It's a delicious char, broiled thick burger on a brioche bun. I had an entire almost an entire avocado on mine. It was out of this world with the waffle style, sweet potato fries. Stop it!!!! I can't even- it was so delicious. I can see why people rave about this. They do not have an indoor seating however it's enclosed for the most part with heaters fans if you need it very dog friendly great music playing, the waitress was so incredibly friendly and sweet. Came here on the weekend and it was definitely less busy than many of the restaurants in old town. Very casual and can people watch easily from the tables. The servers were very fast and friendly. Happy hour marg was decent. I ordered a patty melt which has swiss and grilled onions. I dipped it in the ranch because I felt it needed some sauce. Other bites I put mustard on. Very good! Old Town is usually flooded w tourists just passing by or visiting the esthetics of the old world charm that Old Town Temecula has to offer. Parking can be difficult but there is a huge parking structure near City Hall that can accommodate a few hundred cars. This place hasn't changed one bit and still looks the same. So far, being seated and the waiter, excellent. If its cold outside, they have heaters to keep ya warm. Wife n me got here Saturday around 5 pm and its busy but not stupid crowded. The restaurant looks like an old fashion hamburger stand. There is a very small parking structure shared with Texas Lil's. We were lucky to get the spot. You can also sit at the stools along the window area. The hamburger patty size was much smaller than the bun. The cheeseburger was little bit bigger but smaller than the bun. The chicken burger was tender but not as flavorful. It was little burnt. The fries were okay. The onion rings were bland and kind of greasy. Overall, the food was okay. I paid $75.52 + generous tips. The one thing that I liked was the branded burned on the buns. So I was looking forward to a nice big burger and fries, and wanted to also sample their fried zucchini. I had been here before a few years back and I remember it to have been good. And the burger was actually quite good this time too. Large patty, large avocado slices and a reasonable amount of bacon and cheese, mine was the Cali ABC. My wife got the Ortega chile and cheese burger, also quite good. Burgers are around $20 with the fries only and extra for other sides. Not bad. Then we looked at the sides and were both bummed. My fries were a negligible portion as my picture shows, and were actually really soggy. Her fried Zucchini as you see in the pic (no we had not even eaten one) were an additional $4, and actually tasted good, but we were both shocked at how little was given as a portion. So good burgers but sides are lacking. Not hard to make good fries so this was surprising. And not expensive to give a decent portion of either. We got the food to go, but inside it looked like it was pretty dirty too. Was and could be a really exceptional place if they just ironed out the problems. I hate when a restaurant starts to get too comfy with success and begins phoning in some of their product. If they keep the burgers good and work on those sides I'd be back often! My family and I decided to try this joint in Old Town Temecula. We wanted something that can cater to all our needs and we were hoping this would be it, but it wasn't. I honestly was pretty disappointed with my experience overall as well. Located on one end of Old Town Temecula, parking can be a bit sketch. They do have a lot, but as the day progresses into busier hours, that lot will become a challenge. You can try for street parking or other lots but it's overall a challenge especially because that street gets so busy. Pro tip, park at the hotels thats about a half mile away and just walk. Its not a bad walk at all. You can tell that this place has been here for a while. It looks like any average burger shack, but you'd expect it to be good especially having a good history. The first thing you see when tou walk to the entrance are trophies that say "Temecula's Best Burger" and different articles and reviews that praise this place, but that wasn't exactly the case in my opinion. This isn't your nice sit down burger restaurant, it's literally a shack. It's not cleanest, it just gets the job done. Service was ok. Yes all the workers were politely but there moments where I felt like they had tunnel vision. We'd try to flag them down and they'd walk right past us. We'd call out excuse me and they still wouldn't here us either. So that part was a bit of a turn off for me too. The price of the food did not match what we were getting at all. My boyfriend and I ordered the Triple 3 burger. For $25.99 I was expecting the burger to be big, it wasn't. Nothing about that matched the price. Was it cause they just branded the logo onto their bread? Not sure. The patty wasn't that big and the pork belly was kind of dry. There was honestly nothing special about that burger and I don't see what was award winning about it. Their onion rings and fried zucchini were average. Nothing special there either. For the price of our burger, we could've gotten 3 at In n Out, maybe more. Or just walk down the road more to 1909, you'd get your money's worth there for sure.
