UPDATE to original review. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer, which comes with chips (they were nice enough to bring us bread per our request). The picture here lies. This was wonderful. We then devoured the southwest egg rolls, among the best I've had. No frozen fare here! They are made in-house and are fabulous. In my previous review, I delighted in the pilgrim sandwich and the crusted chicken romano dish. This time, I tried the barbecue chicken pizza which had (surprisingly sweet) onions and cheese and was wonderfully sweet and spicey without being too heavily laden in barbecue sauce (a frequent occurrence which is why I don't typically order it). It even beats the very solid barbeque pie at Giovanni's down the road in Glastonbury, an area favorite. read more

We've eaten here three other times. I try to order something different each time from their huge menu. This time I ordered the Cuban sandwich. Let me preface by saying I grew up in Tampa where the Cuban was born (arguably). I know good Cubans. I miss a good Cuban. The Cuban I ordered from Maggie's was not good. At the foundation of all Cuban sandwiches is a flavorful roasted pork along with ham, Swiss cheese and pickles. I never found the ham and the roasted pork on this sandwich was the most over cooked dry atrocity I've had on a sandwich. The fries were ok nothing special. I gave three stars because most of what we've had before has been good enough to keep us going back. I wish they'd strike the Cuban from their menu. The menu is huge and a bit overwhelming, but in a good way. I feel like a large group of people can each find something they'd like to eat. I ordered a raspberry mint iced tea which was underwhelming. I couldn't taste any raspberry at all, so I feel it wasn't worth the price. My husband ordered the Back East Porter Chicken strips and fries which he said were good but could have been crispier. I ordered the Chinese Chicken salad which was very tasty , good sized, and apparently something newer to the menu. For desert we ordered the campfire s'mores for two, which included enough for two sandwiches each. They were your basic s'mores, nothing special. We aren't in Glastonbury often so I'm not sure how often we'll visit this establishment, but we would go back and try it again. read more

Great place to grab a beer after a long day, the menu is like a dictionary, super long, but the food was very good. After two orders of fried pickles and three beers it was time to go. They have a nice area for beer tasting and plenty of TVs to watch sports on the service was a little slow but it was a Friday night and there was like 1.2 million people there :-) read more

Maggie McFly's is always one of my favorite restaurants to go to. Their menu is so large, so there's always something for everyone - even picky eaters! Plus their drink menu is great, it has tons of different cocktails, as well as a huge selection of craft beer and liquors. Most of the time my food at Maggie's is great - but it can sometimes be inconsistent. My most recent visit I ordered a Blue Cheese BLT burger and it was phenomenal! Super juicy with a generous portion of blue cheese and super crispy bacon - one of the best burgers I've had in a while. I also got the margarita flight, which was good, but not sure if I'd order again. My friend shared her spinach artichoke dip with me and it was great. I really liked that they give you so many different dipping options vs just tortilla chips like most places do. My only issue on my most recent visit was the service. We waited at least 10 minutes after sitting down to be greeted by our waiter, and maybe another 20 minutes before drinks came out. My food actually came out before my drink did, and then once we were finished eating we probably had to wait another 20 minutes for the waiter to come over with the check. I saw other tables around being waited on quicker by other staff, so maybe it was just our waiter. Overall, definitely one of my favorites in the Glastonbury area. read more

Went to lunch with my daughter around 130PM. We walked in to see no one at the hostess stand. There was a sign that something to the affect - the entire world called out. Be patient as your wait times may be longer than usual- The sign was sooo true. Not only did it take 10 minutes to get a table, but the tables were filthy and some of the dishes and silverware. Our waitress was excellent. We were almost 2 hours for a very quick lunch. We got fried pickles as an appetizer and she got the pulled pork sandwich on a pretzel roll. Her side salad came with honey mustard dressing which was spoiled. I got a basic BLT on rye with a side of fries. The food was just okay but not disappointing. I do not like giving 3 star reviews at this time because I know a ton of places are short staffed. read more

I went here on a Monday evening with a co-worker and it was PACKED. honestly cars kept circling around to find parking to the point where people just kind of parked on the side of the lot, not in actual spots. I can't imagine how busy it gets on a weekend. There are A LOT of things on the menu which is up to you if that's a good or bad thing. It was a bit overwhelming but at least it will appease literally anyone because of the variety of choices. The food and drinks were great. For drinks we got the Slim Mojito which was really good, the Raspberry E-Tini which was yummy but a bit sweet, and the Spicy Citrus which was the perfect amount of spicy. For food we got the New York Strip Oscar Style which was cooked to my liking (medium rare) and the sauce on top was great! Not a great experience. The only reason I might return in the french onion soup. The restaurant is located across from the hotel so it was very convenient and I was quickly seated and offered a menu. Not crowded by any means. Plenty of empty tables and seats at the bar. Eventually the bartender came by and took my drink order. (Not a huge selection of beers I drink). She asked if I was eating and gave me a placemat when I confirmed. Half a beer later she came back for my food order. I went with the french onion soup and the shepards pie. The soup is really really good. The pie, not so much. The gravy is way too overpowering. Not sure what seasonings were used but it killed the flavors of everything else on the plate. I ate about a quarter of it and couldn't lose the taste. It's hard to make a bad shepherds pie, but they succeeded. Between that and the poor service I will find other places to eat when in the area. Service was good till it wasn't. At the end of the meal, the waitress whose name was Nicole, just stood at the table waiting for a method of payment without delivering an itemized bill. When she brought the receipt back to the table, still no itemized receipt. Food was not good. The menu has too many items on it. Are you a steak house, Italian, Tex-Mex, or Seafood ? My wife ordered pasta with meatballs. Pasta was properly cooked. The meatballs were bland, dry, and the texture was smooth like overcooked oatmeal. My wife said she thought she was eating cat food. I tasted it and fully agreed with her. I had the salad with steak cooked medium. Can hardly believe I paid $27 for it! Over ripe cherry tomatoes, about another day from rotting. Steak that was more fat and gristle than steak. Ordered the Red Velvet cup cake for dessert. No cream cheese icing, as dry as the chalk from an elementary school chalkboard, and was told it was re-warmed in the microwave. Total bill was $130.06 before tip. When I spend my hard earned money on a meal away from home, I expect quality food. This meal was far from good quality. Walked out feeling like we had been ripped off. We love Maggie McFly's because of their excellent food quality and extensive menu-- seriously, the menu feels like a phone book. The only reason we're giving this experience a 4 instead of a 5 is because we ordered two electric martinis and they didn't have the "electric" part of the drinks, the color-changing ice cubes. We were disappointed, but went ahead with our order. The rough part is mine was supposed to come with pop rocks on the rim but it ended up coming with salt. I had to send it back bc there was no bacon. I was surprised my plate got taken back and got brought back with added bacon on top. I was expecting a redo... 3 tacos- beef chicken pork. All did the trick for the night out. I wish the beef was more tender tasted reheated or something... but nonetheless standard. I love their options for flights. I do like the atmosphere of this place however the food is mediocre. The menu is huge which can be a plus because at least if you go with a group there is something for everyone, however bigger menus can also mean the recipes haven't been perfected. I started with the French onion soup, edible but I wouldn't order it again. As for my entree I got the Louisiana chicken with tortellini that the server recommended. The chicken was cooked well and the pasta was good, had a little bit of a kick to it with the red pepper flakes. My main complaint with this dish was the sauce. It was very oily and I feel it was as if the sauce got reheated in a microwave and the main ingredients got separated from the oil. 3 stars because it wasn't terrible but wasn't anything great. I had first been to the Maggie McFly's out in Southbury years ago, which is a very different vibe than the Glastonbury location. The Glastonbury Maggie McFly's felt bigger and was louder, and I would suggest the Glastonbury spot would be a lot of fun for a bigger family or group of friends. The menu is huge, so there's definitely something for everyone, although I would say that any restaurant (not specifically a Maggie McFly's) with such an extensive menu is going to have a hard time doing anything particularly well. We were seated after about a 20 minute wait, but then waited another good 20 minutes just to have a server take our first beverage order. I unfortunately had to ask a gentleman who walked by if he knew who should be waiting on us; he left then came back and said he didn't realize he was supposed to be waiting on us. ‍ I'm recently sober, and was also out with sober friends, so we asked about the non-alcoholic offerings, as their drink menu is nearly almost as big as their food menu. Sadly, there was only one non-alcoholic beer, which was the golden beer from Athletic. Not my favorite, and had hoped for a couple of other options, but that was okay. Service was disappointingly slow. Food was average and as expected. We started with an order of the Crispy Coconut Shrimp and the Fried Calamari to start. My friends ordered the chicken wings, the Southern Fried Chicken Dinner, and I ordered the Brie and Fig Burger (with bacon). I appreciated the plating, food took a while to come out and none of it was very warm by the time it made it to our table. It was a solid 90 minutes from when we first arrived to when we were served our entrees. The most disappointing part was dessert. It took a LONG time to flag down our server to even put in a dessert order (at least 40 minutes after being served our entrees). My friends ordered the Oreo Cheesecake which didn't offer any semblance of Oreo at all, except for maybe the crust. While visually appealing, my friends didn't care for it. I ordered the apple crisp, which featured apples from Lyman Orchard, and a coffee. Apple crisp wasn't too bad, but I don't think I've ever been served such a cold coffee without ice in it. I was surprised that a plain coffee could somehow be messed up. Pretty sure I asked for an espresso first and was told they didn't have any, hence the regular coffee. All in all, the Glastonbury Maggie's would be a good place for larger groups where the variety of food and beverage options will be appreciated, and the noise level and service wouldn't be as much of a disappointment as if you were on a romantic date. read more

Went back there after 5 years, there is always a lot of variety to choose from, everything we ordered came cooked perfectly, friendly and polite staff, I had tried the fajitas with steak, my boys tried the fettuccini Alfredo and the Baja burger they said it was finger licking good. I would say for the fajitas the tortillas were not warm enough, next time I will try something else's the seating areas are large and can fit large families. Going back there with my friends soon got to try the Lamb Gyro and the carrot cake heard some good things about those. read more

I used to really enjoy this place. It was the very last restaurant my husband and I went to prior to the Covid-19 shut down in 2020. We had noticed an overall decline across the board, but they were always busy, so maybe it was us? This weekend ( 3/2021 ) was the first time we ventured back in over a year. I was very disappointed. It was dirty!! The surfaces were sticky, floor was slippery but dull in appearance, the windows are filmy. They've really let this place go. And whats with the horrible fake wood, plastic serving trays? Am I at a cafeteria? The menu hadn't been refreshed, over priced for when you get. I true let down. We came here for lunch because it was the closest place. Between the group we had a variety of burgers and a paella. Everything was ok, but nothing too exciting. My Brie and Fig burger had so much brie and fig jam that you can barely taste the beef. Another person's garbage burger was supposed to have bacon with it and it was described as lackluster. They literally have every cuisine you can think of... and it's all pretty good! Some favorites are the giant pretzel and the ahi tuna tacos. Portion sizes on everything are huge! The atmosphere inside is very cozy and comforting and the outdoor seating is a great touch... especially during COVID. Wait staff is friendly and the food usually comes out quite quickly. The menu here is huge and it took awhile to lock in our order. Lots of choices, so definitely review the menu beforehand if you are on a time limit. Maggie's Nacho Platter is tortilla chips, melted cheese, pinto beans, black olives, tomatoes, jalapeños, scallions, sour cream, salsa and housemade guacamole with beef. The guacamole and beef really made this nacho! I wish they had melted some cheese on top of the beef though. The jalapenos seemed to have been missing as well. Also tried the Rose Paloma (Awesome!), house margarita, Maggie's Burrito and the Thai Chicken Salad. Loved the Thai Chicken Salad out of everything we had. We're sitting in Maggie McFly's right now. It's 630 Friday evening March 15, 2024. I will never come back here again. They totally are disrespectful. My husband ordered a Ruben. It was chunks of corn beef. I had a taco which had no flavor. The rice was all stuck together, and it was not a good flavor. $71 for food and drinks for two people totally not worth it. We complain to the manager who absolutely did nothing but tell us to come in and spend another $70 and try our luck again and I'm not willing to spend that wheel any longer Maggie McFly is horrible and I don't recommend this Anyone No stars. -5 read more
