We had such a fun time! I haven't been here since I was a girl, but it was still magical watching the small kids get excited chasing the characters for their "autograph." Though the boys with us were teenagers, they secretly enjoyed the autograph books. Our waiter was Spider-Man & he was fantastic. The cherry on top was the caricature artist. We LOVE our picture. We ordered steak, lobster, & ribs. Every bit was delicious!!! We toured the restaurant after we ate. Each table is a theme, so it's a challenge to go back as many times as possible to sit at a different table. My only critique is that I wish the salad bar had more toppings. You go to Magic Time Machine for the experience, not necessarily the food/drinks. Each booth has a different theme and we were seated at the library. After ordering food, you make your way to the salad bar which sits atop a car. Be careful as there were lots of bugs in the shredded carrots. Then, a balloon artist and a photographer comes around. The balloon artist is one of the best we've ever seen. Check out the photographs closely as it's magical. Our server was the Fairy Godmother and she stayed in character the whole time. We came in with a party of 11 for a 21st birthday dinner on a Friday night. Our wait was pretty short, and we were sat in the "Library". Our server was Raven (Teen titans) and she was FANTASTIC! She made our night so much fun! The service she provided was on point, we couldn't have asked for better. The food all came out hot and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Decided to come here for my friend's daughter birthday. And man, I hope she enjoyed herself as much as we did!! Well I know her and her cousins did. Our wait wasn't extremely long, because I made a reservation on yelp. We waited at max 30-40 mins, and it was during peak hours. THE ACE VENTURA!!!! All the characters were loving and played their parts well, but Ace took it to a completely different level. The kids in my group enjoyed Tinkerbell also. I'm going to separate my review into two parts: food and experience. For food, this place is not the best. Its subpar and a little overpriced. It is though definitely accommodating for children. Just be warned we are almost completely positive that the superhero pasta was the spinach artichoke dip on pasta. I had the burger and it was pretty good. A pretty normal burger. I would rate the food as a 3. For service, i dont think we could've had a better time. We had an amazing server (Thor). The immersion to the character was perfect. We tried to stump him once or twice to no avail. Being adults we got a number of adult jokes to keep the Entertainment up. That being said, you can go without children and have a great time. My photo that I posted in this review may not seem all that helpful, but if you can tell how much my daughter is enjoying the place based on here smile, that's good enough for me. We freakin' LOVE this place. It looks like an early 80s time machine inside, and even smells like it too! To be honest, the food CAN be hit or miss (though often is very good). I've actually enjoyed some amazing steaks there in the past (and I'm a steak snob). Salad bar is always good and fresh. But come on! Who comes here just for the food? The atmosphere, decor, wait staff, energy... it's all 10 star. I've eaten here a LOT over the last few decades, and I can never recall a server that wasn't in character and totally getting in to it. We went for a birthday dinner and will go back. Just manage your expectations. They haven't touched this interior since my last 15 years ago. The dated and weathered decor gives off a dirty vibe, although, the table and dishes were clean. Some costumes are better than others. I didn't enjoy the attitude of some the waitstaff/characters. Think Dick's Last Resort vibe. I can appreciate snarky but it was lost on the kids, left my littlest people confused & started to tick off one of the parents. Spiderman was a Standout! He was fun, very playful and posed for endless pics. Our waitress from Brave (Merida) was fun too! Her accent was on point and she was a great sever. A balloon artist visited the table and we had a caricature portrait done. The car salad bar was no longer post covid, steaks were ok, the Roman Orgy didn't disappoint but definitely made for unusual conversation with the older kids. I give this place four stars out of five because the restaurant in and of itself needs some improvements... there were several interior elements that were in desperate need of repair and a deep clean. Also, the wait was unexpectedly long. We were told a 30 to 45 minute wait when walking in an hour after opening (the place opens at 4:00pm) and we ended up waiting closer to 60 minutes. (After being seated, I wonder if this is due largely to the fact that the wait staff are responsible for cleaning the tables. Not exactly an issue per se... I worked as a waitress myself at a sports tavern and I was responsible for cleaning my tables. But the place I worked was much slower in terms of foot traffic. There were three tables within our view that sat there at least 10 to 15 minutes with finished plates and empty seats. That's 10 to 15 minutes extra that patrons will have to wait. I feel as if this restaurant needs dedicated bussers. The wait staff cannot be expected to work fast and efficiently if they are expected to take on extra work that lies outside of their main priorities... just a thought.) We spent the majority of our time in the arcade upstairs. This restaurant caters to a much younger crowd, so the room was incredibly loud and chaotic. If we come back, we would definitely prefer to wait in the car. However, this place was SO fun and interesting. The staff was unlike anything I've ever come across before. It was as if the owner hired a bunch of theater kids and put them in a servers apron. We were waited on by a lovely gentleman dressed as spider man. (Other characters we saw were Wario, Luigi, Professor Snape, Spider Gwen, Cinderellas Fairy God Mother, Wednesday Adams, and KISS) It was such a joy watching the other wait staff joke around with their tables. Clearly there is a lot of creative freedom when it comes to how the waiter/waitress chooses to interact with their tables as their chosen character. Spider-man played a game with us as we were packing up our food to leave for the night. Not only was the wait staff incredible, the design aspect of the restaurant is nothing short of extraordinary. Everywhere you look has something new or different to see. There is NOTHING consistent design or theme-wise about this place, and I mean that in the best way. Anyone of any age can find enjoyment. I would love to come back dressed up as a character myself someday. Finally... the food was good. You can tell that it was prepared with fresh ingredients. The burgers were especially tasty... thick juicy patties and fresh toppings made it phenomenal. Some dishes were pretty expensive, such as the steaks. Others were priced fairly, such as the burgers and the pasta dishes. As good as the food was, I get the impression that most don't go there for the food. They go for the show. This place needs help, from the start they push how short staffed they are and advertised that they are hiring. So be prepared for a wait, we didn't mind the wait since they had a man painting pictures of people like at a fair! The upstairs lounge was closed so we didn't have a place to sit but the stairs. Our server worked so incredibly hard the whole evening and kept in character the whole time! The food was so yummy. The place overall just needs a facelift, and the balloon guy needs a partner to help him out! Unfortunately we waited over and hour for our to go food once we finished eating and wanted to leave right when our meal was done. We mentioned it when we first sat down and then by the time it came out it was missing food and we had to get it fixed which took longer. Will we come back? Yes.
