Stopped by for a quick lunch, we both had banh canh which is a Vietnamese style udon soup. Compared to other types of Vietnamese soup, this is by far the tamest type of soup in terms of flavor. There was a lot of protein in the bowl so it's filling. Quan bun is a small restaurant with a nicely decorated interior and shaded exterior with many tables. Service was prompt, no complaint here.

    10. Bun Bo Hue Dac Biet (Solid 3.5) needs more herbs and banana flowers. Great broth and plenty of sate and chili. Plus fresh limes.

3.5 One of my favorite spots to pick up spring rolls. Why? Cause I love subbing their fish sauce for their prepared fermented shrimp sauce. Super flavorful and has that savory, slightly sweet and acidity from the fresh lime juice. Add in the fresh chopped Thai chilies and it's just perfect. Their bun bo hue (Vietnamese spicy lemongrass vermicelli noodle soup) is pretty good. Standard toppings of cha (pork patty/ham), slice pork belly, sliced tender beef, pork blood and pork hock. Fragrant broth. Lemongrass packed chili sate. Veggies accruements are ok, they only stock the plates with bean sprouts, red cabbage, and regular cabbage. Not very much herbs as I would like or banana flowers. Their bun dau mam (vermicelli served with boiled pork meat, pork patties, and veggies with prepared fermented shrimp sauce ) is excellent. Also enjoy their cahn bun (crab pork patties tomato vermicelli soup). Very flavorful broth and served with basic vegetables (bean sprouts, cabbage, again wishing more herbs). Very clean and nice restaurant. Open early. Great post night shift and looking for something comforting to eat in the AM. Excellent service. Very kind. Accepts card and Apple Pay. Skip on the chicken wings, too over cooked and chewy. Well rounded spot. Fair prices. Fresh food.

Great food. Came back so many times. I love their canh bun! Portion is huge, could not finish. Will always come back and bring more people here

This restaurant is small but easy to find. The staff was very friendly and immediately ask us how many people. After providing the menu to us, they notice that my menu was dirty, but I didn't mind or bothered to tell them since it's only a menu. They changed it the moment they saw it, which was really nice of them. We ordered a Canh Bun and a Bun Bo Hue. Both were delicious. The Bun Bo Hue had the perfect saltiness to it. It was on a sweeter side, but not too sweet. I would prefer it to be a tad less sweet (that's just personal preference). The pork was really soft and flavorful, as well as the other meats and huyet(congealed blood). Huyet had very minimal wholes and very smooth. That's a sign that they made it really well. Not overcooked. The Canh Bun had a crab flavor, it had similar meats, so no need to say more. It was perfect. The noodles was an orange color. There wasn't any specific flavor to it, but it was bouncy. The soup had a perfect sweetness and savory. The veggies that came with the two dish was very clean and fresh, there were no signs of wilting. I would definitely come back to try more of their other dishes.

The restaurant is small but always clean and well decorated. We really like their canh bun & bun bo hue here. They are very tasty. The broth is clear and meat is always tender. The staff are very nice and they refill water often during our sittings. Stop by to try their dishes if you are nearby

Bun Bo Hue is good. But would try something else next time as I don't think this is their specialty

Excellent meal at Quan Bun! Good food. Good Vietnamese coffee. All around good food , fast efficient & friendly service. Nice decor and comfortable seating. They also have a nice outdoor shaded seating area.

Craving Bun Bo Hue, I searched on Yelp and discovered this cozy mom-and-pop shop known for their Bun Bo Hue. My husband ordered the Bun Bo Hue, and I went with the Bun Rieu. Service was fast and friendly, and the ambiance was just what you'd expect from a classic Vietnamese noodle shop--simple, casual, and comfortable. The Bun Bo Hue really hit the spot and completely satisfied my craving. The broth was flavorful and rich, and I liked that you can choose to have it with or without pig's feet. The Bun Rieu was also delicious and reminded me of my aunt's homemade version--comforting and full of flavor. Definitely a great spot for authentic Vietnamese soups!

Came here for the canh bun and also tried the bun bo hue. Both were pretty decent. I'm still exploring canh bun, so I didn't have anything specific to dislike about it. Service was fast, but the food took a bit to come out, which felt like a good sign that everything was made to order. Seating wasn't hard to find, so it's a relaxed place to sit and eat, even though I got mine to go. Service: Fast ordering, slower food turnaround in a good way Food/Drinks: Decent canh bun and bun bo hue Ambiance: Casual and comfortable, easy to find seating 7/10 Solid Vietnamese noodle soups that feel freshly made

The bun rieu isn't even listed in the top 5 of choices on the menu. But it is REALLY good here. It is authentic as it gets and really cheap less than $14/bowl. The most notable topping was the fish cake, which was extremely good. My friend and I wiped clear our bowls.

Solid Vietnamese foo especially their banh cuon (rice sheet rolls) +located in a large plaza near garden glove blvd and brookhurst. Plenty of parking available +the restaurant itself is small so they also have few outdoor seating with tents. +write your name down on sign in sheet and wait for your table +we ordered chicken wings, banh cuon dac biet to share for the table, bun bo hue, and bun rieu. +their banh cuon was so good! The rice sheet texture was perfect, soft but has enough bounce/chew to it and all of the fixings inside the rice sheets as well as toppings were all great. Honestly I'll get this as my entree next time and soupy noodle dish to share with my boyfriend. +my bf and I had BBH and my mom had bun rieu. BBH was good! I personally love nha trang's BBH so in comparison quan bun's BBH is lighter in flavor but still very good. I added a lot of sautee and that made the bowl perfect. BBH includes homemade(or so we think!) meatballs and those were really good! +My mom said her bun rieu broth was light but in a good way and she liked it as is. Bun rieu noodle is thin and she also liked that as well. -the chicken wings were good but not the best we've had. The flavor profile is sweet and not enough garlic for my liking. But I think kids would love it! Fried super well so chicken wings are super crispy, which is awesome. Can't wait to be back more their banh cuon

Smaller, casual bun place with great service and a good selection on the menu. It's mostly indoor seating, but there is a tent set up outside for larger parties. Our servers were very attentive, always around whenever we needed something extra or if we had questions. I ordered the bun cha gio thit nuong, which is a simple dish that most Vietnamese restaurants have, but it's always a solid choice. The grilled pork was thinly cut and flavorful and the cha gio was crispy. I didn't love that the peanuts were kept whole/halved and the noodle to lettuce proportion was off (too much noodle), but other than it was good!

    1. The Vietnamese food were delicious, and the coffee was rejuvenating! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes with love for the Vietnamese culture! 3. There was only indoor seatings available in the morning, but a tent was set out for outdoor seatings if needed! 4. The staff were friendly and attentive! 5. Parking is easy! Note: I didn't see a customer restroom available! Photo: Bun Bo Hue, Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Bun Dau Mam Tom

The chicken was crispy and the dipping sauce gave it that extra yummy goodness. The dish also came with a side of broth that had chicken bits in it, was nice to help digest your dish. I also loved that they gave you pickled veggies & fresh veggies. We also ordered the Loi's Fusion Saltado, upgraded the rice to garlic egg fried rice. The beef was soft and tender, the fries were nice and crispy and the fried rice was fresh. You 100% need to get the Thai Tea. A lot of place add too much cream/half and half diluting the tea flavor, they do not skimp on the actual tea in their drink. The color speaks for itself on the dark orange hue!

I'm a bit late getting around to writing this, and unfortunately, they are already closed, but I still felt like I had to share my experience. I'm not completely surprised that they closed, especially after trying their bò né. I've had this dish many times at different places around Orange County, and unfortunately, this was probably the weakest version I've come across. The first thing that stood out was the presentation. As you can see in the picture, there was this purple-colored sauce on the meat itself, which honestly did not look very appetizing. To make things worse, the sauce was cold and did not heat in time with the skillet, which really took away from the experience. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything memorable. It was just okay, and when you factor in the cold food and the presentation, it made the whole dish disappointing. With so many places around Orange County serving bò né at a much higher level, I would probably recommend spending your money elsewhere. If you were wondering whether you missed out on some hidden gem, don't worry, you didn't. This one felt more like a piece of coal than a diamond. That being said, every restaurant has its journey, and with more time, maybe they could have found their footing. Hopefully, they can take this experience as a lesson, refine their recipes, and bring something better in their next venture. I am rooting for you Loi!
