Husband had Ribs&Catfish, daughter had catfish, and son had the two meat Po'Boy with pulled pork & smoked turkey. It was all outstanding. Service was attentive, friendly, and patient. Hubs had traditional BBQ which he really enjoyed - he got mashed potatoes as a side which were OK but he raved about the brisket, chicken and beans. My son got a fried chicken sandwich, it was also outstanding. Well fried and seasoned with crispy bacon. He got fried okra as a side and they were tasty, fresh and hot. I rarely leave Yelp reviews but I felt as if my expertise was needed here. These other reviews talk way too highly of this establishment. Maybe it's because it's in Oklahoma and not Texas, the expectations are different here. Longest job I've ever held was in a bbq establishment. This establishment is mid af. Waiter didn't know the difference between the two defined cuts of brisket, asked for moist got lean. With that being said, the lean was decent-good as far as lean goes. I also ordered jalapeño cheddar sausage, which tasted oven baked, fried okra and pinto beans. The fried okra was damn near flawless, I can respect a good crunchy okra. But the pinto beans tasted straight out of a ranch style beans can. All around just a "decent" meal for an establishment which has gotten so much praise on this app. Strange side note, for some reason my beer mug smelled identical to Copenhagen mint. I know that smell when I smell it. I would give this place 3 stars if bbq wasn't held to a higher standard, wouldn't come back but I didn't leave hungry. read more

Nuggets were dry and the fried pickles should advertise on menu as spears. They were the most disappointing thing I ever seen in my life. I really wanted to like this place. I read the reviews and drove about 10 miles out of my way. It was just okay. I had chopped beef, mash potatoes, corn on the cob and tea for$20.35. We got two 1/2 pound meat plates with ham, hot links, smoked sausage & sliced beef. The ham & beef was dry, but was very tasty. Please keep in mind that dry is not a bad thing as when one smokes meat for a restaurant they have to smoke the meat several hours before hand so that it's ready to serve when the doors are open. We also got the fried green beans and WOW they were good. All in all a great lil place for a lil snack. read more

Stopped by on a road trip through Oklahoma. A few miles off the freeway but well worth it. The brisket was good, the pulled pork nice and Smokey and the sausage was full of flavor. The corn fritters were nice and the loaded beef baked potato was truly loaded. One of our party got a couple flavors of sausage and enjoyed them all. Would have loved to give them 5 stars but they took NO COVID precautions. No distancing whatsoever and not a soul, including employees, was wearing a mask. Almost turned around when we got there. One word. DRY! Don't waste your money or your time. Service was horrible. The restaurant wasn't even busy. I walked in and ordered the rib plate and 1 minute later my food was delivered to my table as though it had been sitting for a while. It was cold. Ribs were mostly fat and my corn on the cob was soggy! How can you mess up corn on the cob?? My server checked on me one time and my drink never got replenished. Great BBQ and service. My husband loves the mac and cheese, and he always has enough for a second meal. The drive-thru special is a great deal. The chopped beef is tender and tasty. Me and my coworker went here yesterday around 3pm. The service was passable, the waitress advised us to avoid the frito pie and remarked that we were "really making her put her steps in" by sitting by the window, which we found odd. I had the Chicken Fried Brisket Sandwich, spicy fried greenbeans, and macaroni and cheese. All lacked seasoning, fried brisket was tough, the macaroni & cheese was somewhere between "broken fridge" and room temp which leads me to believe this is the culprit of the following experience since both me and my coworker had it. The green beans also tasted like they had been sitting around waiting to be fried a little too long, and were far from spicy. My Coworker had the pulled pork sandwich lunch special, and ribs. We both agreed that the food was not sitting well immediately afterward and we both had to pull over a couple times before we got home. I've got a pretty strong stomach so making me sick is pretty hard to do, and this did me in almost immediately. I called today to let one of the ladies working that we had been in yesterday and were not feeling well as a result of eating there to give them the opportunity to check on the menu items we had to make sure it hadn't gone south. The lady on the line transferred me to what I assume was her manager who said she would "have our kitchen look into it" with no sense of urgency, and no apology of any kind. Which sounds similar to the "hunky dorey" response the couple received when they found a fly in their food. If I could give zero stars I would. Maybe the next time someone gives you the courtesy of telling you that your food is making people sick in an effort to allow you to correct the mistake, take it seriously and apologize. An apology is free unlike a visit from the DPH. I'm just thankful I didn't have a craving for frito pie. read more

Driving back to Dallas and saw this on yelp! Such a great stop. I had the brisket sandwich, aaaaaand * they toasted the inside of the bun, so it had a delicious crunch with each bite * the brisket was really good. It wasn't dry. It was juicy. * they had a sweet sauce called mild and a savory sauce called Smokey. I really liked the Smokey But what was really amazing is they had green food! At so many BBQ places, I wish they had sides that were vegetables. I had a side of their seasonal vegetables, and they were so good! Flavorful. Savory. Really nicely cooked. I'd get a double side of those next time. My kids got lil' brisket sandwiches. My MIL had a salad. And my husband and FIL had baby back ribs. They really liked them and the baked beans. Came to this place to have some good bbq food, do to every ones recommendation this was the bbq spot in town. To say the least it seemed to be maybe the only bbq spot in town. The young lady serving us was very nice and attentive. But the reason of the 1 star is how they handled us finding a fly in the beans. The gentleman bussing tables and maybe serving handled the situation, we barely only had a few bites of are plate when noticing the fly. After taking our plate from us he came back to the table and said everything in the back was (hunky-dory) like what does that mean? Did he get rid of the rest of the batch of beans ? he said he got rid of our. Cup of beans but everything else is good. We could not even see the fly until she scooped it out with her spoon. I just want everyone to know that's how they handle it when they find bugs in their food. Yeah wasn't expecting that one. You would think mashed potatoes and gravy would be done well. Especially when the waiter asks if you want the "white gravy" or "brown gravy"...nope not done right. First time I had mashed potatoes I couldn't finish. Okay I'll be fair, it was the second time I've ever had mashed potatoes I couldn't finish. 'At least the chili will redeem this experience' I thought. Chili is always good. Guess again! Chili wasn't good. I shook my head trying to figure out their cooking algorithm for getting chili wrong. The ribs were okay. Sauce was good. Bathroom Maybe Sesame Street needs to come down here to tell them about their shapes because a circular toilet cover does not match an oval-shaped toilet seat. Was really looking forward to trying this place after my friends recommendation and the reviews. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype this evening. Turkey breast was moist but bland and the brisket was really disappointing. Very dry. Very lean but dry. Both meats needed the BBQ sauce to make it interesting. The high point was the sides, but sides shouldn't be the star of a bbq plate. That being said, the bbq beans were fantastic. Not too sweet. The green beans were pretty good. Got a side salad. It was a side salad but the honey mustard dressing was really nice. All in all it's worth a second chance, but I was really looking forward to some amazing brisket. I didn't get that tonight.
