Hands down, the worst food and worst service I've endured in many years. After ordering drinks, it took 30 minutes to bring them. After ordering main dishes, it took 50 minutes to bring out the meals. And, no, it wasn't busy there. They didn't have the ingredients for one of the drinks, so rather than ask what my guest wanted, instead, the server just brought something else that was not even comparable. When my dinner was brought, both the entree and the side were cold. The server brought back the entree, but ignored the side dish. When the main dish was brought back, the meat was now rock hard and already cooked back down. When the side (French fries) was finally taken and brought back allegedly fresh out of the fryer, they were already cool. None of the accompanying sauces were provided with their respective dishes. Another person's side dish was incorrect. And then in case this wasn't enough to spoil the evening, the taste of the food was bland. Add that the space design amplifies room sounds into a blurred cacophony that makes it difficult to have a conversation with the person sitting next to you, and you can see why I won't be returning to this poor excuse for a restaurant. read more

Logically some things will be better tasting than otters. My wife had the jambalaya she said it was very flavorful and spice as well as great portions. Mom and I arrived on Saturday at 11AM when they open. We were promptly seated and ordered the deviled eggs which were good. In the meantime I went to the restroom and our waitress walked into a stall. There was no flushing so she may have been doing a clothing adjustment but then she walked out and never washed her hands. Uh, I don't care what you do in the stall, once you touch the stall door/knob to leave you are contaminated and should wash you hands. This review is written with mixed feelings. We went for happy hour and dinner. Our apps were French onion soup and steamed edamame - both were very good. For dinner we had a Philly cheese steak with fries and the Baja Chicken tacos in Bibb lettuce - again both were very good. Our disappointment came with the bill which was not adjusted to account for happy hour prices. We happened to look at the bill and found the error, pointed it out to a bartender who immediately corrected the error. In addition, we pointed out the error to a manger. I went here late on a Tuesday evening around 9pm because I know they close late. The restaurant was fairly quiet. Maybe a dozen folks at the bar and seven or eight small parties scattered throughout. The acoustics were good in this place because it didn't sound like the place had that many people there. I could have my conversation and not hear anyone else's. Or a cacophony of constant sound like at Cheescake factory. The place was well-lit. I hate when restaurants are so dark, you can barely read the menu--not this place. Lighting was perfectly comfortable. The menu is the size of a phone-book, but most of it are ads for companies they partner with. And, I know we were late eaters, but there were also enough menu items unavailable, that we had to change our order twice. Keep in mind, they'd be taking orders for another 3.5 hours. We had the dim sum appetizer as well as the chicken wings appetizer. Wings were perfect. The ribs on the dim sum platter were perfect. The dumplings and potstickers were bland. The egg-roll, lackluster. I ordered chilli. It was ok--disappointed that there were no beans (or flavor). My husband had the garbage burger. He enjoyed it. I originally picked this place because I heard the desserts were good. They were good, but nothing to write home about. Will I go back? Yes, for the wings, the ambiance, and the late night schedule. Went to Maggie McFly's today (a Saturday) at 2pm with my family to see if my second attempt at eating here was better than the first, which I had only given two stars for lack of service. Today, we were seated within the bar area in about 5 minutes. Our server, Scott, was very attentive, friendly and helpful - I would definitely recommend requesting his area again. I ordered the charcuterie plate as a starter, but unfortunately it was unavailable. The Allagash White was also unavailable at first, but after sipping down a Stella Artois, served in a pint glass, a new keg of Allagash was tapped and ready to go. The bread sticks that were served in little pails were decent, though a bit dry. Not having any type of sauce to dip them in made them palatable though not memorable. The family each ordered burgers while I ordered the Longhini Sausage Cavatelli pasta. The veggie burger, the kid's cheeseburger and the Farm to Table Burger were all cooked to a perfect medium well yet my pasta dish, while very good, had a bit too much EVOO for my taste. A nice white sauce and less olive oil would have made this one so much more remarkable. All said and done, the food came out about an hour after we sat down and was filling. As the restaurant was only about 1/2 full, I would have hoped for a faster turnaround, but we'll attempt to give it a 3rd try. Attached to the Buckland Hills Mall, Maggie McFly offers American bites at a decent price. The restaraunt feels spacious and well-lit. The menu feels a bit cluttered. The lefthand pages are usually dedicated to one of their ingredient sources, which was a nice touch and accompanied by menu notes about where some of their ingredients are from. However, there are several pages at the front of each menu dedicated to wines. I feel that a separate wine booklet would be a better presentation and cut down the thickness of the menu. On the beer side, they have an impressive list of craft beers, but for better or worse, the craft menu is skewed towards ales. They have a minimal selection of local, craft beers in any other category. On the cocktail side, I have a major peeve with menus that list 'martinis' but use vodka instead of gin. A vodkatini is its own drink, and a menu category for 'martinis' should have at least a few true martinis. I didnt see any gin+vermouth martinis on Maggie McFlys list. Food: We had the garbage burger and the mediterranean lamb gyro, both with sweet potato fries. The garbage burger was ordered medium rare and served true to order. The burger was juicy, delicious, and the toppings were well-executed. The sweet potato fries were pretty standard, but perhaps a bit under-seasoned. The gyro was decent, but not very memorable. I would say the lamb meat was tougher than average. Overall, the service was great and attentive, but the restaraunt was not very busy when we went. My family went on a 'staycation' in Manchester, and chose this gem to eat at. Seeing that it was a Saturday night, I figured I'd call ahead and see if they took reservations or if I could put my name in. They told me I could put my name on a list and I would have 1/2 the wait time as a walk in, to be there for 630. I arrived at 630 and they told me the wait was 40 mins, but 20 for me since I was on the list. They said they'd text me when a table was ready. So while we waited we walked around the mall and in 20 mins they text me a table was ready. They escorted me to the outdoor seating area which was absolutely perfect on this 75 degree day. I knew immediately that I had to have one of their martinis with a glow in the dark ice cube! The one I ordered was called Barbie's dream house. It was delicious! We got fried Mac n chz as an appetizer and we all loved it. Between all of us, we had the salmon, crispy chicken fingers, French onion soup and clam chowder and everything was so yummy! Every time I give this place another try it just gets worse. I came here for dinner with my daughters at 6:20. We ordered 2 appetizers (nachos and Brussel sprouts) and 3 meals, one salad and 2 burgers. We sat and waited, appetizers came out about 20 minutes after that, but we sent the Brussel sprouts back. Then we waited again at 7:30 after watching 2 other tables get their food after they came in and ordered after us, I was ready to cancel our food and leave. At 7:35 the waiter comes back with food in hand and I immediately request a manager. I talk to the manager in which he saying we put in the orders stagnant so that's why the food came out that way, I corrected him letting him know we ordered everything at the same time. He took the appetizers off our bill as the server didn't even remove the Brussel sprouts we sent back and gave us our bread to go. The complimentary bread that we requested when we arrived but never received. I was beyond annoyed. I won't be back. This place is just horrible with service to certain people. read more

New Year's Day, called ahead for seating 40 minutes in advance figuring it was ample time. Arrived and was told we were the next one's to receive a booth in the area we asked for. Was confirmed on their mobile text site as well. After waiting 25 minutes, a couple walked in and were given 'our' booth. I ate here twice on a recent trip to CT because it was right by my hotel. Both times I just sat at the bar and received prompt, good service. I do feel like this place is trying to do too much with their menu, though - while the tuna melt I had the first time I ate here was delicious, and the sweet potato fries were also good, the chicken alfredo was I had the second time was barely passable. The sauce was extremely watery and I would not suggest ever ordering this. My friend who was with me had the French dip sandwich and enjoyed that, so my guess is that if you stick with their sandwiches you'll like what you get, but I certainly wouldn't bother with their pasta dishes. And considering how big their menu is, I have a feeling that it's in need of a paring down to get rid of items they don't (or probably don't) do well. read more

I will NEVER get food from here again. I paid $20 for a hangar steak (see picture) that was supposed to come with garlic mashed potatoes and spinich. It didnt, but I did get tasteless mac and cheese for another $5. The steak was tough and also lacking flavor. Place is awesome! Decor and ambiance is great, upscale sports bar vibe with some super comfy round booths around the perimeter of the large full service bar. The menu is insanely huge and diverse. I have had pasta, burgers, salads, sandwiches and chicken entrees and enjoyed them all. My favorites are the Cajun pasta with chicken and cheese tortellini in a spicy Alfredo sauce and the chicken piccata entree with a phenomenal lemon cream sauce. The Pilgrim sandwich is great too, combining Thanksgiving favorites into a tasty unique sandwich. Always get the truffle fries on the side with my sandwiches, they are amazing! Food can take awhile to come out but is always made fresh piping hot with very high quality ingredients. Servers are very attentive and professional and will usually offer some breadsticks if your meal is taking awhile to come out. I've yet to finish a meal here with room for dessert but the dessert menu is extremely enticing and the bakery case by the entrance is always stocked with a variety of locally made treats. read more

My wife and I have eaten here at least a dozen times. Generally we have liked the food, but the service at times is spoty. I have Celiac and like the fact that they offer a number gluten free options. In particular their GF bun is excellent. BUT that is where the praise stops! Recently they have started to "run out" of the GF buns. This has happened three times over the past 6 months. It happened again this week. When I brought this up to the bartender (we usually try to sit at the bar), he responded it happens because they are popular. I then said if they were popular why didn't they order more? He there nothing he could do about it and did I want just my drink, continue to complain, or did I plan to order food. He seemed put out when I asked to see a menu. I ordered the GF pizza. Not a good choice. It was doughy and tasteless. I asked the bartender if he could ask the manager to stop by. He said he would, but we never saw the manager. My wife was enjoying the Thai lettuce wrap so I decided to order another drink while she finished her meal. It took me 10 minutes to get the bartender's attention. When I finally got the drink she was almost finished. All and all not an enjoyable evening for me. We will probably go back because my wife likes the place. Been coming here for years, and this past experience was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had, definitely will not be returning after this. My buddy and I come in, looks fairly quiet but steady, its 7:30pm and we get sat after about 5 mins. We look over our menus and it took about 15-20 minutes to be greeted, we were about to leave but our waiter came up to us with a positive and friendly attitude and apologized for the wait. However, there was waitresses and waiters walking past us constantly and we figured they were understandably understaffed, no biggie. So we put our drink order, app and food order in all in one swoop so its easier for him. After about 10 minutes, somebody completely different brought us our waters, no big deal that didn't seem strange at all. Then, 15 minutes later, somebody completely different brought us our appetizers, a little weird but no big deal, then, after 15-20 minutes from the apps, our meals come our and somebody completely different brings them out. By that time my friend and I shrugged it off and started eating. We went through those waters we got 45 minutes ago fairly quickly, but our waiter never, not once, came over to us to check up on us. So, after 15 minutes of waiting, I politely ask for refills on our waters as our waiter was walking to another table for something, he agrees and we wait 10 minutes for our waters, so when he brings us our waters I kindly ask for our check when he has a chance. He put the check on the table before putting ONE water on the table and never asked us how everything was, if we wanted dessert, he just placed the check, the water, in that specific order, and walked off without saying anything. Now, I work in a restaurant, I completely understand if somebody is having a hard night or is overworked, but that was completely, COMPLETELY, unacceptable. Im not here to expose any worker, but that was our last straw. The fact that he had the check, in hand, and never checked up on us once throughout the entire night of us being there, was very disrespectful and we felt extremely unwanted there. He still never asked us how our food was by the time we paid. All we got was 2 waters, 2 apps and 2 easy meals, but it was like we were the biggest burden of the restaurant. We event had to ask somebody from the front for boxes and a bag because our waiter never came back to offer anything to else. So, from 7:30, with only a table of 2, we ended up leaving at 10:30!!!! We were mostly waiting for our food the entire time, and like I previously mentioned, we were so respectful, so kind, because we're all human and completely understand being understaffed and having a rough day, but having to be there for 3 hours when it should've been a 45min-1 hour experience was disgusting. We literally ate, and left, didn't stick around to chat, didn't waste anybodies time, we just wanted a quick meal after a long day and to leave. The food was great, but the service is a great reason to not return for a long while. Ive never had such a strange, and stressful experience, at ANY restaurant before, let alone somewhere where I go quite often. I am very disappointed, I highly encourage everybody to be kind and respectful during these hard times, you never know what somebody is going through behind closed doors, but for 4 different people to serve us and we were never checked up on once throughout the entire night was sad.
