on free valet parking as well! (As long as you are a hotel guest or eating /drinking at the restaurants) The baristas are knowledgeable about the coffee (we are not coffee experts so it was nice to have the advice). I loved the cortado... Just enough milk and sweetness. I like my coffee strong and not too sweet so the cortado with a splash of house syrup was spot on.. And the coffee art is the perfect touch. The macarons are delicious and huge. I hate small macarons!! I loved the PB&J macaron! I'm just dreaming about it now and wish that I had bought more. I have been coming to manana for a few years and after reading some other poc reviews with similar experiences I think it's time to speak up. The white staff members here are extremely racist! Every time I come in they treat me like some burden peasant and extremely rude every time. No it's not just a bad day! I have been in here multiple times to test my theory and I've watched time and time again them be nice to the white people around me and treat pocs like garbage. It's truly disgusting! All I've Had here was the cardamom latte which was really yummy, they also offer lavender (my favorite) as well. The space is so airy and contemporary which is very fitting for being right on the corner on SOCO by the soco hotel. Would recommend this lowkey place to get some work done and escape the heat. We are visiting from out of town and checked yelp for a good coffee shop. Mañana came up! The space itself is awesome and modern. The decor is great and I love all of the huge floor to ceiling windows that allow the natural light in. The staff were friendly and asked if we had any questions on what to order or anything about the shop. My husband ordered a chocolate pastry, I ordered a cinnamon roll and a dirty chai latte. The food was delicious. The cinnamon rolls are HUGE!!!! And it was probably one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had in my life! My husband loved his pastry. The -1 star is simply because the dirty chai latte wasn't too tasty. I couldn't taste any chai at all. It just seemed like a regular latte to me. If we lived here I would definitely come back and have this place in my coffee shop rotation! read more

I'm a sucker for chic, so I had to check this place out. I parked for $3/hr in the South Congress Hotel parking garage and walked up the ramp where you enter/exit and to the right to take the steps up to the shop. (They do validate, but make sure you remember to bring your ticket and ask!) I ordered an almond milk iced matcha latte and it came out so quickly I had it in my hand before I finished paying. Big ups for that. There really is basically only one private table inside (a 2 top), a communal table, and some bar-top seating by the window. On a warm enough day, there are lots of tables outside, but I wouldn't come prepared to linger on a cold day because there may not be anywhere to sit, especially if you want to do it at a private table. My matcha was amazing and the staff were friendly. I'd definitely stop in again if I was already out on South Congress. read more

Manana is part of the new South Congress Hotel, so of course it's gorgeous. It's near the back of the open courtyard area, so it feels like a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of South Congress Road. So far, their made-to-order drink menu consists only of coffees (which is fine by me) and not yet juices. They do have bottled Juiceland juices in the fridge though. There's a good amount of pastries to choose from. The one I had was good. They apparently make them in-house. Impressive. I'd come back to read a book...or the paper, if I did that sort of thing. Manana is one of my favorite coffee spots in Austin! The coffee/espresso has a fantastic flavor and I've been about six times now, so I can speak to the fact that espresso drinks are consistently well made (which is big deal for me). They also have a variety of non-dairy, local milk options, which I think is extremely important for a coffee shop. I am not a fan of their pastries, unfortunately, which is why I'm giving four stars instead of five. That said, they have good customer service and a beautiful shop and the coffee is amazing - so please give them a try! I don't ever dock a restaurant or shop for parking situations, but do be advised when you come here it can get busy at peak hours and parking can be difficult to find! If you're able to park in the garage next door, they will validate your ticket if it's under 30 minutes - however - in my experience that's not enough time to get in and out during busy hours. If an owner/manager is reading this, I'd recommend speaking to the garage manager about allowing 45 minute or 1 hour validation, however I understand that may be completely out of your control :) Bottom line: amazing coffee, beautiful atmosphere! She answered all of our questions and suggested a couple of drinks for us as well. My friends and I came here on a Saturday so like everywhere else on SoCo, it was busy. They have very limited indoor seating unfortunately (the reason I took off a star). Otherwise, the décor is gorgeous -- beautiful blue tiling on the bar. Went to Mañana for the first time this week and enjoyed my time there. It's a cute, cozy and adorable cafe with all the vibes. I ordered their golden latte and a Kouign Amann which they heated up for me. It was delicious but quite expensive-$10 for both but I guess that seems to be equivalent to a lot of cafes. Their space is small so there's not a lot of seating however you can take your drinks/food to go and enjoy it in the hotel so that's nice that you have that option. Of all the coffee shops I visited while in Austin, this one had the nicest setup. I loved the wooden simplicity throughout, the high ceilings and the flow of natural light.
