Really great experience! Went here after work and they took me at 6:15 and they close at 7. Tien did my nails and it took until about 7:30 but she never made me feel like I was depriving them of going home and being rude. She was so sweet and took her time to make sure every brush stroke was perfect. I was having car troubles and my phone wasn't working so she even let me use her phone! Please excuse my massive review but to start off... if I could give them zero stars I would and I use to come to Malibu Nails all the time and since new management I have never had such an awful experience with getting my nails done EVER! When I called the other day even on the phone they were short with me and sounded eager to get off the phone, I had to call twice to make sure it was right because how fast they were and kept cutting me off. Fast forward to this morning, I walk in I could tell the place was different and looked nice and that's when my other friend told me they had new management. I didn't think anything of it, and didn't mind at all. Our reservation was at 10. We were sitting there along with another lady who had a reservation at 10 too. She already seems annoyed that it was 10:20 and none of us had been called yet. Finally around 10:40 they call my friend over for her Dip. Then shortly they called me over for my Gel. My other friend for her pedi after. We were all separated at opposite ends of the place. Kind of annoying since we all wanted to sit together or at least by each other but whatever no big deal. The lady is doing my gels I realized was being super rough. I thought it's fine until it started to really hurt. I wasn't going to say anything until she cut me and I started to bleed. It hurt so bad when she did it my whole body jolted back. She said sorry and I brushed it off. I'm bleeding alittle and she doesn't clean it. She still works quickly though there is no one waiting and when she sprays the alcohol on my fingers she sprays it right on the cut and it hurt really bad. She then tells me to pick a new color because the color I pick is too light and she would have to do to many layers and with gels it would lift. She grabs the colors and gives them to me. This point I am annoyed and I'm not arguing with her even though I have had this color PLENTY OF TIMES! Whatever I wanted her to be done with my nails. She then moves me to the chair to get my pedicure done. I look over at my friend who got Dips for the first time that are ombré. She's horrified because it looks like a big white blob on her finger nail. The guy made it seem that it's easy to do her nails ombré, obviously not. The lady finishes off my fingers and then ask if I want a massage.. Guess they don't come included anymore. I first said no and then she said it would be like 7 dollars more for a massage. I asked if it's a long massage she said yes. TWO MINUTES LATER, she is done with both arms! Woohoo for the $7, 2 minute massage. Then the lady finishes my toes asks if they are fine and I'm looking at them thinking absolutely not but I'm leaving. I said it's fine, cause I was over it and wanted to go. They look like a 4 year old did them, I had paint on the side of my skin it looks hideous. My friend who got the dip kept making faces at me because the girl was hurting her, cause she was being FAST AND ROUGH. The guy doing her nails already told her to slow down and she doesn't. She continues to hurt my friend till my friend said, "no more I'm done, thank you." She doesn't get paint on her toes. We go to the front to pay I pay my money and then the lady who did my nails I guess is the manager ARGUES WITH MY FRIEND saying that they didn't make her bleed and she still has to pay full price. My friend shows her were she made her bleed cause there is STILL blood on her toes and then she just says "well that happens". We paid the full amount .As for my other friend they RE-use a dirty old toe separator for her feet! Absolutely applauding. A few hours later I decide to call and speak to the manager because my fingers hurt.Turns out the lady who did my nails Nancy is the manager. She starts arguing with me on the phone saying it wasn't her fault, that she wasn't rough with my nails, and keeps going on about I don't understand that the color wouldn't work. After 10 minutes of a loud argument back and forward I said I will never be coming back here cause this is how you are with costumers and good bye. She claims her and her people weren't rough with us, she told me that it's just how my skin grows and how it goes over my cuticles and that's why it bled. First off, they took my temperature, next I had to fill out a form asking about my exposure, and lastly and best of all, my mani/ pedi were done outside still with plexiglass dividers, and both myself and the technician wore masks. I've come here a few times. It's never anything spectacular. I would recommend they hire someone who speaks and understands English to work the front desk & scheduling that's NOT a nail tech. Nothing worse than someone who keeps walking away from a client to take payments. Today I scheduled a gel manicure and a pedicure. When I got there they asked if I was only getting a pedicure. I said no, I scheduled a gel mani also. They started on my pedicure & finished. No gel manicure. I couldn't wait around for them to find time bc I had another appointment on the other side of town. 4.5 stars. Flawless gel manicure that lasts for three weeks at an unbeatable price of $24. The only thing is I wish it weren't so crowded but I understand why it is. Tables are pretty close together, not the most relaxing environment but for such a great manicure and price you just have to deal. Staff are all very friendly. Update: The main reasons I kept coming back here were reliable gel mani that usually lasts three weeks when done by MOST any nail techs. There are a couple that don't do go jobs but I've learned who they are. The price is great too. Also like that you can pretty much get in any time without an appt. they are usually able to work you in with a max 15 min wait. My satisfaction had been slowly declining though. BUT the way the nail techs gossip with each other in their language has always been rude, I just tolerated it because of the positives and because it's pretty common at nail salons (unfortunately). Trust me I am not racist by any means, it is rude to talk about your customers in front of them in ANY language. Again, I have just tolerated it. Recently I made an appt with a specific tech, arrived a few minutes early just to be told that she just started helping someone else. I can understand her taking another customer if I had been late, but I wasn't! They all just say sorry like it's no big deal. Another time I sat down and unfortunately had an urgent call, told the tech I had to leave and asked if she could just finish removing gel and I would pay for that and come back another time for mani... nope I guess they didn't like that and a few of the employees started talking amongst themselves about it. Don't go to this place if you want quality service. I recently got a gel manicure (8 days ago exactly) and the mani started chipping only 5 days after I got the service! Such a joke; gels should stay for at least 2 weeks if not more! I got a pedicure too while there and after a few days even those started to chip! And I've had pedis last up to a month without any chips! The guy who did my gel mani is the owner I believe and he was so incredibly rude while doing my nails. He had filed them a bit and as he was working on the other hand I went to scratch my neck with my finger (not even the nail!) and he yelled at me "NO DONT TOUCH IT!" Like relax! I didn't even have any polish on or any prep at all! Such a joke. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because I've been once before and it wasn't this bad, but I won't be going back from now on. Finally after the third coat she decided it wasn't working out and asked me to pick another color. Which was fine but I had already been there over an hour and didn't have time to stay. When I said just take it off I need to go she did and apologized. However I get to the register to pay for my daughters services and they charge me $12 for an express mani which is cuticle cutting and polish, which I didn't even get a clear coat put on. I've been coming here for 2 months and did a just a gel manicure cause it was a good price and I usually have acrylics but I wanted my nails to grow stronger again for a couple months! Their gels aren't bad but their pedicures are horrible and I'm just grossed out at their sterilization. I watched the nail tech use old nail clippers and the "bag" she ended up putting back into a drawer by their sink which leads me to believe they reuse them to make you think it's "sterile". And the towel she used was disgusting and had this white stuff all over it! Also my nail tech (tempy is her name) was so ruff and kept telling me to relax and rolling her eyes. I'm very relaxed at the nail salon so I don't know what her problem is. Plus don't try and walk in here they will say they can get you in then you'll wait 30-45 mins. & they get very annoyed and short with you if you don't make an appointment. I won't be coming back her ever again and sticking to Laque in North Hollywood where I get my acrylics. I rather pay more for good quality work. If you want un-sterile rude staff and poor work this is your place to go. read more

Jessica's entire staff is fantastic! My gel manicures easily last four or more weeks. They've safely reopened outside and have partitions to space each client with shade and individual fans. Nail salon is very convenient because its 4 minutes from my house BUT every time I go they hurt me and my nails always mess up. my nails are so weak now its sad. Every time after they hurt me I still go but I've had enough! Every time Maria does my pedicures I HATE IT. worst clean up ever. always leaving unsatisfied. She glued my broken toe nail when I asked for her to use acrylic instead and she kept saying it won't break but a few days after my toenail broke and was puncturing my toe during class. I have been here twice, biggest mistake coming back. Just keep on going to the one in Canyon Country. First time I came in, I asked for a Gel Manicure. I asked if she could do Stars and Stripes for the 4th of July, and she said no. All she could do was lines. So she did the lines and they were so uneven. She was very rude too. Came back in today and I thought maybe because it was a different person they could do a polka dot design for me. I showed her the picture of the nail design that I wanted, and her response was "If I have time." That is what I scheduled an appointment for. So as she started to do my nails she then said did you pick the colors. I told her well it depends if you have time. She then responded with, " I don't have time, just pick two colors." So of course I just chose two colors. She then proceeded with the gel manicure really quickly. This has to have been the sloppiest manicure that I have ever gotten. Not to mention her attitude was so rude. Making it seem as if was not worth her time. So do not come here if you want a design on your gel manicure or good customer service.
