This restaurant is located near the H Mart area in Garden Grove, which is convenient and easy to find. The space has a Central Vietnam vibe cute, tidy, and very clean. Some of the dishes brought me back to Hội An, especially the more traditional items. The bánh bèo was Hội A style and the highlight of our meal. The crispy pork skin was delicious, and the fish sauce was well balanced and complemented the dish nicely. We also tried the bún bò Huế . While it was flavorful, the broth was a bit sweet for my taste, so it didn't fully hit the mark. The Cơm Cá Salmon came in a large portion, but the flavor was fairly average and not very memorable. The service was friendly, and there is plenty of parking right in front !

This was our first time dining here, and we were very impressed. We ordered the canh chua cá, tôm rim ba rọi, canh khoai mỡ, and cá lù đù chiên, and every dish was exceptionally delicious. The prices were reasonable, making the meal an even better value. The restaurant isn't very large, but it's the perfect size for a cozy family atmosphere. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick. We will definitely be coming back to try more of their dishes. Highly recommended!

Just dine in not so long ago, everything is good tbh but the only thing made me a bit down is that. Mam Ca & Dua Cai is $10, not sure if its something normal but it was our first time and we thought it came with one of our dishes since our waiter did not elaborate about extra fees, but simply ask after we finished ordering. Food is good tho, service is normal. But for the price I would say many other vietnamese spot around are more competitively

2nd time: We ordered a side of cha gio and the Mam #3 combo. The cha gio was perfectly crispy, I really must say shatteringly crispy as only rice paper can be when done right (other restaurants use the wheat version which is inferior), the stuffing was tasty and without the taro fillers I find elsewhere. I loved the mustard green soup just like the way we made at home in the old country. The greens crisp tender, the broth slightly sweet and savory. The fried tofu with the crispy pork bits sits a pool of sauce exemplifies part of what is great about traditional Viet cooking: heavy on plant based food while the animal products is meant heighten the flavor. Finally the shrimp and pork caramel dish compliments the soup and the tofu for even more flavor and texture of the shrimp peel (totally edible). Mam Kitchen is the only restaurant where I want to keep eating even when I am full. I am coming back for the Mam Oc (shellfish).

Combo #1 Cá kho tastes not good. Lack of flavor. I can't feel any pepper and it is so plain. I asked to change the boilded rau muống for stir fries rau muống but the owner said that the menu combo couldn't be changed at all. Even for extra charge. The owner refused to do anything. I ordered an extra dish of thit kho tiêu. The meat has bad smell while chewing. We couldn't eat. So we left the entire dish un-touch. The canh chua has no flavor at all. They didn't put the garlic fries on top. The soup plain. So disappointed. We never come back. The 4.5 stars reviews on Yelp must not be true. We paid $45 ended up empty stomach and went to Mc Donald. Super disappointed.

Mâm means tray in Vietnamese -- the way families traditionally gather around shared trays for everyday meals. I came here because I was craving that exact feeling of a simple, comforting, home‑cooked meal, and this place really captured that spirit. I ordered their family‑style set, which came with steamed greens, perfectly boiled eggs that were firm on the outside and jammy in the center, a bright and tangy sour soup, braised fish, and rice. Everything tasted wholesome and nostalgic, like something you'd find in a Vietnamese home kitchen. I also added the clams with basil stir‑fry, which were fragrant and fresh. The atmosphere was lovely, with hand‑painted walls that made the space feel warm and intentional. It's the kind of place where you can slow down and enjoy a real meal. If I could change one thing, I do wish the flavors were a bit stronger overall -- just a touch more seasoning or depth would have made the dishes even more memorable. A couple of small details could also be improved: I wished the bathroom had a hook or small table for my handbag, and while the hot sauce and sate jars were full, the outside of the container was sticky. A quick wiped own everyday would make the experience feel more polished. Still, the food absolutely satisfied my craving for a comforting, home‑style Vietnamese meal.

No no and big no no. Mì nam vang tastes nothing. The heart smells like it stays in fridge for 10 days. Heo quay is pieces of fried black salty meat with mít from the can.

Very delicious food. Catfish was fresh in the canh chua and ca kho to. We ordered togo. I'm sure the food would be even better eating there while hot. Will definitely be coming back.

Finally, I found a restaurant that sells bánh đập & bánh bèo nhân ướt in the US. We ordered bánh đập thịt nướng, bánh bèo tôm thịt & bánh bèo nhân ướt, and cao lầu. - Bánh đập: the sauce was very good. We ordered 5 cakes for 2 persons. - Bánh bèo: the dishes were warm, the cakes were soft. They were freshly made. - Cao lầu: it's good. Better quality than the ones I had in Hoi An market. Service was great. Very nice decorations.

I never write a review but today the service was so gross I ask for whole Thai chili peppers and he gave me with his BARE HANDS that he wipe his nose with not even a gloves or on the plate

I had to use whole fish sauce to balance the sweetness of their foods
    Thien L.

I have eaten cơm phần at many places this place is the worse. Everything are super sweet I had to use all the fish squce to balance the sweetness. Not only the foods were bad the server was dirty. I saw he boew his nose and wiped his nise with his bare hand and just used napkins to clean his hand and he also vaoed behind the counter. No wonder this place is dead. I would not recommened stay away

We saw this place reviewed on the Facebook but was skeptical because many times the review look good but tast were so bad. This time we was passing by so we just taking a chance and hoping maybe it won't be so bad and keeping our finger crossing. Inside it's decoration with nice, warm Hoi An or Huế stylish. Services are very friendly, polite and fast. There are special dinner combo menu. The price is very reasonable, $29 for 3 items. We pick #1 and decided to order extra items just for $6 - $8 per item. Food came out very fast and unbelievable large portion comparing to many restaurants around here. Even the extra items were large portion too. Canh chua came with warmer and taste good. Cá kho tộ, thịt/ tôm rim, đậu hủ chiên... all are delicious. Btw, rice came with food without extra charge like many restaurants. The corn milk drink is good too. We haven't eat a good meal like this for awhile. We definitely will come back with friends and family.

The chicken was crispy and the dipping sauce gave it that extra yummy goodness. The dish also came with a side of broth that had chicken bits in it, was nice to help digest your dish. I also loved that they gave you pickled veggies & fresh veggies. We also ordered the Loi's Fusion Saltado, upgraded the rice to garlic egg fried rice. The beef was soft and tender, the fries were nice and crispy and the fried rice was fresh. You 100% need to get the Thai Tea. A lot of place add too much cream/half and half diluting the tea flavor, they do not skimp on the actual tea in their drink. The color speaks for itself on the dark orange hue!

I'm a bit late getting around to writing this, and unfortunately, they are already closed, but I still felt like I had to share my experience. I'm not completely surprised that they closed, especially after trying their bò né. I've had this dish many times at different places around Orange County, and unfortunately, this was probably the weakest version I've come across. The first thing that stood out was the presentation. As you can see in the picture, there was this purple-colored sauce on the meat itself, which honestly did not look very appetizing. To make things worse, the sauce was cold and did not heat in time with the skillet, which really took away from the experience. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything memorable. It was just okay, and when you factor in the cold food and the presentation, it made the whole dish disappointing. With so many places around Orange County serving bò né at a much higher level, I would probably recommend spending your money elsewhere. If you were wondering whether you missed out on some hidden gem, don't worry, you didn't. This one felt more like a piece of coal than a diamond. That being said, every restaurant has its journey, and with more time, maybe they could have found their footing. Hopefully, they can take this experience as a lesson, refine their recipes, and bring something better in their next venture. I am rooting for you Loi!

After our food arrived, there was no check in, no water refills, and you have to go up to the counter to pay. At least its very convenient, streamlined, and efficient! I found the food to have a great depth of flavor, something a lot of pho places lack. I especially liked the wider noodles which offered a nice chew and texture change. Be prepared: this place is incredibly popular, especially during peak hours. Parking can definitely be challenging because of how busy it is. The last time I visited on a Monday, the lot was completely full, and I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant is also primarily cash only, so come prepared. They open early, making it a perfect breakfast spot for an early bowl of pho. The pho broth is exactly what I want when I'm craving comfort food--clean, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. However, the star of the meal for me was the chả giò. Wow. Although they arrived after our pho, they came out at the perfect temperature. I was hesitant to take a bite right away because freshly fried food usually burns my mouth, but these were just right. Crispy, airy, savory, and absolutely delicious. Paired with their fish sauce, it was perfection. I enjoyed the egg rolls so much that next time I'm definitely ordering the egg roll vermicelli bowl. Service was friendly and prompt despite how busy it was, and it's clear the staff works hard to keep things moving. One thing I love is seeing all of the awards and accolades displayed on the walls. Phở 79 received the prestigious James Beard America's Classics Award, and it's easy to understand why after one meal here. This restaurant is truly an Orange County icon. The restaurant will soon be moving to a new location, as signs throughout the restaurant announce the upcoming move.
