Went for a pedicure as a walk in. Just a simple pedicure with no color. Now I know why they have walk in available. Definitely not worth $28. Didn't cut my nails evenly, managed to cut my toe, and didn't even put clear polish. This place is not for me. read more

They have horrible customer service if you have an issue with the job they did... 4 days after getting a powder nail dip on my nails, they begin to lift and chip off. I requested a refund over the phone. The guy on the phone said to come in and they would refund. I get there and he has a million non valid reasons as to why he wouldn't give me a refund. Saying, "maybe we need to do a thicker coat, maybe you work with your hands a lot , we used our time to do your nails so we can't refund". Well I worked hard for the money to pay for my nails and not to only last me 4 days. He offered to redo the nails. However, I don't have time to sit for basically a whole new dip considering almost all nails lifted and chipped. I tried to compromise and asked for gift certificate since he wouldn't do a refund and I would use it on my pedicures (they are good at pedicures, no complaints). *UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT* I've gone twice since they'v been taken over from Jessica and all the wonderful people from Beth's Nails and I'm very disappointed. I've been going to this salon for over 4 years so I was a little shocked when I walked into not see any of the familiar faces I've grown to know. Shout out to my Pineapple guy! Anyways... this place has a very different atmosphere now.. you walk in and it just feels very cold. I came in for a pedi today and I've never been so upset. At first Mai was supposed to do my pedi but the manager pulled her from me and pulled her to the lady next to me w/ out even acknowledging me! I like Mai, she's from the original girls and I felt very comfortable with her. Instead they had some gentleman that I've never seen before take her place. Whatever, I'm not that picky. This guy had an attitude about him that I noticed immediately. He starts cutting my nails and putting on the cuticle remover and just started SCRAPPING MY NAIL SO HARD. I flinched and told him ouch! I'm not someone that will cause a scene so I just quietly let him continue but put my phone down and intently watched him. As he went on he cut the side of my big toe and it began to bleed... he quickly put oil on it hoping I wouldn't notice the blood. I will never go back to this place. This is the first time I've never tipped someone and I have no remorse. This gentleman knew exactly the service he was providing and just clearly didn't care. The girl at the front asked me how my service was and I said it was awful. I paid and just left. So very sad for my beloved Malibu Nails. I'm bringing my business back to Beth's in Canyon Country. First time coming here since the change in ownership. Two girlfriends and I came in for our 10am appointment and waited until around 1140 before we were taken back one at a time. I showed the "nail tech" a photo of the ombre dip I wanted. He made it seem like no problem and it's a pretty simple nail request. They came out super bulky and all white. My girlfriend sat down with the color she wanted and her "nail tech" told her it was too light, she needed to choose another one. We are not ones to make a scene or complain so we let it go. Next we all were sat together for our pedicures. Great, things are looking up! Nope, one girlfriend watches her "nail tech" grab a soiled (as in she just watched another tech take it off the person next to hers toes) toe separator and put it between her toes. Meanwhile both myself and my other girlfriend have kindly told both ladies doing our toes that it was painful. They said sorry and then continued on until finally the "nail tech" doing my pedicure clips my toe causing it to bleed. I then told her we were finished and went to pay for my nails. Here, they proceeded to charge me for my unfinished unpainted bleeding pedicurecure telling me "it happens". This did not just happen, they were told they were being incredibly too rough and this could have been avoided. $68 later I have all white bubbly nails, sore unfinished and bloody toe nails. My girlfriends toe nails have paint on skin also bubbly and also got cut. Not a place I will EVER return to and surely not a place I would recommend to anyone. read more

So, this place now under new owner. I think about a month now since it's been bought. ****Pictures included Well, I was there today (7/6/19) to have a mani and a pedi. File and paint nails. The new owner and employees were not nearly as fun or cheerful as the previous owner. You don't feel welcomed like you did with the previous owners. But they are across the street from me and I wanted to give them a chance. I asked the girl doing my nails that I wanted my nails round off because the edges of my nails were to sharp and pointy especial when I'm with the baby. She nodded ok as if she understood. 4 fingers into her filing my nails I noticed something was off. She had filed them into a pointy nail. I was pissed! I asked her what happened? Why were my nails pointy? She didn't speak much English and just kept saying "you want round?" I'm on the verge of tears I'm so livid! There was no fixing her mistake! Next thing I know I'm surrounded by 4 other employees including the manager and one the girls says yes she missed up your nails. They suggested putting on tips on one hand to even out with the other hand that they hadn't touched. I don't like acrylics or anything glued my nails because I had a boss who acrylics, got an infection and lost her thumb. But I was going to consider it because I wanted to keep my nails that I had worked so hard to grow. The manager And offered a $5 dollar discount off the regular price. I thought she was insane and had a lot of balls asking me to pay more to fix their mistake! I said no, to just do my pedi and let me get out of there. I was so upset I couldn't even do the pedi! I walked out! First off...speak the language! Secondly don't ask a customer to pay more for you mistake! And lastly, have more sympathy for the customer you just screwed! NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO BACK! I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!!! read more

Ugh horrible! This was my first time coming to Malibu Nails to get a Gel manicure done. The staff were pleasant however, the quality of their gel manicure is HORRENDOUS! Is hasn't even been a week yet and they are already starting to peel or crack off. I've never had this experience with gel polish before! It should last at least 3 weeks. I honestly don't even want to go back to get it redone in fear that it will just do the same thing again and won't be worth my time. I should have known when another customer walked in asking to have hers redone as she noticed the same thing with her gel polish from a few days before blaming it on possible old polish. However, the one applied on me was BRAND NEW so I'm not sure if it's their application technique or just cheaper gel polish. Ugh. read more
