It was chunks of corn beef. I had a taco which had no flavor. The rice was all stuck together, and it was not a good flavor. $71 for food and drinks for two people totally not worth it. For me, Maggies is a fancy diner. A place to go when you don't know what you want, but want a big enough selection to please everyone. They do a lot of different things, and they do them okay. This last visit I got 3 street tacos and and a coconut shrimp appetizer. The shrimp were pretty decent. about u-16s with a decent amount of coconut crusting on them. the pina colada sauce was more coconut on coconut which was a bit much, but still tasty. The Street tacos were pretty good. came with a chickpea and corn salsa and a cup of rice which were pretty interesting fillers. The tacos were good too, they tasted decent and had a good amount of meat. I have had really good tacos though, so I didn't have high expectations. thankfully they met that bar, just didn't exceed it either. So why no 5 star? It's good food, not great food. like noodles and co, they have a good selection but they don't excel in anything. If you go in with a diner mindset, you'll find some good eats here. I've lived in town for years but have only been to Maggie Mcflys on one other occasion when it first opened. However during Covid, we've driven by any number of times and it's been packed. They normally have a good sized patio with a great large rectangular gas firepit that looks very inviting. During the pandemic, they've expanded their outdoor seating significantly by extending the table areas into the grass along Gbury blvd; they are well spaced. I recently visited on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch and cocktails with my cousin and her husband . The food was decent and presented nicely. The menu is large with something for every taste.. Two of us had the short rib butternut risotto special, one had the bratwurst sampler and one the chicken sandwich with prosciutto . We LOVED the option of drink flights. We chose the mule flights which had two awesome options out of the four!! I wish there was a martini flight! Our waitress was friendly, attentive and efficient. Tbh, the experience was more of a 3.5 but I rounded up because a little positive goes a long way in these difficult times for restaurants, This is only one of a handful of outdoor dining experiences I've undertaken during this odd time in history. Prior to covid, we always dined out 1-2 times weekly. I also rarely do takeout because frankly it's never as good as dining in person. I've cooked a lot over the past 6 months so after much deliberation, chose Maggie Mcflys as we wanted something local, and safe with well spaced outdoor dining. My criticism is this: if I opted for outdoor dining during covid, it's because I do not want ANY indoor exposure. I was shocked knowing the setup and location of their extensive outdoor seating area, to be directed inside to see hostess inside for seating , I'm sorry that makes zero sense. You easily can place a hostess stand to the left of your entrance to avoid guests having to walk through an indoor space. I know there's only a few more weeks of outdoor dining but please consider changing this procedure. read more

Although my visit wasn't perfect, I like this restaurant and would return. I regularly drive I-91 and this restaurant wasn't too far off the highway( about 3 miles) to make a diversion. Maggie's has an unbelievably HUGE menu with TONS of options. A full bar with an equally HUGE amount of choices. They are able to accommodate most gluten free requests. We were told that about 90% of the menu can be made gluten free. Our food was delicious. I got cup of chili with tortilla chips and a small wedge salad. The rest of my party got pasta and meatballs, GF chicken sandwich with GF fries, and a sesame walnut chicken salad and a side of edamame. They do have a separate deep fat fryer for fried GF food items. There was a bit of a mix up with our app coming out with the meal and the server, not overall service, was ok. For 1 pm on a weekday it was busy and louder than average. With that being said, the food took about 40 minutes to arrive. I think the server thought we wanted everything at once? read more

Too many choices a condensed version or an executive summary at the beginning would be helpful. Especially when the waitress is waiting impatiently for you to order. But don't send her away because she'll never come back. Had to call the front desk to get someone to take my order. The food was OK. Sort of what you would expect from a kitchen that has to deal with that many options. Nothing was bad. Just nothing was exceptional either. Can I give negative stars? What is wrong with this place? We loved the Manchester one and it was my birthday so we thought let's try out the Glastonbury location. First when we entered, we just stood there like idiots. Staff passed us so many times, no one greeted, no one said anything. We looked at each other and literally started staring at the end at the staff so that they pay attention. Finally one did. She seated us at a corner table. 2. The menus she gave us were sticky, literally you can see something on top of them. Is the pandemic over? No need to maintain hygiene? 3. There are menu scans but they don't work. They only show you drink menu. 4. My boy friend said he is interested in a flight of beer. The waiter went away, we thght he went to bring in the fight order papers but no he brought a flight of beer!!! So you just assumed what we want, you won't give us options and let us choose!!!!!! 2 of them were horrible. Waste of money. 5. The wait for food was looooonnnnggg And this was a Tuesday evening not even weekend. 6. I saw every table had a basket of what looked like bread but our waiter didn't care. So I asked him if that's complimentary and he looked at me like now you want free bread!!! What nonsense behavior!!! 7. Finally food came. My fish and chips was already cold and limp. Looked like it was ready long back but he just didn't think of serving it hot and fresh. 8. This is the first time we actually left no tip being disgusted with the service. 9. When I reached home I had diarrhea type, my boyfriend had stomach ache too, so definitely the food was really bad or we had food poisoning. I came here with 2 other people on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy some drinks and snacks. Note there is not weekend happy hour so it will all be regular price. The outdoor seating is very pretty and there is a lot of it. There are tables as well as nice couches to sit at. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was alright. I liked the steamed edamame and the beef skewers. I thought everything was a little over priced however. I have been to MM many times and i find the Glastonbury location to be much better than Manchester. Generally, the service is better and their chef is better. It's a go-to lunch spot for me. I had a farewell HH there this evening and everything was very good. Fries, chicken blast, eggplant fries, deep fried macaroni & cheese, Baja chicken tacos, devil eggs, and steak egg rolls....all well prepared and delicious! I like the wide variety of cocktails. Overall huge menu with unlimited options for any person in a party. If you have people who enjoy different types of foods or are picky- this is the place for them! The menu has to be at least 8 pages long, giving ample room for someone to find something they like. I had gotten the Spanish omelette when I went with a side of hash browns and it hit the spot! They have great brunch options along with good brunch drink deals if that is something you are interested in. The service was quick and when we couldn't make up our mind the first time our waitress checked in on us she was eager to come back and see if we were ready along with offer us some of the fan favorites! Another stellar experience tonight ! My cousin and I decided to come back for more appetizers and they did not disappoint. Our waitress Brianna gave Us phenomenal service ! I couldn't of asked for more she was polite, fast and checked on us repeatedly and didn't rush us at all. Those things I appreciate. Food : we shared the appetizers and started off with loaded fries . We had asked for them specifically not seeing any on the menu. Best tasting crunchy fries with bacon and cheese piled on top and a side of sour cream . Next we ordered the steak skewers again because last time they were so tasty ! They are delicious and they were just as great again with a side of that good sauce I talked about last time . I have never been to Maggie McFly's. I stopped in for dinner on Saturday October 7th. We were greeted by a server named Kesli (I hope I am spelling that correct) And she was an absolute delight. I thought she was a veteran server, but I later found out that this was her first night on the floor by herself! She is a keeper! I started with nachos which were terrific, then we had the lettuce chicken wraps, also terrific. Our server was very persuasive and almost had us on getting the brownie sundea, but we were too full. My husband had a burger and said it was very good. I had Chase's Chicken sandwich which was ok. The fried chicken and the sweet potato fries both tasted like they were fried in old oil. We had to ask twice for napkins and utensils. The waitress was annoyed that she had to get them. She was making drinks for the entire restaurant and the ppl at the bar What really bothered me was no one helped her. Other employees came into ring orders, never helped her clear the bar. Dirty dishes and cups stacked up everywhere. Not sure what the managers were doing except hanging out near the door with the hostess. Shane came in for his shift and helped her clean. Also, bathroom was messy. Dirty. Paper on the floor, gross sinks. You may not have the right amount of staff but teach everyone to pitch it. P.s pay kendall more money. Fairly impressed with their mother's day brunch buffet! $29.99 per person is pricey but everything was delicious. Today I decided to eat at their lunch buffet and I had no issues with the stuff I tried. Most of it was all great quality, tasted great, no lacking in flavor, excellent! Only issue was most of the bacon turned to bits but what can you do when it's really crispy and well cooked bacon that lots of people messed around with searching for the right piece. I ended up with bits and one good piece but it still tasted great and was not greasy or anything. But for the most part, breakfast was outstanding. Eggs were cooked nicely, bacon was crispy, waffles had good shape and texture, home fries were amazing. They had the crispy kind of home fries and not the soft ones that most diners would serve you. (I hate those ones.) Prime Rib was excellent each time I grabbed it. Juicy, well seasoned, tender, each piece was cooked perfectly and no issue with dry, well done cuts. Of course with the anjus it was even better. The rice I had went perfectly with it as well. I've had one bad experience here last year which is still in the back of my head during their dinner service thus the 4 stars as service was good, no issue with service. Anyways last time I came for dinner my fried chicken sandwich was not as good as one anyone can make at home. It was dry, underseasoned and just not good. I'll comeback for their dinner service again one day as I was pleasantly surprised by their great brunch buffet! For $29.99 you get a solid amount of options, I remember seeing stuffed shells and some other things that looked great but for $29.99 I had to get my money back and stick with the amazing Prime Rib for lunch of course. Anyways, the brunch buffet is great! The only other brunch buffet I know of in this area is Dakota down in Rocky Hill which had less options than this one here. Pricing was similar but each buffet had their pros and cons, but Maggie McFly's was better though the price is higher. I actually had no idea they even had a brunch buffet upon walking in, no idea if it would be good either, pleasantly surprised indeed. read more

So I've now been to both locations in Manchester and Glastonbury. Neither site disappoints. Granted, they serve some creative bar food and drinks but there isn't anything spectacular to write home about. However, the consistency is what will make me go back. I haven't had a poor experience, the food is always good, the drinks are satisfying, and the service is good. I don't have anything bad to say about Ms. Maggie. I'm just not impressed or super enthusiastic about her. I wouldn't go out of my way for her, but if we're looking for a cool spot that won't disappoint and Ms. Maggie will be higher on the list than many places. read more

Awful! Worst service experience I've encountered in a long time...staff seemed very put out that we were even here. Brussel sprouts were inedible and when our waitress took our full plate, she didn't even ask if there was a problem. Then French onion soup was brought with no cheese (we had asked for no cheese on our sandwich, so sort of explainable) but when mentioned to our server, rather than just correcting, she felt the need to lecture us on why she made her decision. I ordered lunch Greek salad and was brought dinner size ($9 more) - when I asked our server about it, she said the Greek salad was not on the lunch menu - which I double checked, and it is. Server never came by to check on us or even refill drinks until we flagged her down. Menu is too big so it's hard to choose what you want for food. Kids menu is perfect. Hosting staff seemed very stressed, our waitress was awesome and attentive. Pasta was huge, and my husbands seafood dish was huge and they were able to accommodate his diary allergy. Only reason for 3 stars is there was too many choices. Update: still only 3 stars because I find the menu too big, but I understand why it's so big - and the owner responded to my review which was nice. If I could give 0 stars, I would. The food and the service were terrible. The "fresh turkey" was smoked processed turkey breast and the salmon ($24.00) was tiny and burned to a crisp. The corn medley side reminded me of high school cafeteria fare. Our waitress was non existent and appeared once after dropping our meals and disappearing. Added to this disaster of a meal was a little kid in a nearby booth who threw a temper tantrum and shrieked during our entire meal. I complained about it when we sat down yet it continued at full volume as we exited the place. There were 5 of us and the meal was about $130.00 with no alcohol. I dined here on a Tuesday evening with a group of four. The location was fantastic because it's directly across the street from two large hotels, where we stayed. Due to the pandemic, the inside was empty but the outside seating areas were busy. If you can't find anything to eat at this restaurant, you're not hungry. Almost every nationality of food is offered. There must be close to 200 hundred items on the menu, if not more. There was a long outdoor gas fireplace for those cool evenings. We began our meal with the honey BBQ chicken wings and two French onion soups. The wings were a big hit. Temperature hot and tasty. I was told the French onion soups were good as well. I had the Classic burger with Cheddar Cheese which came with French fries. The rest of the table ordered the Teriyaki Bowl, Ahi Tuna Sandwich, and the Garbage burger, which was the actual name. The burgers were fantastic. Big and juicy, cooked to order, and the roll held up well. The fries were seasoned nicely and the portion size was more than acceptable. I was told the Teriyaki Bowl and the Ahi Tuna Sandwich were good and I witnessed how huge the Teriyaki Bowl portion was. The service was good and friendly and the prices were very reasonable. There was a big parking lot so no worries with that. I've seen their signs on the major highways and always wondered about this restaurant. read more

This is definitely one of my favorite places to go out in Glastonbury. They have an amazingly large and tasty menu for both food and drink. They also have a lot of seating, including some fun spots outside, which overlook Glastonbury Blvd. The lobster taco and steak salad were both really delectable, and they did not skimp on the size. And, hec, the garlic breadsticks that come to each table were also quite yummy. I'm looking forward to more fun and tasty times here. read more
