Flavor is surprisingly good. Potion is big. The combo meal can feed two. I would recommend the galbi and tofu combo. The shot rib soup was flavorful also. Unlimited refills on the side dishes. Service was attentive. The only issue we had was the table wasn't clean when we arrived. They promptly attended to it, but the sauce/food was still on the table after they cleaned up. Plenty of parking out front. read more

My husband and I got into a terrific argument within a few minutes of ordering, and spent dinner in stoney silence. What kept me going, however, was the warmth of the beautifully subtle ginseng chicken soup, which comes with an entire small chicken. Yes. Two thighs, two wings, two breasts and all. (You guys know chicken). I grew up with this, so I was used to it, but a first-timer might be a bit shocked at the amount of meat. The chicken itself is stuffed with ginger, green onions and rice (congee-style), and it brought me straight back to my childhood. My husband got the Bibimbap (aka hot stone plate rice with mixed vegetable) with beef and while we didn't converse, he finished it all, so it must've been good. The side dishes were also lovely. Since dinner, we've patched things up and will most definitely be back to enjoy not the stone silence but rather the hot stone plate :) read more

Glad we discovered this little Korean restaurant, tucked away in the corner of a plaza! Tried the soon tofu soup, bulgogi and kalbi. All Items were made fresh and all had so much flavor. We're so happy to find another option for Korean staples in the area. We only have like 2 kbbq places and 1 tofu place we go to in the Temecula, Murrieta, Winchester and Menifee area before. The best thing here is they have food in menu that are not in the said 3 places. We had Galbijjim and Kimchi Jiggae. We will sure be back to try the other food on the menu read more

One of the few authentic Asian restaurants in the area. Love the tofu and the grilled meats. Very friendly and attentive service, too. Not the cheapest Korean place but worth every penny. read more

This place is incredible. I had the Bulgogi plate. It was so tender and bursting with flavor. The owner's parents owned a Korean BBQ restaurant in Korea. They live here now and do the cooking on site from family recipes. Don't be scared by the prices. The meals are intended to feed at least two people, divide the price by the number of people eating it and you'll see it's quite reasonable. read more

You must go to Mama's Kitchen in Menifee, if only because you're passing by -- on your way to somewhere else -- and it's lunch time where you need to pick up good food fast (and THIS is one of the main reasons why Yelp is so helpful. . . I had NO preconceived notions of this place AT ALL. I just wanted to get three lunches quickly. "Get in and get out", so I can leave to go to my cousin's house nearby). Well, let me tell you, Mama's Kitchen lunch specials were not only fantastically tasty, but the lunch portions were hungry-man sized, for sure. I ordered the short rib, bulgogi, and chicken lunch specials, individually, but, quite frankly, when I got to my cousin's house and unpacked all the meals, we just ate "buffet-style" and we barely made a dent in any one of them! My cousin and his wife would easily get two meals out of the leftovers with some food STILL remaining. All-in-all, GO to Mama's Kitchen. The food is mouth-watering for out-of-the-way Korean food, outside of L.A. Koreatown, AND the service was lightning fast. Hopefully when I visit my cousin again, we'll decide to actually sit down and eat inside Mama's Kitchen because the place did look clean and inviting. read more

Thank goodness for now Menifee has a Korean restaurant!! The tofu soup and tteokbokki were spicy! Ask and you shall receive!! We asked for spicy.. The side dishes were also amazing and fresh!! I really want to love this restaurant. We got 3 orders of food costed 70.00 which is normal for Korean food. However I asked for extra side waitress said it's free because we get 2. I tell wait til I try it first. Then it was good. I asked for my second set of the free side. She like no it's not free. Only 3 is. My 3rd is to go. I said please add the sides to my daughter order and she tells me it's extra. The food is good but customer service sucks. Small bowl of rice for a fish item that's 24.99 like really. These people stingy on rice that cost less then .25 cents. I can't even say I'll be back sadly read more

So sorry that the pic doesn't show the large portion of sizzling bulgogi that came with my meal or the side of broccoli as well as the eggplant/mushroom combo...I was starving and dove in before taking a pic. I had the bulgogi lunch special and it was enough to fill me up and I'm a hungry girl so the average person should definitely walk out of here satisfied. The kimchi was amazing. It was all so flavorful. My server, Vickie was attentive and kind, she was great! While eating my lunch I got to rock out to Korean music videos playing on the TV and watch Mama of Mama's Kitchen walking around. I will definitely be back and bring my husband for a date night. HIDDEN GEM! If you are not familiar with the area, you may miss it. It's located in an older shopping center in Sun city off of McCall. I am so excited and glad to have mama's kitchen in the area. Whenever I was craving Korean food, I would have to drive to OC or LA. Now I finally have a place locally to go to satisfy my cravings. We discovered this place last week on accident through Yelp. I was so surprised to see Korean food show up even though I searched Thai food which is next door to it. I knew we had to try this place out. We ordered to go and absolutely loved the food. My kids couldn't stop talking about the food from mama's kitchen. I've never seen them eat so much! We ordered the beef soon tofu and short ribs. Both excellent! My kids asked to dine in this time so we did. We got to meet Juju who was so nice and helpful. She saw that I had my hands full with my little ones and helped me out. My kids said she was really nice. Food was just as good if not even better dining in because you get the tofu comes out nice and hot in the stone pot. The place is new and clean. Food is excellent and service is great. I most definitely recommend checking this place out. There aren't very many Korean restaurants in the area but even if there were. I'd say this place would be top on my list. I'll address the price which in some previous reviews mentioned. Everyone has their own opinion and I am not trying to discredit that. This is what I think about pricing. I think food prices have gone up in general. On top of that what I've experienced is that pricing in general is higher for Asian food in this area. I've accepted it because I understand that there aren't other similar restaurants to compete with. I pay less for Asian food in LA or OC I think because there is more competition. So I can pay less but then I have to do the drive. Now I'm paying for gas, my time, wear and tear in my vehicle and being in the road longer which more chance for a car accident. I'd be unhappy paying more if I thought the food wasn't good. My family and I think the food taste great so we will continue to come back! read more

I am glad I don't have to drive to Temecula or San Diego to get some good Korean food. I've been here twice now and the food is delicious, but it seems a bit over priced for the amount of food you get. You do get the sides you would normally see at a Korean BBQ place, but you don't have to grill the food yourself unlike most Korean BBQ places. The lunch special they have during the week is half price for half the serving and again still isn't a whole lot for what you pay. The japchae may be the only thing that we ordered that could be worth the price. Photos included are from our first visit. read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! Everything I ordered was top tier delicious. I can't wait to go back and try more things from the menu. I love Korean food, so I've been to plenty of restaurants, mostly in OC/LA. So my mind is blown to have found this gem hidden in sun city of all places. Being half Korea, I know what authentic Korean food taste like, and Momma's kitchen definitely has it. Always pleasant service and the food is impeccable. I ate here two days in a row, I had the tofu soup with dumplings both days, and just absolutely loved every moment of eating the food and the environment. One day a toddler aged child was there with the family who owns the restaurant and it was such a lovely environment to be a part of. Go, enjoy! read more

I would give zero stars if I could this place was 1. way over priced 2. food bland no flavor 3. portion size ridiculous after paying $50 for a meal appetizer and water yes water I get home to make myself something to eat..... will never come here again I thought I'd give it a try since I heard good things well those people were either the family members of the owner and or liars.... I Read the reviews and thought I would try it. Well, I would have been better off to save 29.00 for one dinner. The dumplings were soggie and cold. The Stone veggies with meat, was like eating starfoam. I was 5 minutes away, had to wait 40 minutes after I ordered, and when I got home to eat it...it was cold! Save your money and drive a little further and get a good meal. read more

I recently moved into the area and was looking for authentic Korean food but more specifically soft tofu soup. And wasn't willing to travel to Temecula for it. I ordered a combo. Let's just say the broth and fixings were made in house. The service was attentive and asked me if I needed any of the dishes explained. But I had already scoped the menu before hand. I wasn't aware during my visit that I was caught in the crossfire. Everything at this location tastes nasty. Let's just say Mr. Tendernism vouched for this place before his termination; well, that says a lot about his overall judgment on food. 100% forget anything about Mr. Tendernism and his sad story, because he clearly doesn't know anything about anything if he was guiding people this way. I remember an episode of the LATRYGUY also going to this destination, and even he vouched for this nonsense. Can't trust that fool either. The mac and cheese was some weird variation. The baked beans didn't really taste like baked beans. The meat was overly peppered. They for odd reasons, don't serve potato salad. Change that mac and cheese. Change your seasoning, or at least try. Include Potato Salad. And maybe your business will survive whatever it is going through. Sorry but facts.

For some reason, I just never made it back here; probably because the Promenade area isn't usually along our route. Coming here tonight genuinely brightened my day. I had just finished a long shift and a commute, and all I wanted was a good, comforting meal. My nutritionist told me yesterday need to significantly increase my protein intake to help reduce muscle loss related to my autoimmune thyroid condition. KBBQ seemed like the perfect choice; lots of protein without a lot of unnecessary junk. On my way home, I stopped at two other KBBQ restaurants. Apparently, I was unaware of the unspoken rule that some places don't serve parties of one on weekends. One restaurant even had me wait 25 minutes before telling me they wouldn't seat a solo diner during the weekend. Unfortunately, my husband is currently deployed, so being a party of one isn't exactly a choice for me right now! Normally, dining alone doesn't bother me at all, but today it got to me. I was exhausted and simply wanted a comforting meal. Being turned away after waiting 25 minutes just because I by myself was the last thing I needed. When I called this restaurant, the owner or manager immediately answered and was incredibly friendly. He explained that they offer entrée and plate options for guests who aren't doing the all-you-can-eat menu. I honestly don't understand why more restaurants don't offer this. I know the food industry is competitive and businesses have to make money, but having options for solo diners makes such a difference. When I arrived, I received wonderful service right away, and there was no wait, but they were full. The owner or manager recognized me as the person who had called earlier and went out of his way to make me feel welcome since we found out we're from the same area. He even added a little surprise to my order simply out of kindness. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. In an area with no shortage of restaurants, I want to give this place the credit it deserves, not only for the excellent food, but for the heart behind the business. Today, I'm especially grateful for the kindness and generosity shown to me. You never know what someone may be going through, and a simple act of thoughtfulness can make a bigger impact than you realize. His kindness truly lifted my spirits after a long and difficult day. I believe this is a small family-owned business, and they absolutely deserve the support of the community. Great food is easy to find; genuine hospitality is much harder to come by. I'll definitely be back!

Oh, me and my family highly recommend Mama's Kitchen! Not only do we love mama herself, but we love her daughter who works there and all their staff ! Not to mention the food is amazing, never had anything we could not eat! All I will say is try everything because it's all good! And we love the ambient stair. Because we can watch K-Pop while we're eating...lol! My daughter especially lives K-pop! This is definitely one of those diamonds in the rough and encourage people to come. Check it out as much as possible. Since we eat there all the time, we always forget to take pictures. But this is an authentic Korean cuisine highly recommend. read more

I've already went twice and it's still my fav korean restaurant in menifee. There's plenty of food. They actually told me one dish is at least 2 servings. Which I really thought was convenient. I really enjoy my experiences there. The service was nice and it was pretty clean. The servers seem a little choppy when it's busy but they're really kind since it just opened. I can see why people are scared of coming into the restaurant because of ghe price but there's a lot of food coming out in that 20-30 dollar dish. And it even comes with side dishes/rice/soup for free. I highly recommend at least trying it out. read more
