One of my absolute favorite spots to go for brunch! We've been here so many times, and the food is always on point, and the service is always great. If you haven't tried Whistle Britches before, they offer some hearty southern style food with large portions. Their fried chicken cannot be beat. Make sure to check out The, Sir Mix-A-Lot, which comes with three fried pieces of chicken and their signature biscuits with homemade jam. My other favorite is the chicken and waffles. Their drinks are absolutely amazing. One of the best drinks there is the bloody Mary fully loaded, which comes with a fried chicken wing on top! Also make sure to try out their signature sauces. When we moved back to Texas, Whistle Britches on Frankfurt was one of the first places we ate, and we loved it. I took friends to this location a few years ago, and it was also a great experience. I took friends to the Southlake location as well. I'm not sure what happened to this location. New management? The service wasn't great, and the food was mediocre at best. This was Mother's Day. We won't be coming back to this location again. I hope the other locations haven't followed suit. read more

I want to start off by saying the food here is really good. They give you huge portions and very flavorful. With that being said their deliveries that they prepare for people need to have better quality control. I placed an order for delivery through the Favor app and I ordered fried green tomatoes and there's an option not to have the bread and butter okra and I chose that option cause I don't care for okra. When I received my delivery, so excited to eat my fried green tomatoes come to find out they sent me a container full of raw green tomatoes with the bread and butter okra that I requested not to have. I did call the restaurant and told them of their mistake and there was no accountability for what they did and the lady on the phone was like oh well it just said "no bread."If you're not sure of something then use phone numbers to call to double check on what the customer really wants. My phone number is listed and also the delivery driver that came and got my food could've called me or reached me to double check if they had a question about how I wanted those tomatoes. This is actually the second incident regarding this restaurant. My first incident was when I ordered a side of mac & cheese but instead I got a double order of mashed potatoes although I may like this place and their food is good. Ok.....I did not think it was possible to beat Babe's or Raising Cane's for chicken tenders. I was WRONG. Whistle Britches has PERFECT and I do mean PERFECT crispy flavorful chicken tenders and they have "Mamaw Biscuits." You can eat one half of a biscuit and be satisfied because they are MASSIVE. But why stop there especially with the peach jam and honey butter. Shooooooooooot! I ordered the Love me Tenders with four huge fluffy crispy tenders and I substituted the Mexican street corn for the potato salad and hubba hubba. I made a mess out of myself with that corn. It was "Boy Howdy" and "Ohhh Lawd" delicious all the way around. My husband ordered the BLT salad that included two delicious crispy tenders. A little bit naughty and a whole lot healthy with that decadent looking salad with such fresh ingredients. Service was satisfactory with frequent refills, that we appreciated. It must be disheartening to work at Whistle Britches in Willow Bend when the rest of the mall will soon be demolished. It certainly showed in the lackluster service tonight. The restaurant was only half full (may be due to the FIFA World Cup) and we waited at the host stand to be noticed. The bartender/manager (?) yelled for someone to seat us. No welcome, but a woman grabbed some menus and walked us to a table. The waiter was unsure about items on the children's menu. Food was the usual - chicken was salty, biscuit was hard, sides just OK. Meatloaf was pretty good though. I think we were first swayed by Guy Fieri's rec years ago but now, just don't think it was really that great after all. read more

Also it was like at half capacity on a Sunday and the host said since I was dining solo I could only sit at the bar... even when a lot of tables were empty. The drinks menu offers cocktails, mocktails, beer and wine with happy hour specials every day between 2 and 6 pm. The margaritas were really good. Food was not the highlight though. I liked the appetizers better than the meatloaf entree. My friend enjoyed the chicken pot pie. Will recommend the corn fritters for the appetizer. Espresso martini: 7/10 it was a little too bitter for my taste. Corn fritters: 7.5/10 flavor wise these were pretty tasty...a little too greasy but tasty. It paired really well with the sauce it's served with. Chicken and waffles: 9/10 I only took a point away because I didn't ask for my waffle to be crispy. You get the perfect amount of chicken tenders. The waffle is your typical waffle. I also recommend getting the jalapeño syrup...actually get two of them. Thank me later. Mexican street corn: 6/10 I was a little disappointed. Maybe I didn't read the menu well enough, but I didn't know that it was a whole cob of corn. I thought it was served how you see it off the cob. I absolutely love this place! I've been to both locations and they kill it every time. We came for Sunday brunch this time and sat in the covered patio area. I usually get a menu item with the fried chicken because it is incredible but opted for the breakfast tacos. They were so freaking good! Stuffed with potato, chorizo, eggs and then drizzled with queso. I would order those every weekend if I could. My husband got The Colonel (fried chicken biscuit with ham, fried egg & gravy) and said it was heavenly. All paired with the garlic fries and a carafe of mimosas and it was the perfect brunch. 4.5 and I hate to say it but this place used to be a 5 for me! I was late to the arth but after ordering the Sit Mix a lot on a solo takeout night last year I really thought I was on to something. I housed my mixed pieces, sides, and a couple appetizers because I'm a foodie and I have to try everything. That being said I began to recommend this place and take people to eat here. Things have definitely gotten, I don't wanna say sloppy, but our last takeout was missing an entire entree and the past 2 sir mix alots I've ordered have been below par for the original box I ordered. I only say that to be fully transparent, know the pieces are smaller, know they have forgotten things from my order. I have always liked the food here, although the portions are increasingly smaller, pricier and not as delicious as a couple of years ago. I usually DoorDash my order, and over time, I realized that it was best to call and ask someone to double check my order before it went out to make sure everything was included. If I didn't, each time something I paid for was left out, whether it be the sauces or an entire entree. Usually, everyone is very pleasant and helpful that I speak to, with the exception of this evening. I called multiple times, only to be put on hold for 3 minutes each time, for no one to pickup my call again, once I was placed on hold. The girl answering the phone is incapable of multitasking and panicked, placing me on hold in the hopes I would go away. Frustrated and after a few calls, I asked to speak to a manager, and assistant manager, Daniel, finally took my call. He was rude and condescending, telling me how busy they are and how the person answering the phone was waiting on him. He was busy listing excuses, instead of listening to my concern and promptly addressing the issue. I understand the restaurant is busy with customers, BUT I AM ALSO A CUSTOMER. I don't like to call in to have someone double check my order before it goes out, but this is the restaurant's issue. I do not have to do this with any other restaurant. Ever. When I told Daniel he needed to change the way he was speaking to me, he hung up in my face. I wanted to make sure I wasn't out on hold again, but no, he actually slammed the phone down while I was still talking to him. Wow. Whistle Britches needs to get it together. The people in charge (Daniel), and the people answering the phones need to be trained better. In the amount of time they wasted being rude, giving excuses, and leaving me on hold; they could have very easily accommodated my request. After visiting the Plano location recently (and in the past, the old Frankford Rd. location), we chose this Whistle Britches for a large buffet style dinner we hosted for about 30 friends and family. We could not have made a better decision! Throughout our planning, the manager Marlene provided guidance and answered all our questions about menu choices. For a large group dinner they work from a preset catering menu, but the restaurant was very reasonable with some modest substitutions and modifications we wanted. They set us up in an excellent side room in the restaurant so our group dinner felt private, and it is attached to a very nice outside patio when the weather is good that our guests enjoyed. The food was a big hit! The entrees were chicken and meat loaf, and there was a number of salads and sides and of course biscuits. Everyone ate well. We had an open bar which offered a wide variety of drinks that our guests enjoyed. Nick and the other waitstaff were highly accommodating all evening, and very helpful with guests wanting to-go boxes, and packing up the remaining food for us to take home which we will certainly enjoy. Tried this out for an early lunch with my mom this past Saturday. Great location so we could shop at Willow Bend Mall afterwards. Our server was friendly and attention even though she had a very large table next to us. We tried all the "fan" favorites. Fried green tomatoes, corn fritters, chicken and waffles, and legs and eggs. The fried green tomatoes were delicious!! So much so that we ordered a second round lol. The corn fritters, ehh not a fan so we sent them back but the sauce they came with was delicious. Loved the legs and eggs (legs were Nashville hot, perfect amount of heat) and the tenders were juicy and fresh. Waffle soft the way I like. Personally the biscuit was a little dense for me but the accompanying jam helped out. I went here for lunch with colleagues. It wasn't terribly busy which was nice, even though we had a reservation it doesn't seem like you typically need it for lunch. We started out with the crispy corn fritters which was quite good. I would have liked them slightly softer but they had good flavor and came with a good sauce as well. I love fried green tomatoes and I was pleased to see they had a new dish since last time I went to one of their locations, Fried Green Tomato BLT. It was incredible, huge portion, the chicken had great flavor and was soft and the fried green tomatoes went perfectly with all the flavors. I can't remember having a better BLT anywhere. Recently dined here during our stay in The Colony. My brother & his partner suggested this restaurant, so my husband, our son, and I met up with them for dinner. The restaurant was clean with modern farmhouse decor. For appetizer, we ordered the fried green tomatoes & house-made potato chips with onion dip. Both apps were tasty & fresh. Onto the main entrees, I had the City Boy salad, add fried chicken strips. The salad was so yummy with apple slices, candied pecans, white cheddar cheese, and mixed greens. The honey vinaigrette dressing was the perfect pairing to my salad. The fried chicken pieces were well seasoned & the crunch factor was amazing too! Our male server was super nice & attentive. The pimiento cheese was a little watery from the syrup which was a little off putting but everything else was good. Biscuits were divine especially with the butter and the jelly that came with it.
