Meh. Food was good, not great, but that might have had to do with everything combined. Service was alright. Attentive but not much help, and the place was completely empty. She turned a lady away for being a couple minutes late for the lunch special, which was surprising, it looks like they could use more business.. They wouldn't make a side of tofu soup, wanted to charge extra for things that are normally included in a $33 meal, etc. Galbi was too sweet for me but still decent flavor. First time at Mama's Kitchen, my family and I had a great experience. The restaurant is located in a huge plaza with plenty of parking space. Service was quick and the waitress was attentive. Our evening at Mama's was so memorable. We came here on a Saturday night and were blown away by all the food. This is a great addition to the Menifee/IE area. We were greeted warmly by several servers and our waters appeared pretty quickly. As we were looking over the menu, we ordered two fried potstickers (12) for the three of us. These were meat filled with cellophane noodles inside. Mama actually came out several times during our meal to greet us and other dinners, to see how we were enjoying her cooking. I guess it was also a breather for her. She (photo) was so friendly and nice. We ordered the huge Breaded Fried Pork with Slaw ($29.99), Beef Bulbogi ($19.99), Sweet and Spicy Boneless Chicken ($14.99) and the Combo Spicy Seafood Tofu Soup and Spicy Pork ($27.99). Everything here was so good! It was random to find a Korean place in this old part of town. The portions were huge. Everything was flavorful. The boneless chicken tasted like popcorn chicken or chicken nuggets. It was so crispy that we ate it all in one sitting. Any items that offer levels of spicy can be customized to make it more spicy. I'm so disappointed and mad that I am writing this interview moments after returning home and opening my to-go order. I was in the area a few days back at the Thai restaurant, saw this Korean place, and decided I'd come back this week to try. I read reviews, and they were good, so I decided to go order in person for a to-go meal. See what the inside of the restaurant looked like and the ambiance so I could rate it and ensure all else was good. Well, what none of the reviews stated follows.... I was looking for the individual menu because the prices seemed high, and for large parties and families. I was told that individual portions did not exist. I had a conversation with the lady taking orders about just how much food it was and surely would have a good deal left over for those prices. Well, the portions are NOT large. Laughably, so NOT large. I ordered the kalbi short ribs, and for the price they charge, I just knew there would be stacks of beef. It came with an overly large container of soup with the choice of chicken, beef, seafood, or tofu. It comes with all these other little pockets of food stuff that I did not see were included on the menu, nor was it mentioned when I asked about the food. A very small portion of kimchi, a laughable slot of lettuce, not an actual salad, then 2 other small pockets of white food products. The ribs sit on a large bed of unccoked onions. I asked a good deal of questions before ordering. All these questions were directly because of how much they are charging for this pittance of actual food! The dumpling appetizer was reasonably priced for what you get, which is about 6 or 7 of them. Basically, they charge a dollar a dumpling. 1 star for the dumplings being reasonable and the taste of the ribs are good. $48 dollars....almost $50 for what? I'm extremely irritated and will not be returning! read more

We were craving Korean food for dinner and wanted to venture someplace we've never been to before in the Inland Empire. Read the reviews here and went to try it out ourselves. Upon entering, you seat yourself and a server will come and hand you a menu and give you a few minutes to make your choices. The interior is a good size with lots of tables. It is clean and neat. There is a large screen TV that plays K-Pop music videos. Our service was excellent which was provided by Vickie. Nice attitude with a smile and very pleasant. For appetizers, we ordered dumplings and tofu salad. Appetizers came piping hot and had a wonderful crunch to both. Entrees ordered was the glass noodles/jap chae, marinated chicken, seafood pancakes and beef short rib. Everything was simply delicious, marinated and spiced just right for our tastes, and hot (heat). Various banchan was accompanied with their miso soup and a side of rice for each of us. The food made our tummies very happy. We were full and took leftovers home. The minus star is that it's a little pricey, but if you share an entree with others, it's worth it. A wonderful hidden gem of Korean food! We happened upon this place on accident, it's been open for a month and we had never heard of it. It's quaint inside and their service is attentive and great. The menu has so many great looking dishes and they offered us tons of suggestions to try. We went for beef tofu soup and beef fried rice dish. Both came out on a smoke hot container, and the smell was delicious. They brought out side bits before the food so you can start on something. When the food came out all I can say is it was smelling amazing! It smelled better then most Korean bbq style places we've been too. We devoured our food and they checked on us a lot and walked us thru what each bit is. This place is definitely going to be one of our new favorites! Finally we have a Korean restaurant in Menifee!! And let me tell you, coming here for the first time, it felt like you were truly having dinner at grandma's and mama's dining table. The food was so DELICIOUS!!!! I know my Korean dishes, I make my own spicy tofu soup and grill my own galbi. We always have kimchi at home coz we love Korean food. We were seated right away and the server, Hailey, was so friendly. The owner came to our table as well and took our order. This is our first time here so we asked for her recommendation and without any hesitation, she said try the spicy pork belly! C'mon who doesn't like pork belly. But when you come to a Korean restaurant, pork belly doesn't usually come to mind first. Instead you want to get the Galbi and bulgogi. So we took her recommendation and also ordered the short rib galbi and the beef rib soup coz it's that time of the year when you're just craving for a hot and delicious beef soup. Man o man!! This was probably the best spicy pork belly I've had EVER! I am not kidding! It was so tender and the flavor was out for this world and so balanced with the Gojuchang spice and sweetness. It was So good! The galbi was also very delicious at par with any galbi you can have in Koreatown in LA. Plus the beef rib soup was a nice compliment to our meal. I love the fact that their menu is not too extensive and I think the owner pretty much put in the menu their best home cook meal that they enjoy eating themselves. If i could give it 4.5 stars i would! The banchan we got was kimchi, broccoli, fish cake, bean sprouts, and radish. They were honestly the reason i did not give them 5 stars. I absolutely love going to any Korean restaurant and eating the sides. Literally the best part of the whole experience at least for me. Felt that the sides were lacking but the kimchi was good just something was missing. We went for the classic pork tofu soup with bulgogi. The meat was very juicy and perfectly sweeten. Sometimes some places will make the meat too sweet and i end up getting overwhelmed by the taste. This one was just perfect. I got the spicy pork tofu soup and I APPRECIATE THAT IT WAS ACTUALLY SPICY! It was very good but again it was just missing a little something in it. Maybe I'm just used to the location i always go to in Chino I'm not sure. I will say i do appreciate the miso soup they give you, if you don't get soup it's a nice side touch. The service was great considering they're understaffed atm. For Menifee it's definitely the best Korean spot in the area and better than other Korean spot in Temecula. I love Mama's Kitchen. I've been coming here for about 2 years, ever since someone I know posted about it on Instagram. I usually get the tofu soup + galbi combo. However, I've noticed the portions getting smaller. A couple of weeks ago I ordered takeout and didn't notice anything regarding portion size, but then I dined in a week later, ordered the same stuff, and got a smaller portion of galbi--literally 3 pieces. Typically, I get 4 or 5. The prices have also increased recently, which cannot be helped. Business seems slow and the economy is not well. Service is always good though. I wish this was located in a better, more crowded area because I know this place would do well if it was. read more

Came in for a late lunch for our anniversary and we were one of two tables seated during the duration of our meal, but yet we got zero service. The girl that waited on us was silent and never responded to anything, even when we told her thank you. No refills on our banchan or drinks, never even checked in on us until we asked for the bill. I understand it's a family run establishment, but I kind of feel like having a baby in the kitchen being passed around is some kind of health code violation. They all just stood/sat around while just watching us which was awkward. They also put on a soccer game and showed more interest in that then serving their paying customers. Prices are astronomical here, beyond ridiculous and the meat in my hot stone bibimbap was flavorless little shreds (seemed like leftovers). No sauces or anything at the table, nor did they offer any either. They have only a handful of things under their appetizers and items that seemed like they should be under appetizers were listed under entrees for triple the cost. We paid $90 after tip for LUNCH for TWO which were two entrees and two apps. Not worth it for the prices, taste of food, or the lack of service. First of all, these prices are insane!!! Basically a combo with beef and rice are priced between $37 to $43, really?! The flavor/marinade is decent but they're not "deliciously worth $40 dang dollars" The beef is not high end, not prime cut tender quality.
