This place has been around a while, but it's my first visit. I tried the Pizza Buffet here and found it to be quite good. Hot fresh pizza on the buffet is constantly changing, and they will make a special request (assuming it's not something crazy?). Also a decent salad bar with fresh ingredients. Let me be clear - we LOVE coming here & we LOVE the pizza, but the restaurant itself is becoming rundown and depending on the day, depends on if you get friendly staff or not. I pick up a pizza here nearly every Sat evening for the family. I get a MAMA size!! I love the crust and the sauce on their pies. The cheese is good quality. Support a local store and try it if you haven't given it a try. They have a buffet with a pretty good selection and decent salad bar, or you can just order for pick-up like I do. Ok so this is a buffet style restaurant but it's fantastic the pizza is always fresh. The salad bar is on point and don't even get me started on the cinnamon rolls. The only thing I can see people getting upset about is that they only have around 4 pizzas out at one time. But the news ones are always coming out fast and you can request certain pizzas. Had the lunch buffet on 08-08-2019. The counter person gave us senior discount without being asked. I guess we are entering geezerdom. They have a fair selection of beer. I always add a star for serving beer. Would have liked a Heineken. Settled for a Shiner Bock. An Oasis in a Baptist waste land! They had 3 pizzas on the buffet line. No peperoni. I asked the attendant if they had pepperoni. 2 minutes later he brought out a fresh baked pepperoni! They treat their buffet customers very well! The pizza itself was very good. Lots of tomato sauce. Thick crust but crisp on the outside. Nice bread taste. Way too good! We pigged out. Couldn't resist the cinnamon rolls. The only better ones I've ever had were baked by my Mama. A little higher priced than your average pizza buffet, but then again, this ain't no average pizza buffet. Plus, student lunch discount! Decor: You walk in and pay up front, then have at it! Huge Budweiser posters and cute lamps that have stained glass embedded with UT, A&M, SMU, and Plano Senior High logos also join the decor. Now, let's talk food. The pizza selection itself may be a bit on the scarce side, but MAN that dough! Mama's uses more, higher quality cheese (it strings forever) on their dough, and the crust bakes beautifully. It's so thick and dense that you honestly feel bad if you don't eat it. I like to get some of their marinara sauce, put it in a salad dressing cup, and go to town dipping them in the tomato-ey goodness. Yum. In terms of pizza selection, there's cheese, pepperoni/+jalapeno, spinach, ham&pineapple, sausage, the works. I like how they're sliced -- not the usual 8-piece, but rather smaller, so you have better portion control. Salad bar only has lettuce, but that's fine with me. The usual toppings and a plethora of dressings are also included. One of their salad toppings is whole hard-boiled eggs, which I really appreciate. Thanks for not chopping up your eggs and just letting us eat however many we wanna eat, Mama. Dessert is luscious, gooey cinnamon rolls. Oh to be young and work pizza. I'm not poking fun, I did work pizza in high school. If you'd asked me what the specialty of the house was you'd have bought yourself a Sticky Fingers with jalapenos! The guy at the counter was fairly clueless. I asked what the best thing they served was. He said pizza... So I asked what the specialty was. He said pepperoni... Good buffet. Pizza is good, cinnamon rolls are better. Salad was very fresh. I like the place but I'm not totally sold on the idea of driving to Plano just to get pizza. It's good but not THAT good. When I walked in, I walked up to the counter and told the cashier it was my first time in and that I was curious about their restaurant and food. She just looked at me like I had spoken in a foreign language. After an awkward stare she finally asked if I wanted the pizza buffet. Where do I start with my list of complaints and disappointments? I went on a Tuesday evening at 6pm with my son. We are not picky eaters. I know it was a cheap buffet place. We spent $11 for 2 people which is cheap but CICI pizza is cheaper!!! How many variations can this place make pizza with pepperoni and sausage? Is the Busboy related to the owner? There was the cici's pizza pasta presentation. The sauce looked equally bad. The bread squares that were offered next to the pasta were edible but tasteless and soggy. The crust was not buttery but oily with garlic powder taste. The pizza was soggy like the bread squares. If you like soft soggy crust then come here!!!! The cinnamon rolls had frosting on it but it was not sweet at all and it was dry and crunchy. It tasted like stale rolls. Maybe I should go there on a weekend and the food will be better - NOT! I would recommend buying frozen pizza from the grocery store or go to CICI pizza. At least they had more varieties and you can order your custom pizza too that can be brought to your table. I can't believe I found a place that sucks more than CICI's pizza. This place is a joke. I should have gone to Wing Stop or Scotty P's hamburger. The one star is for their salad bar. Came here based on my fellow Yelper @Chris lol review, I can honestly say, this is a very good pizza buffet, haven't been to a buffet this good in a long, long time, I loved that the sauce was not overpowering just tastes good, plenty of cheese and toppings, I did not try the rabbit food, I did not eat any of the cinnamon rolls they did look yummy, I was here for pizza, the place looks big from the out side, but somewhat cramped inside, the buffet choices are a little limited due to the size of the area, but if you ask they will bake, boy am I stuffed ate 8 slices, but! These are thin slices, maybe half of a normal pizza slice, so technically 4, ha,ha. I shall return, and nextime try the rest of the options, Oh! The parking is tricky, save yourself some time and park in the back, plus it gets packed at lunch, due to the Plano high schoolers, I tried and asked for the student special, but I guess I don't look like a teenager anymore, so busted. I honestly do not know where to start this. Mama's is just so insanely good. Okay, when my family has a craving for pizza, we go to Mama's because they are the ONLY place that satisfies my dad's critical taste (all these years of being a pro chef kinda got to him). We LOVE; the soft, buttered, garlicky crust, the not too sweet, not too salty tomato sauce, the oozing cheesy goodness that comes atop every pizza, and the lovely choices for toppings. I LOVE being a student and getting the 5 dollar buffet for lunch with all of my friends. Its an amazing deal, we load up on the bread sticks, pizza, salad, and Oh, the soft, warm, ooey gooey, sweet bits of heaven that is Mama's cinnamon rolls. Once again, when I was back home in California ( a place known for its myriad of restaurants ) I longed for a place that had pizza like Mama's. read more

Ran by here today prior to hitting the grocery store. Wanted a salad and was enticed by some Yelpers' descriptions of the salad bar here, namely...the homemade dressings. I have a thing about salad dressings served in restaurants. If they aren't homemade, then I skip the salad. This is not a huge salad bar, but extremely adequate. Had all the "right stuff" (in my mind) for a good salad to eat with pizza - lettuce, black olives, cukes, raw mushrooms, boiled egg, shredded cheese, tomatoes, bacon and a few other things that I don't bother with. Even a crisp pickle spear which I did indulge in. There were 5 dressings and I took a small cup of ranch and one of blue cheese to the table for tasting. They were perfect, with blue cheese chunks even! My salad was accompanied by cheese bread that's at the end of the buffet (there is also one pasta and a marinara sauce for one's pleasure if so inclined). There were cinnamon rolls for dessert but I'm not a sweet eater except on special occasions. After my salad and cheese bread, I thought that since I was already there, I might as well try the pizza and chose (for tasting only, since I was full from the salad!) a slice each of pepperoni, sausage and Canadian bacon. All 3 were okay. Was it fantastic? No. But definitely doable. And hey, if I can get a simple salad bar with all the relevant toppings, homemade dressing, and some cheese bread on the side with a fountain drink for just under $8, I'm a happy camper. In and out in 45 minutes too. For comparison purposes, if anyone's ever spent any time in East Texas, this place reminds me of Mazzio's in Tyler. I'll return when in the area for sure - probably take my mom back with me when she visits -she's as picky about salad dressings as I am. read more
