I can't wait until Malibu reopens at their new spot! The kids and I miss their Frappuccinos!

New location, but even better quality! The drinks are as good as they've always been but at a new, nearby location. They might not have the drive up window anymore but they now have a nice patio and welcoming interior that makes you want to stay awhile! Oh did I mention they now have DOC BURSTEIN's ice cream??? Great addition, especially for the kids getting off school and the sports players/parents over at the park(sunken gardens) The coffee is still very tasty! Service above and beyond what I would expect at a coffee place! The owners give back to the community and really embrace all the events at Sunken Gardens. No gluten free options of any kind. In the modern age of gluten free baking and health, I find it shocking that there wasn't even one gluten free option here. I did type "gluten free coffee shop" into yelp and this is one that came up. read more

My new favorite coffee place. The service was top notch. What sweet people! They even came out to give our dog a beggin strip! Our drinks were great too. Vanilla late and a mocha. YUM! We drank them at the park across the street. It was the perfect pit stop. read more

I love this coffee shop! I've never been disappointed. Recently, my son's jaw was broken and he's been on a liquid diet...we've been getting a lot of smoothies there. My new favorite is the coconut dragonfly and I don't even like coconut! It's delicious! Even better is the fact that it's not a chain coffee shop with a ton of overpriced items. The staff are friendly, the baked goods are fine... but the espresso is not up to par for the discriminating espresso connoisseur. I am of the opinion that you can determine the quality of a cafe by the espresso... if you enjoy drinking their espresso straight, then the other coffee drinks will also likely be good. Here, the espresso was acidic, bitter, and blah. A big disappointment. read more

Very good. Paul is so nice. The drinks are amazing. My favorite part is the way they do their bagels. They toast them and put the cream cheese on, put it together like a little sandwich and cut it into fourths. Other coffee shops just give you a toasted bagel with a side of cream cheese. So I really appreciate how they do that for you. It makes it more yummy and enjoyable. Especially when you're in a hurry. read more

Coffee decent (on the sweet side). Service is slow and clumsy (not bringing cutlery, forgetting to bring food, etc)

The staff was warm and friendly. The menu was extensive and the coffee was wonderful. I liked that it felt like a neighborhood place and the locals stopped to chat with me, even though I was from out of town. I will definitely stop here again whenever I'm in town. read more

This looks like it used to be a Tastee Freeze or something, but inside the music, owners and awesome caffeinated beverages make you stoked as hell! They were playing the GoGos and the owner asked us if we liked them or Belinda Carlisle's solo stuff. It was sweet. The have espresso, great coffee and an actual great selection of fancy teas. Extra special bonus for being one of the few places open on a Sunday. Clearly Atascadero isn't like the cities we're used to, even cafes are closed on Sunday when you need to get your brunch and coffee on! If you're ever passing by you must stop at Malibu. read more

Love my coffee drinks from here. Never too sweet, never get nothing but syrup in the first few ounces of blended or iced coffee. They always stir in Carmel, chocolate etc and decorative swirl the cup but manage to get the perfect sweet level to the drink. They ARE a drive thru and a sit down cafe with outdoor seating too. They offer a great selection of smoothies as well and the strawberry smoothie is picky toddler approved. Fast, polite and on point.....beats the others, no contest. read more

My son and I have been regularly coming to Malibu Brew for over a year. The customer service is spectacular and their coffee is awesome. Although they don't advertise it, their coffee is organic / fair trade from Central Coast Roasters. A wonderful place. read more

5 stars in my book. I stop here about twice a week. The owner Paul and his wife and daughter do an excellent job running the place and serving great tasting coffee. Their bagels and pastries are delicious as well. Don't listen to these haters giving them 1 or 2 stars. People like that cry and throw tantrums when they can't get their way. (Ex: gluten crap, catering to them, getting butthurt real easy, abnormally picky, etc.) Stop by and you won't be dissapointed. I recommend the Black Velvet Coffee. It'll wake you right up read more

Came in about a week ago, hadn't had a chance to review. I was craving for a fruit flavor smoothie, got a berry flavored one and it was delicious. The owner takes your order from your car in front of this quaint coffee house. I had a cafe Americano . I try this first because it sets the tone for all other coffee base drinks . It was so bitter I couldn't drink it which shows in my experience that this Asian owned business has cut corners to maximize profit. The service is unique but who cares if the coffee sucks read more
