Churro Hub is a whimsical place with food, drinks, games and so much more!…read more I LOVE Churros and when I saw their store name, I just had to check it out. I see Churros.. and I buy one or a few! I'm usually getting Churros from a stand at a festival.. but when I saw the store, I had to go inside : ) Service was a little slow, not many people were waiting. Maybe they make items to order. My items were hot. Location is at a strip mall, lots of parking. I got the Cinnamon Sugar Churro with sauces to go. I would have wanted to stay, have a coffee and play a game or two, but I had to get home so I placed my order to go. The place looked so fun, a place to hang out for all different ages. I saw vintage toys and items for sale; the place looked like a wonderful place for a collector to have a great time adding to his or her collection. The place has cool vibes. Next time I'm in town, I plane to enjoy my Churros inside. Cheers!~

I really wanted to like this place. The vibe is kitschy, cluttered, but sweet. The eclectic,…read morecolorful ambience gives way to (unfortunately) overpriced coffee and churros. The prices are not commensurate to the type of strip mall and overall valley location that the spot is in. Also, the churros took 10 minutes yet somehow tasted stale and lacking cinnamon. This place might be for those that like to make their life hard...those that expect a treat to have drawbacks...those who enjoy paying more for less. Admittedly, good churros in the valley are hard to come by. Churro Man sucks, and Junior's Churros switched over to catering because they were the best on the streets. Come here if you don't believe me, but I promise you won't be back.

I need to come back to try their cakes but their pastries are good! The selection is limited…read morethough, as they focus on cakes. I stopped by Sunday around 1 to pick up some pastries on my way to a friend's house. It's located in a plaza with a small parking lot. First thing you notice when you step in is that they have a lot of cakes on display. There's no seating either, it's strictly a grab and go place. Both times I came, someone was picking up a cake ahead of me, so that's definitely what to get here. I asked the cashier, and she said that you can either call or came in person to place a cake order. You can also come by and pick up one of their ready made cakes. Will keep this place in mind for the future. I picked up a number of pastries and tried some of them at my friend's place. Here's what I tried: Slice of vanilla roll cake ($2) - very moist but not much cream Almond croissant ($3.50) - loved the almond filling Sponge cake ($2.75) - delicious! Almond cookie ($0.35 each) - tastes exactly like the almond cookies I ate growing up Cream puff ($2) - this was the only thing I didn't like. The puff layers on both the top and bottom were dry Next time I need a cake, I know where to get it!

Really the best bakery in town: they sell pastries and also really the best cake ever!…read moreI had my birthday cake there and you can see the pictures it was white with light, pink decorations, and Strawberry and banana inside. But last night I got the cake for my son's birthday, and I got him a 8" très Leche cake; it had slivered almonds on the side, all around and a layer of strawberries inside for $52 All the guests love that, including my son that enjoyed his birthday cake! Honestly, if I can give six stars to that Bakery I would! It is located in Van Nuys off Sherman Way, one block West of Sepulveda! A true treasure of Bakery

The dessert was just as good--soft, flavorful, and topped with the perfect crunch for contrast. You can tell Cafe 86 knows exactly what they're doing when it comes to ube. It's a great late-night dessert spot with a relaxed vibe and consistently solid quality. If you're an ube fan (or trying it for the first time), Cafe 86 is a must.

With today's heat wave in the SFV, it felt like the perfect excuse to finally try the halo-halo…read morefrom this Filipino bakery/café that's been sitting on my "Want to Go" list for a while. One thing to note: they open late--12:30 PM. Parking was easy, and there's a decent amount of seating inside. I happened to be the first customer of the day. Don't expect the warm, smiley Filipino hospitality right away--just head straight to the counter and place your order on the iPad. As for the halo-halo, it's definitely not your traditional version. It wasn't bad by any means, but it's quite different from the halo-halo I grew up with and the ones I enjoy whenever I visit Manila. If you're looking for a modern take on the classic dessert, you may appreciate it more than I did. Prices are pretty standard for Los Angeles, and they accept Apple Pay, which is always a plus.
