I really enjoyed this Vietnamese pho spot. It feels like their meatballs are house-made, which is always a big plus. Stopped by for a quick lunch, we both had banh canh which is a Vietnamese style udon soup. Compared to other types of Vietnamese soup, this is by far the tamest type of soup in terms of flavor. After providing the menu to us, they notice that my menu was dirty, but I didn't mind or bothered to tell them since it's only a menu. They changed it the moment they saw it, which was really nice of them. We ordered a Canh Bun and a Bun Bo Hue. Both were delicious. The Bun Bo Hue had the perfect saltiness to it. It was on a sweeter side, but not too sweet. I would prefer it to be a tad less sweet (that's just personal preference). The pork was really soft and flavorful, as well as the other meats and huyet(congealed blood). Huyet had very minimal wholes and very smooth. That's a sign that they made it really well. Not overcooked. The Canh Bun had a crab flavor, it had similar meats, so no need to say more. It was perfect. The noodles was an orange color. There wasn't any specific flavor to it, but it was bouncy. The soup had a perfect sweetness and savory. Service was decent: we seated ourselves, they brought menus, took our order, brought our food, and once you're done, you close out at the cashier. We ordered bun rieu, bun bo hue, pork summer rolls, iced coffee, and salted apricot/kumquat beverage. The bun rieu tasted okay but needed extra fish paste. Bun bo hue was flavorful and had depth but was missing the pork hock with sliced pork in its stead. The accoutrements that came with each bowl were fresh and appreciated that they were sliced and ready to go. I was too full for the summer rolls but my friend said they were just okay. Iced coffee was strong and salted drink was unique but not my preference. I would rather have salted plum soda. All in all, for the price, it's fair. I went into the restaurant today 11/23/2025 at around 2pm to ask for a table for four because my friends would be arriving later. When I asked, the tall server looked at me and said, "WHAT?" in Vietnamese. I would say the way he said was very very rude. I usually get to-go but we dined in with my family once. Service was quick but during rush hour the line can get pretty long on the weekend. I really like their canh bun and I got this to-go quite few times. Good decent rich flavorful broth. The bun moc was good too, very clean clear and healthy, one of my other favorites. 3 stars I ordered the Canh Bun & Bun Rieu since those dishes seemed to be highly rated in the community. I probably shouldn't have done that because the broth was very similar. The only difference being Bun Rieu had a slightly sweeter broth and toppings were a little different. So, for the good, the veggies were very fresh, the meats were well-seasoned, & the broth was very good & the tofu soaked all the broth, which was delicious. The not so great news was the texture of the noodles...the thicker noodle snapped apart, it wasn't soft. The thinner noodles were a bit rougher than I'd like it to be. We ordered the Bunh Rieu and Bun Moc. The Bunh Rieu broth was bland; cook forgot the fish sauce or salt. I added tons of the purple fish paste and 2 squeezed lime wedges to give it some flavor. It's a small portion but in a big bowl. My mom didn't like the Bun Moc - she said it was boring and underwhelming. We would give this restaurant another chance but with the poor customer service and BOTH dishes not being good, we'll pass. They do accept credit cards and won't charge a fee. I discovered quan Bún last few years and i have been coming here for cạnh bun . It's on point, with flavors and topping and their bun is cooked perfectly. not too soft not too hard . i haven't tried anything else here so my review is strictly for cạnh bun . Bún riêu is forever always my favorite Vietnamese dish. So when it comes to this dish I am quite picky and have lots of criteria to how good the dish is. Not many place make good bún riêu unless you make it at home lol. This small hole in the wall place is tucked in a plaza in garden grove. I definitely think it gave a lot of protein for the price. I always order their BBH, Canh Bun, Bun Moc, and Banh Canh to go since there isn't much space to dine in. Honestly, this should be 3.5 stars as their food taste seems to go down a bit nowadays.
