We were able to get a reservation for Valentine's Day. We had a great evening. They had a…read moreValentine's Day special, but we chose to try other things. I love that they cook the food for you at the table, my husband is ok with either or. We started with Mandoo (pan fried beef dumplings) yum! For our meets to be grilled, we chose Bulgogi and Seang Kalbi Gui, it came with several small sides. My husband ordered several Màkku beers in the original flavor. For dessert, we had the most scrumptious cheesecake we've ever had. We were both surprised by how delicious it was and we wish we had ordered one for each of us. Will definitely be back soon for more! Thank you!

The Soon Doo Boo was very tasty and had a little kick. Not as much as I would like but very close to what I would expect. The Jap Chae flavor was good but it did not have any spinach and not enough of other vegetables; but as I said, pretty tasty. The place is pretty roomy so would probably not need to wait for a table. The rest of the food were mostly misses, the worst being the Kalbi. The flavor was a little too sweet but in a teriyaki sauce kind of way, not the Korean pear/sugar/soy sauce way. The seafood pajeon was too burnt and did not have any seafood, almost all batter. The banchan was ok but the kimchee was a little too ripe. Service was a little show because they were short staffed according to our waiter. So all in all, just not a great experience. I would probably be a little more lenient but prices are similar to Flushing/Bayside even though I would assume their overhead was lower.

Found this little gem on our way back home from Connecticut and I'm glad we decided to stop in. We…read moreordered the seafood soft tofu with a side of ramen, seafood pancake, garlic fried chicken wings, and my wife got the R1 combo. Overall, the food was really good and exactly what I'd expect from a family-owned Korean restaurant--comforting, flavorful, and made with care. The soft tofu soup was satisfying, the garlic fried chicken wings were crispy, and the seafood pancake had a great taste and texture with a nice crispness throughout. My only minor critique is that I wish there had been a bit more seafood in the pancake, but it was still very delicious overall. One thing that really stood out was the hospitality. They brought out a complimentary steamed egg dish for my daughter, which was incredibly thoughtful and much appreciated. Small gestures like that really make a difference. The atmosphere was comfortable, the service was warm and attentive, and the overall dining experience was excellent. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area!

Our waitress even brought out a kimchi pancake to try for free. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Korean food and outstanding service, this spot is definitely worth a visit. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Really flavorful and satisfying. I also got a bottle of guava soju and it paired well. For dessert, we tried the Korean donuts and I loved them. They came warm, soft, and coated in cinnamon sugar with a sweet cream dipping sauce. Honestly some of the best donuts I've had, they were fresh, warm, and delicious. I'd come back just for those alone. I heard their fried chicken is good, so I'll definitely be back to try it. But those donuts? 10/10. Would absolutely recommend.

If you're a fan of crispy chicken, Bonchon absolutely delivers. This was my first visit, and it…read moremade a strong impression right away. The shop looks small from the outside, but once you step in, it's surprisingly spacious. Clean, well-lit, and nicely laid out. Comfortable for dining in. We were seated immediately. Our hostess, Amber, was very patient and helpful since it was our first time. We decided to order a little bit of everything, and that was the right move. We went with the five-piece drumsticks, split half soy garlic and half Korean BBQ. The chicken is double-fried, which gives it an incredible crunch on the outside while staying juicy inside. The soy garlic was savory with a touch of sweetness and very well balanced. The Korean BBQ had more heat and bold flavor, coated in a sticky, sweet-spicy glaze that keeps you going back for more. The meal came with coleslaw, which honestly surprised me. I'm not usually a coleslaw person, but this one worked. Lightly sweet, creamy, and refreshing. It paired well with the chicken and helped cut through the richness. We also ordered the seasoned fries, and they were excellent. Crispy, well-seasoned, and topped with garlic, parmesan, and parsley that actually added flavor instead of just looking good. Easily one of the better fry sides I've had with fried chicken. Everything came out hot, fresh, and clearly made with care. If you've never had Korean fried chicken before, Bonchon is a great place to start. I'll definitely be back.

We started with the banchan, then meat mandu and fried chicken wings came out. DDUKBOKEE came right after as all our appetizers. The waitstaff were attentive and helpful. Only complaint about the setting is that every time someone went in or out, a rush of cold air would enter. Try not to sit too close to the door. As far as the food, daughter and I just ordered soon dubu (soft tofu stew) and ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes). We're Korean so flavor profile wise, it seemed to cater to non Korean palates. The soon dubu was not spicy and had too much of a sesame oil flavor and the ddukbokki was sweet with no spiciness at all. I think if you are non Korean, the seasoning was good and the food flavorful, just not the flavors we were expecting. Also, although the menu makes it seem like you have to pay for the banchan (appetizers), we did not, it came with the staple kimchee, and a couple other dishes. Not sure why they had prices on the menu unless they charge for refills? They also gave us this yummy ice cream bite for dessert which is usually unheard of in Korean restaurants. Having said all this, I do want to recommend this place, it was a nice local restaurant to get some Asian dishes with a great waitstaff.
