Took a group of 8 at tithe nearest Maggie McFly's (the other is in Glastonbury) and it certainly didn't disappoint. One glance at a menu (or rather, several glances - they serve just about anything you can think of) and you may start to wonder if you made the right decision. After all, how can a restaurant that serves American, Italian, Asian, and Barbecue get it all right? Probably with a lot of practice, but I haven't been disappointed yet. My favorite to get here is the tuna poke bowl. There may be better places to get it, but I keep going for it here! Lots of delicious tuna with all the fixings! I've also gotten the BBQ brisket and pork baby back ribs (both dishes served with to-die for smoked bacon mac and cheese!) and the portions was just out of this world. I have the say that I expected a little more from their paella - it was a little soupier than I expected, but maybe I'm just new to the game (someone correct me on this). The flavors have been top notch, and the portions are appropriate for the price range. For any drinkers out there, this seems like a good place to try. Hit and miss. Today was a miss. It happens, but with increasing regularity. This place should be 5 stars each and every time. They have everything right on paper, but they fail so often in the simple things. Waiting at the hostess station for 10 minutes to be acknowledged, let alone seated, is a common occurrence. And if you're getting take-out, open everything and check it to make sure it's right before you leave. Because something will be wrong. My wife and I went back on Dec. 27, 2025. The meal itself was fine but when it came time to pay the bill, I used a Vanilla Visa gift card. When the waitress came back with the processed bill it showed that a 20% tip was already charged to the card. I was probably going to give it anyway but I inquired why they did that. The waitress gave me some vague excuse. I spoke to the manager and she could less about my concerns. Not happy, I contacted their executive offices the following day. The UnHappy Hour Don't bother having a Happy Hour if you are not going to try. I tried the $7 Calamari, and the Buffalo Chicken bites. I received 14 rings on a couple of pieces of lettuce. It was just sad. They were on the dry side and only had an (oddly) spiced marina sauce to accompany them. The chicken was not was mouse nor tasty as the giant bag of buffalo chicken at Sam's club. I have always loved going to Maggie's because they offer gluten free food. The last time I went the server who brought our food out was extremely rude when I asked if the food was gluten free because it did not have the normal gluten free pick on it. The server said well it's looks gluten free. I asked to speak with a manager and was told it was gluten free I became extremely sick and had to leave. That said, wait times can vary depending on your order, so don't always expect a quick meal. Maggie McFly's was the perfect spot for a group dinner after work with my fellow actuaries. We hailed from three different states and had different food preferences, which their menu was able to adequately accommodate for. We were blown away by the breadth of the menu and even more amazed when all the food we ate on the vast menu was extremely high quality. This place is amazing with an overwhelming menu in a very good way. There's something to eat for everyone and a broad spectrum of cuisines including burgers, Asian, Mexican, traditional American, Italian and so on. Lots of vegetarian options as well and as a plus they have halal options as well with their chicken. They disclose their suppliers right on their updated menus and their chicken supplier, Coleman Natural, are halal certified right on their website. In the mall running some errands and I needed some food, but I want something healthy... so I wandered in here. Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: I don't know if it's me or if there really is NO entrance to the restaurant from inside the mall. Oh well, I walked outside and around to the main entrance then inside. The restaurant is quite big! It's one giant room with the bar right in the middle with like 40 comfy red leather chairs surrounding it. That's quite a bit of seating for a bar rail. Of course there are regular tables and big booths that can support a group of almost any size. There are TVs all over the bar so it has a real sports pub feel. Service: Lauren at the bar took excellent care of me. She was funny, sweet and got me everything that I needed. Food: I opted for the Walnut Chicken Salad with 2 portions of blackened chicken. The salad is a concoction of organic baby greens, romaine lettuce, walnuts, apples, tomatoes, mangoes, feta cheese, pan-Asian glazed chicken and and a Zinfandel vinaigrette. It was excellent and something I would order repeatedly. It was filling, tasty, fresh and just good. I felt good eating it. Value: My salad is usually $15.99, but with my extra portion of chicken it brought me up to $19.99. That's not too bad for a salad this big and with its quality. I am a fan for sure. In conclusion this will always be a good option for food when I'm in or around the mall, especially with its gigantic menu and happy hour from 3:00pm to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. This place is the BEST for gluten free. They can make even fried foods like fried chicken and pickles GF. A real treat when gluten free basics can still sometimes be hard to find. My wife and I visited the Manchester Connecticut location around 4 PM this evening. We were seated quickly but had no one approach to greet us at our table take drink orders or even check to see if we needed time to make a selection, which we would not have had any issue with as we were seated for a full half hour during which we watched as three other groups came in, were seated, and placed orders after we had already been sitting with our menus closed. This is now the second time at this location that we have seemingly been seated and forgotten about. The previous time we were annoyed but gave the benefit of the doubt as it was later in the night, we were seated on the patio, and staff had changed shifts.  This time it was just before dinner and no such excuses could be made as we were seated within full view of one of the podiums in the building. At least to the locations credit the staff wished us a good day as we walked out of the store without being served to find food at another nearby establishment where we were promptly seated and served while writing this review. read more

Michael was ana amazing waiter/ bartender. He was very approachable, attentive and professional. The food was good. The coconut shrimp were slightly dark for my taste but were good. I visited Maggie McFly's on a snowy Monday evening. The restaurant wasn't busy as the community hunkered down to weather the storm. I sat at the bar and explored their menu. Since it was a little before 6 pm their happy hour menu was still available. I ordered the hamburger with bacon, egg, and cheese. The burger was perfectly cooked to order and the egg ran down the side of the meat when I took my first bite. Everything tasted great. One little suggestion is to cook the bacon a little more, but hey this was a great burger. read more

I am not sure I have ever seen a more elaborate menu in my life.... it felt like an encyclopedia when the waitress handed it to me. Unfortunately, the excitement about the plethora of options available was ruined by the fact that they were executed poorly. I was intrigued by the specials offered and ordered sauerbraten and was very disappointed. A dish that that is known for its tender meat and savory sauce was served leather tough and remarkably dry. First impressions ... 3.5 stars ... good service and great ambiance. Food ... still debating (depending on what you eat). LOL What a fancy bar-like establishment. Given the awesome bar seating smack dab in the middle of the place, it would make for a totally fun sports night. This restaurant is located in a plaza mall out in the burbs of South Windsor, CT. Seems to be super popular with the locals judging by the lines. I was especially excited to try this place given my fellow foodies suggested it. Thanks cous! Lines start forming at 4:30 from the looks of the packed dining room. We were here at 5:30 or close to 6PM. One cool tip: you can call ahead to be added to the wait list. Still have to check in but at least they allow that for larger groups and you save a spot so the wait is shorter. (BTW, we were a party of 9). The menu options are plenty, multi pages and the food listed by categories on every page. Highlights: butternut squash soup (kind of creamy and great for a brisk night) and every kid entree off the kids menu. The portions look like they're good for bigger kids too (they are practically full sized entrees). My kiddo ordered the pizza, she got a whole pie that looked like it could serve six people! And my other kiddo ordered the filet medallions with skin on red mash and green beans. Again, looked like an adult entree. All for under $7. Wow, what a deal. Other plates worth the mention: -The burgers (any) were piled high and juicy. -The baked salmon with pasta and spinach. Had a nice mushroom gravy like sauce on top. Savory for sure. -And the veal snitzel is a must try. Generous portion - great for sharing. Skip: the Ahi Poke Tortilla Appetizer. The chunks of tuna were generous in portion but the taste fell flat for me. The tortilla tasted oily. It had potential but needs tweaking. I've been to Maggie McFly's at least a dozen times and this is my first time giving it a review. In my opinion, it's a good place to go regardless of what you're hungry for. Although I do like Maggie McFly's, the menu is SO ridiculously lengthy (over 40 pages). It's impossible to read every item on it before the server comes to take your order. Other Yelp reviews say it's TOO big and I agree. Of course, not every page of the menu highlights food to order. The first few pages tells the history of the place, or the nutritional value of the food, or a page dedicated to just the logos of the beers they serve, and another with hard liquors (completely unnecessary on a menu, save this stuff for the website). Hey I get it, they're proud of using food and alcohol items from local businesses, but In my opinion, they can probably streamline the menu by eliminating at least 12 unnecessary pages. (I'm including 2 pictures of unnecessary pages in my opinion). Whew! I'm exhausted just from describing the menu! Now on to the main entrees... When we go to Maggie's, I always try order something different every time I'm there. This visit I ordered the "street tacos" (a combination of any three tacos listed). I had the pulled pork, the Baja Chicken and the Lobster Vera Cruz tacos with a side of yellow rice and Chick Pea Quinoa corn salad. All three tacos had decent flavors, but I think the pulled pork and the Lobster tacos had way too much cilantro. (IMO, cilantro should be used to highlight the flavors of the dish, NOT over power them). My wife had the Sizzling Chicken Fajita, a house specialty. This dish had great flavors and a touch of heat. It's one of her favorites, because she knows that she'll always bring home enough leftovers for another meal tomorrow. Sorry about the long rant about the oversized menu, but it had to be said. But this last time i brought my niece and her two children. I just had a desire for a nice Reuben sandwich. I ordered their pastrami Reuben and I have to say it was totally inedible. It was so fatty and so gristly I couldn't even bite into it. I sent it back to the kitchen. They still charged me for it and I wasn't ready to do battle, but I won't go back again to Maggie McFly's again. Decided to dine here this evening with my two sons. Let me preface my review by saying we have been to the Glastonbury restaurant many times and have loved it there so we naturally assumed this one would be just as good. I am so disappointed that this place was as horrible as it was. When we first got there and went to the podium to be seated, there were four people behind the podium and I t took them about 3 to 4 minutes just to figure out where to sit us. I instantly had a bad feeling about this place. Once we were seated, it took the waitress at least 10 minutes to even come and take our drink orders. Because we had waited so long we decided to order our food and drinks all at once to save some time. It took at least 10 more minutes after we placed our order just to get drinks and that was after I had to ask the waitress where our drinks were. Once we got our drinks, it took a least another 15 minutes or so to get our food - at this point we had been waiting 40 minutes. I had ordered plain nachos for my kids and I ordered pickle chips, edamame potstickers, and a pear and Brie salad for myself. One of my kids ordered a cheeseburger and fries and the other ordered pasta with butter and fries. Nothing too complicated. The nachos came out first along with my pear and Brie salad, pickle chips and a plate of edamame. As soon as the waitress came back I told her that I was given edamame as opposed to edamame potstickers. She quickly brought the edamame back to the kitchen and brought back the potstickers, which is what I ordered. The kids enjoyed their nachos. Honestly it's pretty hard to screw up nachos so I'm glad that they were able to eat it. My pear and Brie salad was just OK. I wish they took the skin off the brie as it was really gross to have to eat the brie with skin on still. Other than the fact that the brie was cut in huge chunks and still had skin on it, the salad was OK. The pickle chips on the other hand were very gross - the chips were super super thin and very greasy - they were inedible. I love pickle chips - I get them from numerous places and I think it's one of those foods that is probably hard to mess up also. But they managed to do it. The edamame potstickers were fine . When they brought my son's cheeseburger out, it was missing the cheese and my son said that his burger was a hockey puck. In fact he picked it up and tapped it on his plate and it literally sounded like a hockey puck. We asked the waitress for a slice of cheese since they missed it and we didn't want to send a burger back for fear of having to wait another 20 minutes for a burger. She came out with two slices of cold sliced cheese and my son put it on his burger and had to slab it with catchup just to make it somewhat edible. My other son's pasta was disgusting. It was a rubbery and had no flavor to it whatsoever - we had to season it up with salt just to make it worth eating. He was so hungry at this point he was willing to eat it but it made him sick afterward. I can understand if the restaurant was super busy and say a Friday or Saturday night and the kitchen was being worked hard. But, it was a Sunday evening at 7:30 PM and the place was only half full. There really was no excuse for this service and poor food. I asked the waitress to complain to the manager because I felt like they needed to rectify the situation in someway. The waitress told me that there's nothing the manager would do - they would not comp me for the poor pickle chips or even the fact that my son can barely eat his cheeseburger or any of the issues we had with our service that day. All we were offered was a coupon for the next time we visited this restaurant. I told her that I would most likely never return to this restaurant again - at least not the one in Manchester. My recommendations for the management staff at this establishment: 1. Properly staff the kitchen so that your chefs know exactly what they are doing. 2. Properly manage dissatisfied customers. Remember that word-of-mouth goes along way and to have someone as this dissatisfied as I was is probably not good. I rarely write a bad review - and I've been to horrible places - but this was a huge disappointment because I've been to Maggie's in Glastonbury and was so good there that expectations were high for this one. Summary: there's so many good places to eat in Manchester skip the flashiness of this one and go somewhere else. But if you really want Maggie's type food then go to the one in Glastonbury which isn't that far away. read more
