I came to the post office to send off a package. The package was a perfume and was a return. The…read moreitem was in its original packaging along with the return label and since it was a perfume, a hazard signage on it. The woman who was an older brunette with glasses was refusing to scan it in. I asked why and she kept saying the return label and the hazard signage had to be together. She kept pointing to a sign to supposedly "show" me the way it was supposed to look but all she was pointing to was a sign saying the proper items needed to be on the package and legible. Which they all were! I told her that's how the label and signage was provided to me and it was together and she kept saying I needed a bigger box because the return label and signage needed to be side by side. I'm like it's in it's original packaging why would I get a bigger box? She refused to scan it in and made me drive to another post office where they confirmed everything was perfect and they scanned it in and took it just as it was. It's not my first time sending off one of these packages and I've never been given so many issues. She was extremely rude, unhelpful, and not knowledgeable. I even asked her to show me exactly how I would place the return label and signage and she just kept referring me to a not relevant sign on the wall.

With Amazon Fresh gone the parking has become much easier. Before, the main lot was always very packed. Venue 3.5 stars: Smaller location. It can get very busy when they first open up and in mid to late afternoon when the ecommerce guys show up with their many packages :). The service desk does not open until 10 AM which makes it a bit inconvenient. They also close at 3 PM on Saturdays which is also inconvenient, and they are completely closed on Sundays. There is however a self service machine in the lobby that can do most of what you need and you can drop your packages in secure drop boxes. They also have P.O. Boxes for rent. Service 5 stars: Friendly and helpful staff who remember you, greet you and have a nice chat with you. Most of the staff have been there for years. The Bottom Line 4 stars: A much better option for me than driving farther to larger post offices and standing in line longer. The nice staff are also much appreciated! I wish they opened early in the morning and closed later on Saturdays.

Even when busy, the employee(s) on duty will stop to greet me and when they see me with a package, they say that if it's good go to, they can scan it in for me. I love that even if they're working on something, they take a break to help me out. It speeds things along. And since I am the type of person who wants visual confirmation that things were properly handed off, I appreciate that they always stop to scan things & hand me a tracking number receipt right away. The address for this location is 15701 Sherman Way. Van Nuys, CA 91409. Your box number is your unit number. They are able to accept deliveries from UPS and other carriers that previously would not deliver to a PO Box. For the PO Box section, they have extended hours up until 8 PM Monday through Sunday. This is a lot more versatility than before. I had a choice of going with this location or the UPS store and I chose this location because it's closer to the business that I'm starting. Prices are comparable with USPS being just a little cheaper. I think I can easily recommend this location. Edit is still a post office with all the postal services. This location even offers passport services.
