We will never go back. So our my first experience here was okay and I thought for my second time I would bring my fiance. Well we sat down quickly, cool, and were offered a basket with two corn muffins and two biscuits. Biscuits were tasty, cornbread tasted like cardboard. We picked our food, and while waiting, finished the bread. We then sat there for 19 minutes, yes we noticed the time, and one woman passed by quickly, then turned around and asked if we wanted more bread, we said yes, and that was the last time we saw her. Our waitress finally came by, took the simple order or chicken fried chicken no gravy and chicken strips. 10 mins later and no bread was brought again, no drink refills and oddly enough our food showed up super fast, almost indicating that it wasn't fresh for us. Also my chicken fried chicken with no gravy was magically chicken fried steak with gravy ... and to top it off, the plate was warm and the food was cold. Uh.what? Fiances food was okay also cold though, sides were bland and salad was basically a bowl of ranch soup. After asking the speeding waitress to stop and correct my order, she seemed annoyed and fought me on what I had ordered. She had also placed the check on the table already so i pointed it out to here that she had written the right thing, but I had received something entirely different. When my boyfriend and I arrived we were excited to see the patio was open. When we asked to be seated at one of the many tables, the hostess told us they don't actually use those tables because they don't have the staff. There's signage everywhere about giving customers an attitude adjustment, what happened to service with a smile? I got up charged for a fruit substitute, ok I'll give you this one. But then they brought our food in chunks. My fruit came with my boyfriends side of pancakes but then it was several minutes until our meals came. The hash browns are just grilled mashed potatoes and the face my boyfriend made when he tried the biscuits and gravy made me think he might vomit. We won't be returning. read more

Mamas daughters diner had a wonderful breakfast & cute diner atmosphere. Our waitress was nice & my biscuits & gravy was awesome. Probably one of my favorites. The biscuit tasted home made & I do not like sausage gravy, but theirs actually impressed me! Everything was great except for when we realized that the mug my friend was drinking out of, had a pair of pink lip stains on it. I actually for whatever reason didn't think much of it when I first saw it, & then he noticed it too, & it wasn't even a stain, which still would've been gross, it was fresh lipstick as if the coffee was just poured out of the cup from the previous user, & his coffee was just poured into it & handed to him. I was very underwhelmed after wanting to visit this restaurant for over 15 years. The food barely had any seasoning. I had a pretty easy dish......hamburger steak with a green salad and mac n cheese. The hamburger steak had 0 flavor and the mac and cheese had a hint of salt. I decided to grab a slice of pie for some type of redemption, but it was subpar. I had breakfast with my son here today. I saw a bunch of white hairs walking in just like myself. I was really expecting something special. Well not so much. It was a bunch of ok. Coffee was ok not really hot. Food was ok not really anything special. Bacon was thick and delicious. Sourdough bread was good. Hash browns were cold and greasy tasting. I've a much better breakfast at Waffle House or Denny's. Even the inside didn't seem real clean. Lights were out wires exposed. Just seemed unfortunate for such a cool place. Last weekend was our first time here. We just came in from out of town visiting family. My sister raved about how great their food was so we decided to try it! When we walked in we were greeted by a nice girl...she seated us quickly. After we sat down our waitress came probably 10 mins later. When she finally came she took our drink order. We told her we were waiting on 1 more person so she said ok then left to get our drinks. After our drinks finally came and then she took my sister's drink order (she was the one we was waiting on). When we was ready to order it took about 15 mins before my sister had to ask someone to find our waitress to take our order. She finally came took our order then left to put the order in. The food came out quickly but that's only bc the kitchen was closing...which we didn't know they was closing at 8...when the waitress brought our food she also brought us our ticket to pay. The food tasted good but not any different from other diner places. It was probably 15 mins into the meal when this lady...I assume the manager or owner came and asked us to sign out bill so she can close out. We found that rude, 1-we was still eating and 2-she was standing there over my husband while he was signing the ticket! Never in my life have I EVER seen this!!!! After dinner we got up to leave but then the front door was locked. The manager or owner was RIGHT THERE but didn't seem to care and ignored us!!! HOW RUDE!!!!! When we told her it was locked she then told us in a rude way, " oh you need to go to the side door!" UGH ok whatever!!! Bc of this simple rudeness we will NEVER be back!!! Went there today because I was craving some good fried chicken. Of course, my luck was such that they didn't have it today! What diner doesn't have fried chicken on the their regular menu? So I tried the chili with frito's and onions. The frito's were good.....the chili, not so much. The texture was much like paste and the flavor was very poor. This is definitely a place to go for some good comfort food. Everything on the menu is down-home cookin. They have the best cornbread I have ever tasted and they'll bring you a truckload of it if you ask for it. The only thing I found below par was the meatloaf......it had this kind of quasi tomato sauce on it that looked something like a thick tomato-ish broth. I thought It needed to be catsup based and not whatever it was on the plate. It tasted alright, but not up to the level of the other menu choices. If you go for breakfast, the complimentary biscuits are to DIE for! Very moist, flavorful and tender, and are just wonderful with some jelly on them. I was brought here with a group and quickly scanned the reviews to see what was good, and the chicken fried steak was something that kept on coming up. So I got the breakfast #1 with the chicken fried steak with grits (because I have never tried grits before) and biscuits with a side of sausage. Grits are not my cup of tea, but the chicken fried steak was delicious! They also gave us cornbread muffins while we were waiting for our meals and they were very tasty! There were comments about how great the gravy was, but once again, not my cup of tea, but still tasted pretty good. It is a white gravy that is mushroom based, almost like a thick cream of mushroom soup. I was very satisfied with my brunch! read more

We have gone to Mother Daughters diner since it opened. We have always had great service and great meals every time whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. Some times we have had our grandmother with us that had a wheelchair, the staff was always helpful in setting issues etc. We have eaten at all there locations and had great service at all of them. The food was similar to Norma's cafe only I feel Norma's service and quality is far better. The waitress took quite a while to acknowledge us, didn't get us bread until we asked for it, and they only had certain parts of the menu available on certain days. I was not impressed. After driving by this place everyday, my BF and I decided to stop in for lunch. Food: I had the two biscuits with bacon combo (bacon was extremely crisp, even after I asked for it to be cooked soft). My BF had a hamburger and chili cheese fries; after one bite he was not impressed. The server compared the burger to a Sonic burger (not sure how to feel about that comment). Service: We saw our server when we first sat but never again. Another server took over for her and she was very attentive. This was my first time at Mama's Daughter's Diner; I went at a close work colleague's recommendation, and WOW! I came for Sunday brunch and ordered the pork chops and eggs with grits and biscuits & gravy accompaniment. The pork chops were very well-seasoned and scrumptious, but the biscuits were SLAMMING! They shared that all the baked goods were baked fresh daily, and oh what a difference! If the chops hadn't filled me up, I would've ordered more biscuits! But before my main course, the server brought a side of their peach cobbler to "tie me over" (but I didn't have to wait long, even with a full house, and) ... WOW! Yummy yummy! Had lunch there with a friend this week and didn't really know what to expect due to all the mixed reviews that I have read on here. Fortunately, they exceeded my expectations as you can see! Arrived and was immediately seated and greeted nicely by the waitress. If you don't know what to get, always go with the chicken fried chicken cause that's exactly what happened to me! My co-workers and I waited for Fried Chicken day to try this place and I am glad we did. Great chicken! I tried both the white and dark meat- both great. Good variety of side dishes. I went back and took my two year old because I liked the chicken so much. The staff was very friendly and attentive. It's a great diner with some very retro decor. Looking for a new place e to try out for breakfast, my friend and I had repeatedly heard the ad on the radio so we decided to give it a try. The french toast was small and wilted while the sausages looked like they were cooked much earlier and just placed on our plate. The sausage was wilted and dry. I have tasted better coffee at home but I give them 2 starts just for trying. We will plan to keep searching for that breakfast place that has yet to be remarkable. read more

I recently went to Mama's Daughter's. The experience was good. I would say for this type of restaurant that the food is not cheap. I had the chicken fried chicken dinner with a soda and my bill was around $12 bucks. The CFC itself was okay, nothing special from reading the prior reviews. The sides were good though. I did like the rolls and cornbread. The cornbread I will say is some of the best I have had at a restaurant. The decor here interesting, I would say a good breakfast spot or place to take your kids for dinner(kids eat free on Tuesdays!). The cashier/another server gave me $5 coupons to come back. She made a comment that my bill seemed high. I will say that I would return. Food decent and waiters were average ranging to above and beyond expectation. No major complaints. read more
