The burgers are frozen low grade slop; the lettuce is mcdonalds nasty shred; the wings are injected frozen garbage in a deep-fry mess; the fries are over seasoned; the beer is totally flat; everything comes with an upcharge like a sauce or topping; they serve you in paper and plastic; the place has not been remodeled in 40 years; the sports screens are ancient. Goolsby's can be a fun, interesting sports bar. The walls are chocked full of sports memorabilia and large TV's all turned to different games. I used to go to Miller Time Pub located under Hilton Hotel located North 5 Street & WISCONSIN. Since Miller Time Pub does not wait on customers who come into their Pub and the Major has polite people who willing to wait on the customers. The food is good price and buffalo wings are very good along with the hamburger that has a great taste. It was 25 yrs since I went there. I told them how Miller Time wouldn't wait on me they said " we will always welcome you and wait on you." A great sports bar in heart of downtown and right near Bradly center. the place has way too many televisions and ample unique seating along with two great bars. it has a good old fashion kitchen that you can see into from the bar and just great decorations. My girlfriend and I was in town for the lakers at bucks game, not being from around here. We were hoping for some good reviewed wings. Upon entering the restaurant, they asked for id. My girlfriend was only 20, and he said that she couldnt only enter with a guardian. I was 25, and asked isnt that old enough to be considered a guardian. The service was okay - A fine example of the cuisine: The cajun chicken sadwich was flavored with buffalo wing sauce. This restaurant does not even deserve one star. My boyfriend and I am from out of town to see a game at Bradley's center. Dropped by around 4-5pm and was denied entry. The main reason we were given was "Customers has to be over 21 or with a parent or guardian." I am 20 years old, 2 months shy of 21, I understand that I would not have made it past the door. My boyfriend, however, is 25, he showed his ID and the person at the door decided to change his mind and told us that he needed to be a parent. We did not want to argue over poor service, so we left. Applebee's at this point has better service than major goolsby. PS. There were definitely a group of guys who went to the restaurant without a parent or was over 25 from earlier afternoon when we walked past the restaurant from our stay at Hyatt Regency. We decided to try the food at Major Goolsby's at Summerfest, because we've never tried them. We ordered a Major Bacon cheeseburger and French fries with cheese. The cheese fries were fine, but the burger was the worst burger my partner had ever eaten in his life, and he eats a lot of burgers. The bun was soggy and was soaked in oil so heavily that he says "it tasted like a raw animal in my mouth." The burger was so hideous that after several bites, he threw it away. We never leave Yelp reviews but this food was literally not safe to eat. And I paid $11.50 for the burger alone. For the rest of the night he felt ill and couldn't bring himself to eat anything else. read more

Don't go for the food. Limited menu of poor quality pre-processed food prepared in a manner consistent with the quality. 1 soup. Chilli. and 3 or 4 other sandwich varieties. Absolutely the worst hamburger I have ever had. Fries and rings are frozen and cooked out of the box. Nothing is fresh. Other reviews claim the wings, but they're most likely out of a box too. It's close to the Bradley Center and MKE Theatre, but the advantages stop there. The Sports illuistrated "award" is most likely dated, and is surely overstated. A lot of TV's tuned to 3 channels. Big deal. BWW has the same set up and a much better selection and quality of food. Beer served in a plastic disposable cup. Brought back memories of college bars without the advantage of co-eds. This is by far one of the worst places I have ever been too for any dining experience. Here are all of the things wrong with this establishment and why it should be out of business immediately if there is any hope for humanity. 1. Their "12 oz" beers, which is there tallest beer, was in a 8 oz plastic cup and cost 3.75. They had other cups for water that were actually 12 ounces. 2. This place is known for burgers, AND THE BURGER DOESNT COME WITH FRIES!!!!!!!! not only was it over $10 but the fries were $3 separately and they were an extremely small plate. 3. The icing on the cake is that YOU CANT SPLIT CHECKS. And not only could we not split it but the waitress didn't even point out that it was written in tiny print at the bottom of the menu. She only told us AFTER WE ATE. Needless to say major goolsbys is the worst thing about Milwaukee. Even worse than the homeless people and the outrageous alcohol curfew. Please don't eat here. Went to Major Goolsby's before the Bucks game last weekend. Got a table right away as it wasn't very packed. Got 4 burgers, two orders of wings and mozza stix. Food took about 20-25 minutes, not a long wait at all. We split pitchers while watching the Auburn v Alabama game. The place went nuts at the end of that one. The wings were great, they are easily the best wings downtown. Burgers are great, I love the crispy, curly bacon that always is perfect when served on their burgers. We had a tab of about $100 so $25/each plus tips. Solid deal. Just plan ahead as they don't split checks. Not a problem cause we knew and all brought cash. I love this place, we always try to go here before Bucks games. This is THE sports bar in Milwaukee you have to go to if you haven't already. I highly recommend and endorse with 5 stars. read more

Wonderful place! We came in last week for the admirals game. We had a large group and it was quite busy but the service was quick and the food was great! At one point I received a beer and it wasn't quite what I was expecting and Jessica exchanged it for me and I was much more pleased with the second one. Best wings in town! Even better than Points East Pub although they couldn't be more different style (Major Goolsbys are greasy and Points East first deep frys and then finishes on a grill). However I'm not crazy about much else on the menu but I'm not sure if food is really the point there. Tons of TVs and if your game isn't on, the friendly bartenders are helpful with adding it. This place used to be my favorite sports bar, but things have changed. The food is mediocre at best and overpriced for what you get. Beer is$14 bucks for a pitcher and PLASTIC cups! I was surprised how enjoyable watching an NFL game here was. There's plenty of TV's and the atmosphere is great. The food is expensive, you don't get fries with a burger and the burgers are kind of like Kopps burgers - low quality meat but tasted good and good sized. I understand this is a sports bar, but a couple of friends and I stopped in to get some food and watch the beginning of the Packer game on a Sunday afternoon and got rejected because not all of us were 21 years of age. They told me that they couldn't even serve us food! I was absolutely irate. I couldn't believe the disrespect I received from the waitress like we were inferior and stupid to her. Milwaukee has a lot of bars, but not many great sports bars with 50+ TV's. In fact, this may be the only one after the closing of Phanatics. The TV's are even labeled indicating which NFL game is showing. The service is always good and the food is good pub fare....just stay away from the nachos. Wings are the meatiest in Milwaukee. Some are almost drum sticks they're so big. Every Packer game has drawings and free shots for every Packer touchdown. There's plenty of seating and the atmosphere is loud and fun. Nice selection of taps and plenty of bar seating (long bar). TV's everywhere....behind the bar, above the bar, hanging from the ceiling, projecting on the walls....everywhere! read more

Four dollars for a can of Miller Lite, and that's an advertised special. Food is average, but also equally overpriced. Let's be honest if this place were anywhere else in Milwaukee it would fold in a week, and I think I'm being generous with the timeline. Goolsby's survives because of it's proximity to the Bradley Center. I've never been in here when it's not a Bucks, Marquette, UWM, or Admirals night and I would wager that the place is empty all other times. Do yourself a favor; go to your neighborhood local and have a bite and a drink there, then Lyft or Uber it to the BC. you'll be better off. Note: Goolsby's deserves a one-star, two stars are given for the friendliness of the staff. It's not their fault management thinks so lowly of it's customers. read more

Chicken wings had no flavor and were served in a puddle of grease. The only good thing I can say about the grease is at least they didn't use old cooking oil.
