I hadn't ever visited Malibu Brew, but won a giftcard in a raffle and wanted to take my kids to check it out. We had so much fun! I was doing phonics flashcards with my son and the adorable couple working behind the counter were giving him hints :) The hot chocolates they had were finished in a matter of minutes and my chai latte was AWESOME. NO, NO, NO! Yelpers steered me wrong. The burritos are Pre-made who knows where, no cheese as the menu read, very dry due to overheating in MICROWAVE. Saw many syrups lined up for the smoothie's-yuck. The guy heating up the burritos didn't use gloves and wanted to handle my money at the same time. I'm sure they mean well but stuck out. read more

Huge props to the owners for being able to multitask and handling the packs of Jr. high/High School students that come around for a snack. If that sentence doesn't sound like I was annoyed well I was when the line is out the door and some of them are yelling ridiculous things. The coffee is great but the service is spectacular. In town for a family wedding and happened upon Malibu Brew, what a gem. When I walked in the owner immediately engaged me in great conversation which continued until I left. My hands were full when I was leaving and he ran over to open the door for me. Truly great. When walking in you are immediately greeted with a warm welcome as if your family that just walked in. All teas, coffees, pastries and breakfast burritos are top notch. Blindfolded and order? You will love what is made no matter what. I ordered a breakfast burrito and before I sat doe I could see it being walked over to me. Just because it is fast, doesn't mean it lacks quality. Everything was fresh and piping hot. Wish I could give more stars. Stop at Malibu Brew, and you won't be sorry. We were looking for a coffee stop between Paso and Avila Beach and found this little dog-friendly gem on Yelp. It's in an old service/gas station--and they even have drive-up service (for humans and their dogs!). The staff is warm and friendly and there seem to be a lot of locals because they were all asking the staff (also the owners, I think) about their vacation plans. I highly recommend stopping in here. These guys have the best coffee in town --- hands down!!! Plus it's organic. I don't get the exotic drinks but they take great pride in their products and service, so can only imagine lattes and such are super as well. Owners are consistently ultra friendly and cheerful. They remember your order and make it a point to greet you by name. They provide the type of service that seems almost "out of style" -- kind, connected, caring and always accommodating. This place is great! Stopped here on the way to Santa Barbara and had a drink in their grassy back yard. Service was very friendly, prices are dirt cheap. The staff is always friendly and if you go there more then once a week they remember what you drink. The coffee is always good. I tried the new Malibu Brew Bakery across the street which is brand new and they have a lot to learn, so for now I will stick with the drive through location - which is more convenient any way. read more

Great coffee, great service, and they allow dogs (on the back patio, at least). SCORE!! Never made use of their "drive-up" service but it's awesome that it's there in case I ever need it.
