Dropping a star due to the bad service. The worker seemed to not really enjoy being there, but they were patient with us when we were ordering. However, besides the service, Main Chick Hot Chicken is really incredible! The quality of the chicken is really amazing, it is so juicy and fresh. We tried the combo #1 - 1 chicken sandwich, 1 chicken tender, and fries. We got the chicken medium spicy and it was pretty spicy!! Also be warned, they put the seasoning on the fries as well, so it was a little overwhelming with all the medium seasoning on everything. The MC sauce and ranch were very good! Cons: They said they didn't have any water cups, even though they had soda cups which was odd. All sauces are pretty expensive and the ranch cup was not even filled half way! The Mac n cheese took 35 mins to come out. It came out after we finished our entire meal. It was delicious though. Mind you, I like "hot" but Momma didn't raise no fool, especially if I'm surfing after eating it and don't wanna be a feeding the fish lethal cayenne pepper farts, if ya know what I mean! Our Grubhhub order arrived early and everything was still piping hot and smelling amazing! OK, the Crinkle Cut Fries here are the bomb! They are very crispy, savory, and perfectly salty. The Chicken Sandwich is just as good as Crack Shack's, only about half the price! What I love about the Tenders is that they are very crunchy on the outside but STILL moist and juicy on the inside. This may be my first Yelp review ever. It's definitely been a long time and I felt compelled after seeing the 3.9 star rating for this place. What is wrong with people? A one star review because of a customer service issue? Customer service issues should be communicated directly to store managers so they have an opportunity to address it. Now that I got that off my chest, the food is fantastic! And for the price? Amazing! The chicken is not rubbery or chewy like most places these days. The batter is perfect. The slaw and pickles are a perfect match to the seasoning on the chicken. I am NOT a chicken sandwich person. I get "the chicken ick" most of the time. But this place??? Phenomenal. There was only a very tiny bit of coleslaw on the sandwich and it was very limp and vinegar only based (I personally prefer it with Mayo). I also got a grizzle piece and some floppy chicken skin which was not appetizing. We also ordered fries. It was a large size (easily split between several people), but again, excessive seasoning on the fries. It was probably at least 1/4 cup pure seasoning between the fries and sandwiches. It's small, cute...overall fine...but the two stars are a reflection of how much they seem to dislike their customers. For example, their reward program only allows you to earn points at $15 and they don't count tax. But the most popular combo is $14.99. So if you don't get a drink, you don't get any credit for any money you've spent. It's a little thing but it's just indicative of how much they seem to appreciate your business. Decided to check out this new place, because I have heard how good hot chicken is. They do have an indoor sitting area and a couple of tables outside. You walk up and order and then wait for your order to be made. Since I have never tried it before I decide just to try the plain chicken, as I didn't want anything too spicy for my child as well. She ordered the tenders and I got the chicken sandwich, which came with VERY seasoned fries. It took a good twenty minutes to get our order. So if you are in hurry this is not the place for you. My friends recently went and they waited for a good twenty-thirty minutes for their order. With that said the chicken was really good, moist, and flavorful. Found this place in Bressi Ranch last week and I'm pleased with this restaurant. The chicken has a great coating, crispy and well balanced. The seasoning is different from the usual fare at KFC or Popeye's, so it's a good change of pace from those. The menu is short and simple: chicken sandwiches and strips and the french fries are nicely seasoned. Although I love the fries, I would love it if this place offered sides in the place of french fries, without having to buy it extra. The dining room has an industrial vibe and was clean during my visits. It's nice to have an alternative chicken joint in the hood as well. read more

I ordered the mild and after one of the generous size tenders I had to call it a day and take it home for later. I have to say, I am obsessed with the dark meat sandwich from this restaurant, however, I experienced some seriously bad customer service that I think everyone should hear about because it involves food tampering. I may not be able to buy from this location ever again. I ordered a dark meat sandwich, naked, because I can't do spicey at all. This is my go-to, I have ordered this sandwich at least 5 times since they opened, between my orders and my husband's orders. They have only been open a few weeks. Unfortunately, when the order was picked up (by a co-worker) the box was not labeled at all and inside was a spicey sandwich instead of a "naked" sandwich. That's ok, mistakes happen, I get it. I called the restaurant, but they did not answer the phone. It was lunch rush, I understand that too. So, I drove back to the restaurant, waited in line with my receipt in hand, and after waiting several minutes for my turn, explained to the young woman at the register what had happened. She looked at my receipts and said "No this was for a naked sandwich." I said, "That is correct, but that is not what was inside the box." She looked confused but turned to a much older gentleman in the kitchen, who was obviously the owner, and said something I could not hear, but I can fully see them 4 feet away, head to toe. He looked over her shoulder, rolled his eyes, and nodded. She returned and said "we're going to make you another one." I thanked her and stepped aside to wait. After all these sandwiched are big juicy culinary delights, so worth the wait! I watched patiently as the owner made 6 other orders. it was very busy. For each order, a man stepped into view with an Asian style fry basket with a succulent chicken serving that was added to each sandwich. Then I saw the owner reach up to a shelf in front of him and grab a single chicken serving, he placed it on two buns he retrieved from the same shelf, added the usual toppings, put it in a small box, and handed to the young woman, who gestured for me to come and take it from her. I told her "please don't be offended if I check it", and I opened the sandwich box, peeked in, and saw that it was not red, which indicates it is not spicey. When I got back to my office and pick up the sandwich to eat, the first thing I noticed was that the bottom bun was hard. I looked and it was burned, but I thought, "so what? a little char never hurt anyone.", then I took a bite. I couldn't bite through the sandwich. I removed the bottom bun and discovered it could double as a hammer, as it was hard enough to drive a nail through a wooden plank. I discarded the bottom bun and tried to eat the sandwich upside down open face only to be disappointed that the chicken was a cold dried-out piece of leather. Disgusting and inedible. The owner actually gave me inedible rejected food out of spite! Had I returned that, would he have spit on the replacement? So disgusted at this treatment. I after all didn't do anything wrong. I ordered correctly, it was on the receipt. I wasn't rude or angry when I had to drive to the restaurant and wait to get a replacement. I really love these sandwiches, but I think I am going to have to go to another location, where the staff isn't so angry and spiteful if someone simply wants to receive what they ordered and paid for. By the way, this sort of food tampering is illegal. I have attached a photo of what the sandwich usually looks like and the sad little hockey puck I was served up as a punishment for wanting to actually have the lunch that I ordered. My wife and I have enjoyed meals from here several times, and HAVE to give it a massive thumbs up - they are hitting on virtually every cylinder (sans one). Let me start with the tenders - these are NOT tenders, these are massive hunks of white meat seasoned to perfection (choice of four....but really, one. I mean, spicy is actually (gasp!) spicy! Who cares about the other three?). I ordered the "three tenders with fries", thinking it'd make for a nice meal.....no, it made for a nice two meals - that much meat and fries. Speaking of which - these are damned good fries. Main Chick actually uses salt on their fries - something American food joints have shied away from. And they are cooked to perfection. And in the meals, there are MORE than enough, again, for two meals. The cole slaw, while a bit runny for my tastes, is nonetheless VERY good - one container feeds two people perfectly. AND they use Uber Eats, which means it's REALLY easy to enjoy these meals (maybe a bit too much). So the one ding (and yeah, it's worth the loss of a star) is the tenders are definitely overcooked. And not by a little. While it definitely doesn't take away from the meal (or the spice!) it does make them slightly drier. So go (or don't go, order). You definitely won't regret it if you like chicken sandwiches or tenders....simply awesome. read more

So happy to see another Main Chick location in SD! Came in around 2pm-ish on a Saturday after a day of shopping at the outlet stores, and there was no wait. I have been to the other locations and can't wait to check this one out! I always order the combo #5 because the leg quarters are my favorite! So juicy and flavorful. They're spices pack a punch but it's worth it! My kids order the chix tenders and it's very juicy/tender as well. Very laid back environment and the lighting sign is super aesthetically cute, making the space intimate and welcoming at the same time. Service is on point. Saw the line out the door several days ago and thought I had to give this a go. After reading the reviews I was pretty mentally ready to either love this place or not. The medium was SOOOO hot, so the chicken sporting the respirator is no joke. The fries which get a lot of flack for the saltiness......I didn't find them over the top. You get TOO MANY so splitting an order is smart. Back to the chicken....I had to think how to describe it.....remember the JIm Carrey character Fire Marshall Bill? Yeah, it's like that. Cartoonishly hot!!! Makes you wince....and the flavor to make it worth it isn't really there as the payoff. I LOVE hot food. Real Thai made all the way to "Thai Hot" sets a pretty good standard for make you cry but there's taste to tell you why you ran into that fire. This just didn't work that way for me. I can only imagine that their hot is like a fraternity hazy thing. See if you can choke it down and have everyone laugh at how much you sweat.
