The food isn't spectacular, but I'd probably go again if I have a fish craving. I ordered on Uber. Food came hot, which I was surprised by because I'm 30ish blocks away. Packaging was good: double wrapped in a bag to keep the heat in, napkins included. The portion sizes are generous. The fish and shrimp are both decently sized (yay!). They also give enough fries. Seasoning. I'm not impressed with the seasoning. I think this is the only reason why I've docked a couple of stars. I do not like the seasoning/taste of the shrimp batter. I probably wouldn't get the shrimp again. It lacks a "seasoning" taste. I can't exactly pinpoint the exact flavor of the batter, but it's almost citrusy and beyond that it's flavorless. Anyways, I won't get the regular shrimp again but would perhaps try the Prime Time Shrimp. The catfish's seasoning was remarkably better from the shrimp's. Still, however, it wasn't great. So long story short, my Uber driver last night told me about this place and due to one of the owners ties to another similar establishment in Harlem, I knew I had to give them a try. They've been open 4 months now and I hadn't heard anything about them. I stopped in earlier today and to my surprise they had a more extensive menu that I expected. I decided on the fried catfish and grits and it did not disappoint. I got 3 nice sized pieces of catfish and the grits were cheese grits, oh my (my personal fave). It was all sooo damn good. This is the favorite fish place for me and my entire family!! I love the catfish, it's crispy, salty, and meaty. The fried shrimps are flaky, plump, and sweet. In addition, the food is consistent from day today, the staff have always been friendly, and they have never made a mistake with my order. The sweet tea and lemonade combination are a great match for the saltiness of the fish. The catfish was cooked to perfection, lightly battered, not greasy, fish meat was super white, had a great texture and tasted very fresh. The french fries were a nice size, both in length and width, nicely fried with no greasy taste, and the coleslaw was just the way I like it with ingredients that tasted freshly made. The portion of fish was enough for two people (or for 2 days) and the total cost of $20 for everything was well worth it to me. Will definitely return and try their other fish (whiting, porgy, shrimp) and sides (collard greens, yams, macaroni & cheese). It's not a sit-in dining type of place, but the folk working, cooking the fish or preparing the orders were pretty efficient; moving at a good pace to people's orders filled. I believe there were some tall seats available that one could sit on while they waited, if I'm not mistaken. A sit down dining area would be great, but it's not large enough to handle that. WORTH EVERY CENT! I've experienced this amazing soul food a number of ways. Catering, take out, Uber eats just to make a few. The single portions are enough for two. The sides dishes are amazing! Best Mac and cheese of all the soul foods restaurants in Harlem and all of Manhattan. The fish is seasoned so good that it still tastes good the next day. The food is consistently good. Of the five or six times I've had their food i have always gotten really great service. It's also clean inside the restaurant. In my opinion it's more of a takeout type of place and not a place to go sit down although there are some seats while waiting on the order to be put together.
