    PIZZA MACELLO + spritz

Amazing service at the bar + perfect happy hour experience. The pizza was perfectly cooked with flavor to match. THE OLIVES. Heavenly. I will be back.

Takes credit card. Excellent excellent service Lots of table seating and bar seating. Marcello Pizza ($24)- really good pizza. Thin crust. Risotto Adriatico $30- hearty amount of clams and mussels. Great tomatoes flavor. Risotto could be more soft

Definitely a hidden gem in West Loop When there's like 200 different Italian places in west loop, it's easy to just go for the obvious places but this restaurant at the edge of west loop (further west from the center/hub of west loop) was such a great find! Wood fired pizza pugliese (mortadella, burrata on a tomato sauce base) was really delicious and the crust was baked really well with a nice crunch but not burnt edges! Definitely less fluffy than a traditional neapolitan but the flavors were really solid - well balanced and not to heavy on the salt The seafood risotto was also pretty well cooked. Service was alright and the interior decor was definitely on the ... more edgy...?? Side but overall still a great spot for a casual dinner / date night!

Bit of a hidden gem in west loop! Street side parking available outside and it's not as crowded because it's a little further out from the other restaurants. Plenty of seating inside. Their pizza is so good, crust is a the perfect texture. I got the lamb chop casserole, the casserole was on the saltier side but the lamp chops were perfectly cooked. Not a huge mocktail selection and the mule I had wasn't very good, so docked points for that.

I went for my birthday dinner and had a very pleasant experience. The server was attentive but not overbearing and everyone in my party was happy with their food. Everything is quite pricy as can be expected for the area, but splitting a pizza is a great cost efficient option. The place is also cozy and a good mix of slightly upscale but not at all stuffy. Would 100% recommend.

Restaurant week review: 1. Fried Artichoke & Cauliflower 2. Cavatelli al Forno 3. Lamb Chop 4. Tartufo Di Nocciola - cocoa covered hazelnut truffle with cacoa liqueur The quality of food can be summed up as well-made but not particularly special. Fried artichoke was tasty. I liked the batter although it could be crispier. Cavatelli pasta was homely. Lamb chop was tender and juicy but wasn't seasoned. Tartufo Di Nocciola was basically a chocolate sauce covered chocolate ice cream. Again, not bad, not incredible. Service was not the greatest. Staff were slow to change out our plates and not all of them sometimes. But our interactions with them were nice.

Hidden little gem in Fulton market. Dark and romantic atmosphere. The food was decent overall, but the vodka sauce lacked flavor I was hoping for. While the pasta was cooked well, the sauce could have used a bit more flavoring. On the plus side, the service was attentive and warm, with staff eager to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Overall, while the atmosphere and service stood out, the food didn't quite match the enchanting setting.

This restaurant is located in the west loop area, and the atmosphere is wonderful. You enter and walk into an old shopfront with plenty of Italian cheeses to choose from. The seating area has beautiful lanterns adorning the ceiling and murals along the walls. We ordered burrata to share, which was quite yummy. Additionally, we ordered the pizza barese and risotto barese with sausage. I enjoyed both, feeling the pizza was better than the pasta. In terms of pricing, the food here is a bit on the expensive side though pretty comparable to surrounding restaurants.

We LOVE a Friday night at Macello's! The best pizza in the city, delicious salad (lightest dressing! So classy!), the artichokes & a few cocktails

Great place. Food and service were great (thanks to Sarah!). She recommended and excellent Puglia red whine.

Valentine's Day dinner with the family... we were escorted to our table right away, the inside is unpretentious and cosy with wood fire - pizza oven and minimal decorations. Our server Joseph brought out our drinks and accidentally dropped beer on me and broke the bottle . My new red dress messed up and I was wet and uncomfortable for rest of the evening. My wine was served in a stemless glass not sure why , didn't enhance my experience of the good Pinot noir. We got the mussels, delicious! Some sausage appetizer and Main course whole chicken, pasta and seafood risotto. Dessert cannoli and tiramisu. Loved the pasta sauce wish they sold in the deli up front. They offered lemon cello @ the end for the valentines. Not sure if I want to come back .

This a fun looking place with an old time feel. The service Is excellent! The wines and mixed cocktails were great too. The food was very good. The one item we had that was the winner was their pizza! Right out of a wood burning stove and the ingredients tasted like they were imported from Italy! The crust was crispy right to the center. I would definitely go back again!

This place is adorable. The veggie pizza was topped with amazing fresh veggies and wood fired right in front of us. Our server, Valerie, was delightful and attentive. The atmosphere is so wonderful! Loved the Italian music. Had a great birthday celebration here! Can't wait to come back!

Great lunch/breakfast spot with fast service and simple/fresh sandwiches…read more The oven roasted turkey sandwich was great, tasted like something my grandma would make me (in a good way). Will be back.

I really want to like them so much more than I do. If there were a continuum from hipster deli…read more(think Mile End) to traditional deli (Manny's, 2nd Avenue, etc) Schneider would on the hipster side of center. Two of us shared a half pound pastrami on rye with a side of hash browns. The rye was pretty decent but the pastrami was sliced far too thick and the meat was lean. That is not a good thing when it comes to pastrami and I attribute the lean meat to the deli catering to its hipster-ish audience. Although the flavor was decent, the sandwich was dry and difficult to eat. We disagreed on the generously sized pickle. One of us thought the flavor was just right, the other not so much. We both agreed on the hash browns. It's a no-go. They were well fried but entirely unseasoned. I understand the lack of schmaltz but there was no onion or salt or anything else. Waffle House has nothing to worry about. (IYKYK) Service was fast and polite. The space is tiny, but it works. Prices are okay for this area but if you want traditional deli in Chicago, go to Manny's.

We were quoted a time of 20 minutes out. We arrived a little early and the gal at the counter told us it would be a few minutes. She called out when ready and sat at one of the tables in the front to eat. Each sub had a decent amount of filling. While we each offered the smallest subs, we were plenty full when we left. We enjoyed our subs and now have a place to add to our list for a new quick lunch. For the store itself, they have some odds and ends but many Italian staples. The counter and deli had a steady flow of customers in and out.

As I parked this large Chevy Suburban parked in front of me. As I sat in the car & saw one person after another unloaded & head towards Potbelly. In all I counted 8 guys unloading from this Suburban. & head to Potbelly. I'm like oh hell no. That's when I saw CONTE DI SAVOIA @ 1438 W Taylor Street on the north side of Taylor Street. I decided to cross over & check out this old world Italian Deli. Conti Di Savoia is small Italian grocery store w/an Italian deli that has w/outstanding & inexpensive sandwiches. When I went in there was a line of people waiting @ the deli counter waiting to place their order. I must have looked confused because the owner directed me & told the line started on the other side towards the back of the store. What I found was an awesome of fresh handmade sandwiches for a very reasonable price. I ordered an 8" pastrami w/mozzarella cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, red onions, mayo, & Italian oil drizzled. What I got was an awesome inexpensive sandwich loaded with/fresh ingredients. Absolutely delicious. After I got my sandwich the owner (I introduced myself (I think his name was Mike) rang up the sandwich. He said they have been there for 35 years. There's also a small dining area in the front of the store where I sat & devoured my sandwich. Like I said this is small Italian store w/a nice selection of products like meats, cheeses, pastas, wine, olive & deli items. I throughly enjoyed finding Conte Di Savoia. The pastrami sandwich was awesome w/a generous portion of pastrami & toppings for a reasonable price. I'm the type of person who who loves finding new places to eat. Most times unless I find great food & reasonable prices I won't go back but I feel like I found a real gem W/Conti Di Savoia. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN.

It came as a great recommendation! We didn't have it for a while since we live the low-carb life but were thrilled to learn they do a "sub in a tub". I love their tuna salad/sub. I like that they don't have onions at the deli so it doesn't overpower everything else. My husband typically loves the club. They rolled a generous amount into a container and I used scissors to quickly and easily cut it. It was a perfect lunch and I have enough for another tomorrow!
